  • Showing the normal delayed heating function in this Mr Slim Heating and Cooling unit. Nothing to worry, it's just that it takes about 3 minutes for the heating mode to start - notice also during this delay the buttons don't function either, again this is normal (if strange) operation.

    Thank you for validating my momentary insanity. Had to hit the reset button on the remote. Reset all settings and turned it off and again and after a few minutes it worked as advertised 🙏🏼 Thank you got your video

    Another issue I just discovered is that if you have multiple indoor units coming off the same outdoor unit/pump, all the indoor units have to be on the same setting. All on heat or A/C. Can't have one on heat and another on air conditioning. Outdoor unit can only do one job at a time.

    Finally got it up and running. The only delays we had was because we realized we needed some extra parts (I’ll list that below) ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxihMYiJNXcHdbH-7ihymsLz61l7jVyb5O . So we have a loft where our current hvac just couldn’t seem to keep cool during the summer. We have been using a window unit since we bought this house over 6 years ago (all the houses in this neighborhood were built in the 80’s and majority of the houses built like ours use a window unit). I hate window units because they are just so noisy and the one we had really only cools one side of the loft. I had contemplated upgrading our current HVAC, but with all the rising prices these days, it would take years before saving up enough to do that. With the advice of my father-in-law (used to run an HVAC business), he recommended we get an inverter instead. We thought we bought everything we needed, but there were just a few other parts we didn’t anticipate needing (which is what caused most of our delay). My friend and father-in-law did all the work to get it installed and running and now we have nice cool air circulating nicely throughout the entire loft. It is very quiet and even the outside unit is much quieter than our main HVAC unit. Saved ourselves thousands getting this.

      It is a good unit indeed. Ours has been working fine for the past 3 years - summer cooling and winter heating. Good airflow. Be sure to clean the filters every month or so.

      For cold air, I would test the filters and drains inside the wall unit, the temperature sensor located on the back of the outdoor fan housing, and also see if the fan starts spinning.

    Im going to have to contact the management of my building. We only have control of the unit via thermostat. No remote. Because, its October and the heat blinks for way longer than 30 seconds. The room never warms up (I end up turning it off), & the heat worked fine back in March when we moved here. All summer the AC worked fine. Now I'm trying to go back to the heat setting, but its not working or its taking way too long. Everyday its cold I try to cut on the heat. I have 4 units in the apartment.
    1.Living room (largest)
    2. one in each of the 3 bedrooms.

    • @DjC4

      It's probably your blower drum with a bit of dirt in it. You can try blasting it with compressed air in the corners where it connects to the case. If that doesn't fix it you have to take it apart and deep clean.

    Can anyone help? I use my remote to turn on the system, however it isn't talking to the unit itself? The remote turns on, and I can change the settings, however the unit doesn't beep or turn on? It's only started happening in the last 2 weeks

    • @Peppermint1
      @Peppermint1  Рік тому

      Maybe the remote buttons don't work, was liquid spilled on it ? Try removing or replacing the batteries in the remote (see minute 8:00 in the video) and try opening the remote case, remove the rubber pads with the buttons, clean the circuit surface, wipe with clean cloth only behind the button rubber pads (do not use any liquid), put back in place and try again. be sure to stay close to the conditioner unit and point the remote directly at it with the front of the remote

    • @lachiemiles5737
      @lachiemiles5737 Рік тому

      @@Peppermint1 I did think that, but it literally stopped working overnight (coincidentally the power to my unit did go out overnight). I’ve replaced the batteries and cleaned as best I can, but still nothing.
      I would have thought the remote wouldn’t work at all if there was a fault with the remote?

    • @Peppermint1
      @Peppermint1  Рік тому

      @@lachiemiles5737 If it happened after a power outage, it could have been a power spike that caused some issue with the controller. Perhaps try turning the unit off then switch the circuit breaker on home panel, off and on. And see if there is a 'reset' button on the AC unit

    • @lachiemiles5737
      @lachiemiles5737 Рік тому

      @@Peppermint1 I couldn’t find a ‘reset’ button on the unit, but sadly did try the other suggestions. Might have to call in a techy to look at it

    You can usually find the user manual online for your model - just be sure not to click on sites who say to download, that can be a virus. Google "mitsubishi - your model - manual pdf"
    This is one example from the manualslib site which is usually a safe site www.manualslib.com/manual/467097/Mitsubishi-Electric-Mr-Slim-Msy-A24na.html
