I scrolled through dozens of concrete block raised bed vids. Your's is the easiest (especially for a woman), most practical method of building one and looks the best! I like that you put something on top to give it a "finished" look! I LOVE the ideas of using the Locktite rather than cement. I've got the blocks and just couldn't figure out how to keep them together without mixing up concrete, which wasn't gonna happen with this gal!. . SOOO much easier and faster your way! I really think I can do this! THANKS!
My husband just died and he was very talented around the house. Your UA-cam channel gives me hope that I can now rely on myself. Thank you. Subscribed.
Looks great! Wonderful first shot at adhesing those cinder blocks. Recommendation: offset the blocks for more strength. The edge of the top row should be 1/2 way down from the bottom row so that the end of each block rests on the center of the block below. I think I might actually do this next. I didn't want to cement the blocks in case I ever wanted to move them and considered staking them with rebar but using an adhesive is a smart idea.
Bought a house and there are dozens and dozens of cinder blocks stacked in the back. I was dreading hauling them all away but you’ve inspired me to put them to use. Lumber prices are crazy so you’ve saved me a bunch!
This is AMAZING! I’m with you. The price of wood (looking at cedar) is much higher than I remember when I last worked in the garden. We have a source of cinder blocks, so was looking for raised bed ideas. Watching your video… our response: “That looks so classy!” LOVE IT! We’ll pick up our blocks and start building our new beds soon. THANK YOU for sharing your wonderful work!!!!!
You are amazing my Diva sister ! That raised bed look awesome ! I have a cinder block garden myself but like you I need to add another layer as it is not deep enough. I love how your turned out ! Great job !
Love it. Turned out great. Have you tried using large planters that are baseless? The bottom is actually cut out then the planter is placed on top of soil, in the yard, by the mail box.... fill planter with soil and plant what you like! The plant never gets over watered because the water seeps into the ground soil. Sprinkler system takes care of watering. Makes yard work a breeze, weed wacker won't be damaging my plants from now on.
I definitely want to try this method! I've been Thinking of starting a raised garden for a little while now, this seems like the best tutorial I've found so far.
Perfect! I have all these raised gardens saved on my Pinterest and I was like how do people make these? This is exactly what I was looking for. Nice touch with the wood top.
Thanks for sharing! Looks great. I’m thinking about adding one to all my non-traditional gardening spaces. Along with a few cattle panels. Going to check out more of your channel now. Have a great night.
Wow this video is so on time and so helpful. I have to build several raised beds and I'm thinking to myself how am I going to be able to afford that so I start looking through Craigslist like I always do in the free section and what do you know somebody in my neighborhood has about 50 cinder blocks free and then I came across your video and your bed looks amazing thank you so much!

I love the idea of the boards and painting the blocks, that wil help conserve water. Not to be critical, but for longevity's sake, stack the blocks where each layer above crosses the gap and ties the blocks of the lower level together. Also, the boards can be used to tie together the top blocks at the corners by crossing the gap.
Your idea sounds awesome but I don't have a visual I am so not a handy person I'm about to build a few raised beds with cinder blocks and I want to make sure it's secure. Do you have pics for what you're suggesting
I love love love how your cinderblock raised bed looks. To cut down on chemical exposure I'm going to leave the cinderblocks their natural color and will paint the wood on top black. That color combo will also harmonize with my black trellises. Good job Diva, I finally found the solution to my garden plans. It is going to look amazing. You are very talented.
To add to my comment below, before constructing the raised bed, I will place some sort of metal mesh on the bottom of the bed to inhibit critters and cardboard to inhibit weeds.
So I have maybe a dumb question. But did you have anything planted already in there? If so putting fresh dirt on top doesn’t negatively affect the growth?
no dumb questions. no nothing was planted when I did this. I just had to rebuild the dirt to a new level. also, I mixed garden soil with manure to improve the quality. no it doesnt affect growth though btw. sometime you actually have to add dirt after the fact to ensure the plant roots are fully covered
She did consider. Next time consider watching the video. Of course, with the adhesive and the fact that this is a 2-foot-high non-structural item ... it's a purely aesthetic choice.
@@kevlar1482 lol seriously? i was thinkn that's alot of loctite at like close to 10 bucks a tube vs one bag of mortar. she prob went through a few tubes tryn grout in between. makes sense if was paid ad though. still turned out nice didnt need no where near the amount of pl she used though.

Thank you and thank you for the tip. I considered staggering the blocks but at the last minute went this direction

This was great, i did mine the same way. Thanks!
Awesome idea and love they way it turned out.
Very nicely and "quickly" explained (looking at you 20 min video people who try to explain the same thing but confuse us).
Thank you so much! So glad you found it useful. Yea I hate long videos so I try to think others might feel the same. ☺️
Love this!!❤❤
I really like this ! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much
I love this!! 😍😍 great job 👍🏽
Thata a great idea. Weve been arranging and re-arranging the blocks we have trying to decide. Thanks for the tip. Subscribed.
Looks so good! Thanks for sharing!
A pergola would really be cute in that backyard area where the baby was sitting!
Nice job!
I think I’m
Gonna build one !!! Thanks 🙏
Looks super nice
It's been a year. I'd like to know how this is holding up, especially the wood top?
Looks great

Omg!!! It’s soooo pretty 😍
Love this video
I love this thank you so much
Ty you Divas are very cool! Appreciate the info keep it up.
Great video. Thank you.
Thank you so much
Great job
Can you share the details of the timber and paint you used for timber and the bed ?
What are the dimensions of the cinder blocks used, they look thinner than others I've seen. Want to make sure I buy the right ones 🤗
I will surely try that to my backyard ❤️❤️❤️
ITS BEAUTIFUL.❤️❤️IM DOING THIS..BUT IM GOING TO PAY SOMEONE CAUSE MY BLOCKS MIGHT BE A MESS
To add to my comment below, before constructing the raised bed, I will place some sort of metal mesh on the bottom of the bed to inhibit critters and cardboard to inhibit weeds.
I used plastic and placed gravel atop that.
what type of soil did you put?
I was thinking about doing the same thing , is the location non toxic ?
I would have put a layer of sand below to prevent expansion and contraction of the ground causing level issues down the road
Thank you so much for the feedback for next time
❤
Are you worried about the treated wood leaching into the dirt?
Fabulous
Does painting protect the chemicals in the concrete from leaching into the soil?
So I have maybe a dumb question. But did you have anything planted already in there? If so putting fresh dirt on top doesn’t negatively affect the growth?

I just had to rebuild the dirt to a new level. also, I mixed garden soil with manure to improve the quality. no it doesnt affect growth though btw. sometime you actually have to add dirt after the fact to ensure the plant roots are fully covered
What was your total cost ?
❤️👍
Cool project!

@@kevlar1482 you mad?
Loctite makes some awesome stuff, but why not use mortar?
A mortar company didn't pay her? This is a paid ad.
