Farmers are starting to learn that there are better options than leaving the corn stalks standing. There are a few combine attachments AKA Stalk Stompers that knock the stalks off at ground level. This helps with decomposition of the stalks and cuts down on tire damage. In the future I think you will see more farmers using them. Lets hope so!
I prefer to leave the stalks standing, especially for no-till farming. Chopping the stalks creates a thick matt of stalk material that prevents the ground from warming in the spring.
Really enjoyed watching. I work a 3rd shift job. 7 pm 7am. I just binged watch 30 of your videos. Im now caught up. Keep up the great videos. You make me laugh. All the best Jon.
Happy newyear for the all of you ‼️I knew the king Leopold coin from Belgium and also the stuber, we in Holland has till the year 2000 stuiver, sounds allmost the same as stuber, Belgium and Germany are our naburs as you probably know? Nice finds guys and till the next upload! Best regards from Holland 👍
Sweet foreign coins! Love that old Stuber! Corn is tough for sure, I don't do them much but recently hit a new corn field spot and have been crushing it with buttons there and a few decent large cents! Happy New Year gentlemen and Wicked happy hunting 👊
I’ve had some of my best finds in corn fields and I agree that it is very difficult. What I like is when the farmers plow making a whole new field. I’ve hit the same fields year after year and some are still producing pretty good. Love your videos
Looks like I'm going to just be a spectator of your videos had house fire 2 days before Christmas lost everything so I'll be watching find some good Stuff Love your videos
Thats a so called 1/4 Stüber 1784 Juelich/Berg made in western Germany(Rhineland Region) in the later 18th Century. The Fact that its found in the USA makes it extremly extremly rare. Am german was bying and selling Coins for years and thats how i know
Hey its the video we get and I appreciate it. Corn or big weeds suck. Sometimes I feel if I had a sickle on the edge I can cut off the grass. Cool finds you got an immigrants coins from his country when he came to the states
How's it going Jason. Man speechless on the 2 foreign Coins. Great Hunt. Just caught up with your last I say 15 videos. All of awesome. Weather here has been bad. First time in maybe 5 years I haven't been able to go out. Driving me crazy. Take Care all of the crew
Congrats on the foreign coins. I like that buckle Matt! I have seen people take and tie a few boards behind their truck and drive through the field and mow down the stalks. But getting permission too do that is another thing.
I feel the pain with that cornfield. I use the 6” coil on my Legend in cornfields. You have to go a little slower to cover everything but you can get closer and in between the stalks a lot easier
My favorite detecting channel. Matt hunted out the first field just like that! I see stuff and don't know what it is all the time too Doug! Nice finds you guys and the weather looked great for hunting, hope we get some here.
Belgian Leopold cents and German Stubers are familiar finds where I live (The Netherlands, not far from German border). Would be interesting to know how they ended up across the pond. Maybe the farmhouse was inhabited by Belgian/German immigrants back in the days? I enjoyed this episode.👍
Jason, here in the South, people refer to Taco Bell as "Toxic Hell". Also, a quick question: How come nobody in the crew ever carries a magnifying glass? Great video!
Those two coins were amazing! I thought I had every type foreign coin......but I never saw either of those. Can't wait to see what else turns up out there when those stalks are gone.
This is fascinating and I think I may be ready to try detecting. It looks addictive haha. I have watched several of your videos, I know you guys brush coins in the field but do you do any other type of cleaning at home?
New subscriber. Absolutely love your channel. Educational and fun to watch all the various pieces of history you guys find. I think this would be a great hobby.
Why don't you stand to the side and swing lengthwise, that might even work in the narrow rows. Awkward but a longer swing??? Great finds but frustrating. Cheers, Rik Spector
That first coin you found... Had you found that in Norway I would say it was a "1 Skilling" from 1820... For some reason they always come up with those weird lines through 'em...
Hi there. I have just discovered your channel and would love it if you could do a test of the British built Viking VK30 which costs about £200 or if that is too expensive the Viking Vk20. They are great budget detectors and would be interesting to see how they compare with the other budget detectors you have tested 🙂
Nice finds Jason. On those narrow corn rows, you could swing your coils the opposite direction as you shimmy your feet along the other row next to it. Kind of like detecting parallel, along side a concrete sidewalk. That’s where the 6 inch coil would have been ideal. I have the Legend pro pack and I’m happy with it. Happy Hunts. _/ 👍
Very cool finds Jason! Two coins that I've never heard of. Maybe early German settlers, since Belgium and Germany so intertwined? Did you try going cross row on the swinging? Just a thought. Congrats and good luck on the next!
Wow, cool coins. I bet your right, that might have been a hessian soldiers coin. Maybe they lived in the house or stayed there for awhile. Cool history!
Those coins might be from German settlers who went to America through the Belgian harbor of Antwerp. Antwerp was a popular gateway for German migrants to America becouse it had a direct railway connection with Cologne (German Rhineland area) since 1843.
Great finds stalking through the field of corn! Wonder if those old foreign coins would have belonged to some Amish immigrants that may have owned that land at one time??
How can you not love dog tag Doug I see something but I don't know what it is love you Doug I'm going to miss Rip Van Winkle you guys might find something today
I think you found the original Amish farm! Curious - rather than walking forward through the corn rows, couldn't you sidestep along sweeping the lanes? That would be a slick move for a quarterback. HUP, HUP, HUP!
Hey Jason and all the fellow detectors who watch his channel. I just bought my first home in the country on 5 acres in NY. The house itself was built in 1988 but almost two halves of it is bordered by very impressive stone walls that date back probably 200 years. Upon exploring today I found a circular stone well that also dates back probably 200 years. I took my dads $60 cheap detector around the property and found a square actually close to the house, semi raised up, with hundreds of signals just below the surface. Original 1800’s house or barn on the property filled in years ago??? Regardless this “toy” detector only reads small signals at the most 3 inches. I know 1800’s gems can be 5-8 inches or more. Any suggestions on an easy to use detector around the $500 range? I will eventually email Jason but I’d like to hear from his viewers too.
A great first detector is the Garret AT Pro. It’s a rugged, super versatile detector that is waterproof up to 10 feet. Salt water detecting can be done but it’s definitely it’s weak spot. I have many detectors, that cost 2 to 3 times more than the AT Pro and I still use my AT Pro fairly regularly.

Great video. Some incredible finds. Those coins were very old but you were still able to identify them. Thanks for sharing!
3:40 I’m with Doug on Taco Bell. Yuck
Interesting information on corn fields.

Cool Leopold find! I found a two cent coin with Leopold dated 1833 back in 2019 !
Never seen those coins dug before! Great finds!
You guys had some very nice finds.I enjoyed your video and good Luck to all of you.

Good to see you swing your detector Jason sometimes, instead of following those other guys around with the camera . Nice original coin finds !
Just be glad that corn was harvested. Haven't you ever watched Children of the Corn? Don't ever go into the corn in the Summer...Gotta Love It!
Those foreign coins were awesome. That odd shaped buckle looks like it was for a horse halter.
Love seeing what you guys find.
Jason good video. Doug love that mangled fork. Kinda hard to eat from haha. Happy New Year.😄
Those coins were sweet finds Jason!
Another outstanding outing by the QH & crew!! WTG. Happy New Year 2023 for you all!! Blessings!
My favorite channel. Love these guys!

Love that old coin of a different variety. I love seeing all these coins.
Nice work boys! Corn can be tough, we do a ton. Try swinging the other way, it’ll make your day easier
German and Belgian coins. Terrific finds guys👋👍
Congrats on the foreign coins. I like that buckle Matt! I have seen people take and tie a few boards behind their truck and drive through the field and mow down the stalks. But getting permission too do that is another thing.
Nicely done guys I enjoyed the video. 🇺🇸
Cool thanks my friends six stars
Very interesting! Sorry about the difficulties, but y'all still had really interesting finds - even the buckles! Thanks for taking us along!
I feel the pain with that cornfield. I use the 6” coil on my Legend in cornfields. You have to go a little slower to cover everything but you can get closer and in between the stalks a lot easier
Awesome hunt guys ! Very interesting foreign coins ! Wondering about the for Dog tag Doug found , hopefully silver , thanks for sharing with us 23:15
Nice video as always guys. Jason I really like the two awesome coins the Belgian 1 cent and the 1784 Stuber.
Great finds brothers
Cool coins brother, fingers crossed you catch the homeowners and get that permission! 🤞🏼
My favorite detecting channel. Matt hunted out the first field just like that!
I see stuff and don't know what it is all the time too Doug!
Nice finds you guys and the weather looked great for hunting, hope we get some here.
Awesome and interesting foreign coins Jason! A very happy and healthy New Year to you, Dog Tag Doug and the rest of the Quarter Hoarder crew!
Not a bad day wandering around in the corn. I love finding foreign coins.
Now those coins are freaking awesome congratulations.
you go guys!! Good Luck!!

Lots of Germanic immigrants in the eastern US, my family being one of them. Hello from the US.
Could have been the landowners at the time hired German and Belgian field laborers and they dropped the coins working the fields.
Jason, here in the South, people refer to Taco Bell as "Toxic Hell".
Also, a quick question: How come nobody in the crew ever carries a magnifying glass?
Great video!
Forgetting the flashlight in the car? What a Rook!
Great finds.👍🏽
Those two coins were amazing! I thought I had every type foreign coin......but I never saw either of those. Can't wait to see what else turns up out there when those stalks are gone.
Thanks for the adventure!
Gorgeous house from a distance.
Nice day 👍👍👍

Did you have your detector set on foreign coins Jason😁
NICE.
Awesome video guys! Jason, what is the name of that flashlight? I’d like to get one if possible thank you.
Hey, a big field like that and just the three of you? Always ready to lend a hand... Or a coil anyway.
Swing parallel with the rows (in between them) I would. Or use a really small coil.
I can't wait to get back out but it won't be the same since my best digging buddy passed.

Love those old foreign coins. It’s almost like detecting in Europe
Next time walk across the rows and swing between them long ways you can get a little longer swing......
Go the other direction across the rows with small coils
I'm with Doug about Taco Bell.... that is NASTY stuff!
How can you not love dog tag Doug I see something but I don't know what it is love you Doug I'm going to miss Rip Van Winkle you guys might find something today
I recently found an abandoned church near our property. Waiting for the right day to take my detector out :D
Where can I get one of those Winnie The Pooh sweaters like Doug has? LOL! You should add them to your merch line.
I have sent you 3 emails on questions about metal detecting. Now I would like to know what kind of detector you use.
I think you found the original Amish farm!
Curious - rather than walking forward through the corn rows, couldn't you sidestep along sweeping the lanes? That would be a slick move for a quarterback.
HUP, HUP, HUP!

I want authentic Mexican food, not American tacos.
the way i do corn fields is i put the coil in front of me and just walk. works the same as if your swinging it
Looks like the same field at the start of the video ?
