I bought my 400 2 weeks ago and I just installed a 25" light bar yesterday, as well as a 28" light bar on my 500i. Any less weight is a plus! Now i'm gonna get a light bar for the 261c. I call them the holy trio!

Was up in the mtns one day and found me a stihl 026 on the road with a few scratches and was pretty much brand new ... waited around for about an hour or so.... saw still running strong to this day, thx whoever it was... that was back in the 90’s also
That's a hard knock my condolences I think you did the right thing replacing it at least you can move on and shorten the grieving period. I just bought a new 400c can't wait to run her.
I just received my ms400 cm with a 24 inch bar. It took me 5 months to get it. It cost me $1,112.00. I've only got about six tanks of fuel ran through it. What a great chainsaw!
Whether or not you left it on the back of your truck, you would think and hope that the person that found it would know it wasn't theirs and that the reason it was on the ground was probably because it did actually fall off a truck. Once they notice any kind of sign stating something about a lost saw, they could have responded to that. We all pull "senior moments" and forget things, but it is the dishonesty of the individual that kept the saw that bothers me most. Don't be too hard on yourself. Things happen. I'd be more upset at the person who did what they did by keeping your saw especially if it looked new.
I have heard of losing a saw off the back of the truck too and not getting them back!! Everybody has crap that happens, most important thing is not getting hurt over something!! I have never smashed or lost a saw but a couple months ago I did drop a ash tree and that twisted and went the wrong way and the tips of the very upper limbs scraped my previously spotless 2016 Tacoma truck!! Crap happens I guess, we just need to do the best we can!!! By the way, I think stihl, husky and echo in my area all make pretty good saws now!! They all have come a long way since the old days like auto tune and power to weight ratio, vibration damping!! Glad you are happy with your stihls, yours are hummers for sure👏👍☺️
Well, it is a destiny. Somebody probably needed that saw badly, more than you, so it went to him or her 🙂 I feel this case of a lost saw gonna be a case for teasing for years to come haha. The 400 is very good saw. i got a 211c, 362 and 462 and i love them all. Using all of them depending on the wood i cut. I hope your firewood business does well. Cheers!
@@jtraisedoutdoors8231 I also learned a REALLY learned a tough lesson by trying to sharpen my chain for my MS931 saw without wearing gloves. For the rest of my life, I have a daily reminder of what a sharp chain can do to flesh. 😳😳😳😳🤦🏾♂️

A very small distinguishing mark on the bottom of the saw for you to spot. And your Name large bold and your SSN under the cover for you to prove to the law that it is your saw. Those 400s are rare. I'd be introducing myself to anybody out cutting, looking for a 400, then discretely looking for the small mark on the bottom.
Great idea. I have some ID on it. Found out through my dealer that he can mark it stolen through Stihl and it'll pop up on the system if they run the Serial #.
@@jtraisedoutdoors8231 I do know about the Stihl and the serial number. Most likely the saw will be used or sold, and never see a dealer nor get checked. I keep the manuals with the Serial Number Sticker peeled off the saw and reapplied to the manuals cover page. Gots to find the saw first (locally, craigslist, facebook marketplace, ebay, etc.). Good Luck!
