That hurts my knees just watching it lol, you should build you a nice big bench for projects just like this Pete. Keep the videos coming, I don’t miss a single one!
Hi Pete, been thinking on starting a second coop and will be going in the same direction this time like you have with a larger shed. These nest boxes look like a great option. How have they been working out for you? Maybe you could do another video with them and tell us how they have worked out for you. Thanks, love your channel.
Love the video, and just ordered the smaller box for up to 20 chickens... my wood one works great, however I really like the ease and cleanliness of this one, I rarely have any poo or the like on my eggs, however its that occasional one that I dislike. Are you putting shavings or hay or straw in this?? Blessings
Thanks, actually you don't put hay or straw in these rollout nesting boxes. The hen goes in and lays her egg and the egg immediately rolls down to the other compartment.
sorry I don't care for anything made from, that type of metal...in our chicken coup..we built a wooden frame to support 5 gallon buckets that we collected from Calf milk replacer....put a two by six x ten at the back wall and screwed in 4 inch screw nails at the back of each pail,,, and then a 1x3 across the front of the pail to keep the nesting material and eggs from falling out....very easy to clean out and hose down everything was nice and white...and each laying chicken had a very private egg delivery nest...but to each there own..good luck in your assembly. .
yes that worked out very nice for us...we had at that time over forty hybrid hen..dual purpose, meat and egg layers..lot of them also hatched out eggs in the mid spring...that kept the freezer going...with any roosters that came along...they sure are great on the grill at any time of the year.... @@petebeasttexashomesteading
well my best cinnamon girl laid first egg this morning. but she laid it next to nesting box, maybe next time she'll lay it inside nesting box. i got hen gears medium box. they're all similar looking, but mine was much more difficult to build.
The 🐔🐓will want to look out the window👀sooo...lotsa poop 💩 on the nesting box guaranteed👍 .But nice set up. Be sure to put hay or wood shavings inside. Thanks for sharing Pete🐣🐥🐔🐓
It will be a freezer box in the winter. Will they like the cold in side? I would think that hay in a box would be more comfortable then wire mesh. I dont get why you are making more eggs. They are worthless for money? Do you eat a dozen a day?
I started with 2 boxes for 8 hens. Recently expanded to a 4 room condo because when they’re laying more regularly they fuss over the boxes when the one the like is occupied. Otherwise they lay outside 🤦♀️ silly chicklettes.
Exactly the best place to put it. If you put it on an opposing wall, the light from the window will be shining directly on it. The darkest part of a room is directly under a window.
The blue coop is turning into a chicken palace. That's a great place for chickens. I always like to watch you work.
Thanks 👍
We're impressed with your nesting box. The hens will love it!! Have a great day!
Thank you! You too!
Man I got stuck on step 7 and this REALLY helped! Thanks so much!

Thank you, I do have a big bench but it's cluttered with other stuff. I need to start cleaning up. 🙂
Looking good Pete, keep up the great work!
Thanks 👍
Always good thanks. Hope for many eggs. Best wishes
Thanks, I hope so too.

Thank you Pete! Greenhouse is up and HOT! I put an exercise bike inside! Can I use this coop for my ducks? Thx
Exercise bike inside your greenhouse is a great idea 👍 ducks would love a coop this size, but no roosting bars 🙂
You did a really nice job! Thank you - much appreciated...
Love it Pete !
Thank you 🙂
Thanks bro
Great Job !!!
what is degree of the floor?
I hope you get lots of good clean eggs Pete. I must have missed it, but is there a recommendation on how high off the floor to place it..? 👍👍💚🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓
Thanks, the recommended height is 18" to 24" inches.
@@petebeasttexashomesteading thanks pete.

That's okay, as long as it's working for you is all that matters.

Do you have insect screens on those operable windows?
Muito bom essa estrutura e top
Obrigado 👍
Love it!! 🐓
Thank you
do you place any hay in there or will the birds just use it as it?
No hay in the nesting box. They go in and lay their egg and the egg rolls down to the other compartment.

Hi Brenda, These are roll away nesting boxes and if I put hay in there, the eggs will not roll out to the other compartment.

Já procurei em vários lugares a que no Brasil não encontro
Esta é uma empresa americana e não tenho certeza se eles têm isso em outras partes do mundo.
tbh my girls prefer to lay in the covered kitty litter box that has sand and DE in it.

Cozy and dark right under the window?! 😜😆🤣😂
