Love everything about this one - from the sound of the birds, the color of the water and sky, to (of course) the limit of fish. Nice!

Thanks Bill, appreciate it. I really enjoy that spot during the year. It's not always productive, but when it is you can't beat it. The scenery is fantastic too!

Do you have a run down on your kayak I’m looking to do this exact thing but don’t want to spend a fortune being 20 so I’d like to keep a decent budget would need kayak and do u run a trolling motor?

Without trying to promote any specific company or run a full rig rundown, I can tell you you definitely want a pedal drive kayak or one with a trolling motor. There are many many different pedal drive systems and kayaks today. We happen to have hobie kayaks. They are perfect for what we do. You may be able to find a used pedal drive kayak for not too much and add a graph. You shouldn't have to break the bank. Just a little experience on the water, follow safety precautions, and try out a pedal drive. It really helps with jigging in areas with moderate current flow. Good luck.

What is your secret to staying vertical with pedal drive? I fish a Pescador pilot kayak and I’m finding it difficult to stay vertical. Thanks.

      Thanks for chiming in Alan,
It's really about turning your boat in the proper direction, depending on wind/current speed, where you can easily make adjustments. I might take a few mins to find it each trip, but once you do, just replicate it every drift. I like being able to make a peddle or two adjustment into the current to straighten out my angle.....then drift motionless until the adjustment is needed again. I might try to do a video on this next spring. Thanks for the idea and comment. Good luck, hope this helps a little. PS, it's tougher the deeper the water depth also.

Last time I fished Port Huron I almost got ran over by a boat racing back to start his drift.

You definitely have to be careful and always watch for disrespectful actions by others. Don't let it deter you.
