Being from Iceland, I love seeing content that's closer to me and that I can relate to a lot more than other zero waste youtubers. Also, I love your personality and your enthusiasm is inspiring!
Love to see you shop darling. Strawberries looked so yummy. Yes we would love to see you shop at a cheaper grocery store. Please. Have a wonderful day .
I loved this! I think I'm going to try doing it on my channel as I live in Japan and haven't seen anyone do it here! I like how you mentioned the price and convenience too. Most zero wasters are like "anyone can shop plastic free it's so easy and affordable" but really it's not
Ps-strawberries are always found in plastic in the USA...awesome you found in paper packaging ❤️ It was just strawberry season here so I picked some from an organic strawberries from a local patch & froze a bunch!😊
I'm jealous of your strawberries, I've yet to find any kind of berry not packaged in tons of plastic so I haven't had any in months lol! I'm trying to grow my own but that might take a year or two to produce
I love these kinds of videos, and would love to see more! Not to mention, I’m a lil nosey, and like to see what grocery stores outside the US look like. 😊
You did so good!! I have 1 store (sorta) near me that sells bulk items, but doesn’t have a huge variety. And most produce comes in plastic packaging at our grocery stores- it is definitely a challenge.
Thank you for this video! I don’t have a bulk store right near me, so this is helping me a ton as I’m trying to transition into the plastic free lifestyle right now:)
You did so well, I need to shop in Super Brugsen more! I would love for you to do a video on zero waste/plastic free vs. organic products. I find it so difficult to find products that are both things, it is either plastic free but not organic or organic but wrapped in plastic which really does not make much sense. I would like to hear your opinion on what you find more important when shopping and to answer if you think that it is more sustainable to buy non-organic but plastic free or the other way? I am personally on the plastic free train on this one but I would like to hear more peoples opinions :) Hugs from Silkeborg
It's one of the most common questions I get (really need to make a video about it soon haha) The bottom line is: there are ofc advantages to both things, but personally if I have to choose, I will go for the plastic-free options. Ideally, I go to my farmers' market where I can get organic AND plastic-free produce 🌿💚
I have exactly the same problem. I am from Germany, but live in Denmark now. In Germany exists an app, where you can via scanning the barcode of the product send automatically an email to the company to complain about the packaging of a product. It is called "replace plastic" (www.replaceplastic.de/#/scan). Does this or something similiar exist in Denmark/for the Danish market? Does anyone know?
Thanks for the video :) why didnt I thought of putting bread in my own bag? One of my struggles with less-waste shopping is the weight, if I buy stuff in glass it weighs a ton, and I am afraid something will break. I try to do my best, but I see room for improvement. Maybe you could do Lidl, it is cheap and in many countries.
In Canada we have a store called “Bulk Barn” and you can get so many things in bulk - especially spices (I always thought we were behind the times here) haha they let you bring your reusables too!
Except during the Pandemic Times -- they've discontinued their bring your own container program. It's been really hard to reduce plastic consumption during the pandemic.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, recycling paper is the same downcycling process with a huge ecological footprint as well as plastic is. Also the needed glues and rests of printing inks are not a thing that you want to have in your Strawberries... ☝️🌝 It's always easy to criticize people that are doing already doing a lot- almost perfectly. Nobody is perfect. 🤷Have a nice day and continue doing your best! ♡
The way i think of it if i "have to have it" then first glass, then aluminium, then paper, then dog forbid in plastic (but i'll use it to pick up dog shit).
Love this video, it has given me plenty of ideas. I have recently started re-using glass jars i purchased and would like to know if you soak the labels off (and if so, are they waste?) or do you leave them on?
Man I wish that kind of stuff was that cheap in the US stores even when they're in plastic let alone in glass. I feel like your grocery stores in EU value produce and spices more for the public. Once it opens back up again I gotta start going to the farmers market.
In the states, a lot of recycling plants stopped taking glass because it's difficult to clean and a safety hazard. Such a shame. I've been repurposing them but wish there were other options.
Hi Gittemary. Another great video as as usual. I have one question though regarding what you said about the box of nuggets. Obviously you didn't show the inside of the box but I would've thought that something like that would be full of crumbs and may not suitable to put in the recycling but should be composted?
What is your take on a certain "supermarket" refusing cash as a form of payment in Denmark(not København). Do you think supermarkets are starting to refuse cash as payment and which smarket is leading this trend?
I buy frozen foods and try to opt for anything that comes in cardboard instead of plastic bags ..but even the cardboard option has a thin plastic film on the cardboard itself(it's shiny) that can't be recycled right?
What did the cashier react to the bread in the canvas bag? Normally the plasticbags have a scanning code on them - did it bother them? And an amazing video!!!
I have never had a problem at this store. As long as you smile, and show clearly what's in your bags. That's why I only store one item per bag. Some people can get skeptical if it seems like your trying to trick them sort of, but if you're upfront it's not a problem :)
Let me tell u that some red food dye is made out of small bugs that are red inside and so ita not really vegan i m not sure which one it is but i m sure u can find out
I've been loving your videos.. but this one had me thinking who your audience is, and I guess they eat a more conventional diet, so maybe for them, this would be raising the bar. If you want to go 100% (almost) zero waste when it comes to food I have found that raw vegan is the way to go. That pesto you bought (which is pasteurized/heat-treated) can easily be made at home with 3-4 ingredients. And I don't know what ingredients were in those nuggets, but I find that those kind of products usually contain pretty horrible ingredients. Cutting those out for a month might actually help with the hormone balancing. Anyway, keep up the good work - I love what you do - thank you.

Of course we need to support you from the bottom of my heart
Loved seeing this! It’s very similar to the options in Norway, so it’s great to see the possibilities in a normal grocery store.
The vitamin C in strawberries will help absorb the iron from the dark leafy greens
Very realistic for me, shopping low waste at a normal grocery store in Sweden. Thank you for sharing! :)
I totally agree with the "wait until you can get it in a more waste-free version"! I do also plan my meals around that kind of mindset :)

Pumpkin Seeds, Flax Seeds, Sunflower Seeds & Sesame Seeds are also great for Hormones 😊

I am COMPLETELY the same way omg
They're better.

Splendid video and informative. Yes, please do a shopping trip at a bulk store and also farmers market if possible! Ciao

Superbrugsen actually also has organic frozen berries in cardboard boxes (like the nuggets) 👍
This is the best video. I also live in aalborg and I've been trying to go zero waste

You seen be good fun dancing in the store and youtube vids are great .
This was very relatable 😊 thank you so much for that!
You should do it in Aldi😊👍

love your videos!
Please make a video about this in Rema 1000 or Netto, that would be great 😍
I enjoyed this type of video!!
Thank you for this video!

I leave the labels on, over time they rub of, but I don't mind it looking like it had another life before 👍

Whaaaaat nooooo 😭
Hey, where in copenhagen is the bulkstore? Just moved there and would love it if you would recommend where to go. Nice video btw
lorelairory It’s called Løs and it’s located in Saxogade ✌🏼
@@Gittemary thank you, I will go and check it out 😊

Gillian Butler there are crumbs, but they are completely dry, so I just brush them out and then it’s fine. You can also compost. If you prefer
Strawberries 😍😍

EMAIL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES. The shop, the companies, everyone to stop the excess packaging.

These breads don't have a barcode. The cashiers look up their price on a list.
THANKS! Sounds amazing
