The takeoff is a very important moment in the show. If it makes you go "whoooaaaaaa!!" then that's a great start (pun intended) for the rest of the show.

Chinook engineer here - as far as I know, you wouldn’t. There’s a lot of risk involved with the rear rotor striking the ground so there’s plenty of other ways to move it around without abandoning the safety aspect.
You are out of flares and still need to get out of there so you go with the baffle them route. That’s all I got ‘cause that shit is crazy in so many ways.
