Shannon's head voice is one of the most impressive in Kpop Sohyang's head voice is so angelic as well as being one of the best technically. I was surprised by Park Hyo Shin's head voice, it's amazing My favorite is Park Ki Young, the tone of voice is so beautiful.
I'm in America and in December 2017 I put 'Real Religious Christmas Songs' into UA-cam and Sohyang purple dress version from IAAS2 was the first choice. I've never heard someone like her. I'm a little too old for KPOP I think. I like the Adult Contemporary side. Sohyang, Yeonji, SeungYeon, Ali, Ailee, Park Ki Young. Sohyang is my Blessed Spirit Sister. 🎤♥️👸🏻
Lena, Sohyang and Shannon Slay 6th octaves for me. Their head voice is technically untouchable in korea. I’m very impressive with Ki young’s head voice, she developed her HV so much. Thank you for your amazing video, love it. ❤️❤️
Yess!! Yeonji's is my favorite. It's so full and beautiful. Ailee and Sohyang slayed as always. I wasn't familiar with Jung Dongha's head voice, and I was very surprised! Shannon's development at such a young age is unbelievable. If a part 2 is planned- Lina and DIA also have very good head voices!!

Shannon's headvoice is still there. Accessing headvoice below the 2nd passagio is just as difficult as assessing your ceiling headvoice note. Meaning, resonating that D5 in 5:54 is just as hard as resonating above D6 for a soprano, and she did great.
The D6 in Dangerous woman is very much grounded, too, and there is almost no tension in her headvoice in "Hello". She still resonates on B5 in "hatred Farewell". She also has some nice Headvoice moments during Kpop Star 6. Less operatic sound doesn't mean less resonance or less freedom. Besides, there opera singers who strains like hell.

I get that this is supposed to be mostly pop (pop as in non-classical, not kpop) singers. But would've appreciated if there was some mention of Sumi Jo; her head voice was and probably still is the best of all Korean vocalists I've heard. Kim So-hyun (not SoHyang) is a lesser known Korean singer with some classical training who sang is Koreans musicals like a Korean version of Phantom, she too has a lovely head voice.

@@lovelearn4365 there is zero chest in a mask placed so by definition it can't be mix ... if you want examples for heady mix there is Dimash, Adam Lambert, Ha Hyun Woo, Lee Hyuk, ... for mask placed HV I can only think about Mitch Grassi from Pentatonix. If you listen carefully you will hear the difference. The easiest way to tell is when a singer goes down after the high note in a same breath: if he loses power it's usually mask placed HV if not, it could be mix. There are exceptions of course with really well trained singers. I'm talking about the contemporary definition of HV tho if you're talking about the classical definition, well yes HV=mixing

Just because she went more secular in 2010, it doesn't mean she debuted in 2010. Even TV shows acknowledge her seniority in the industry. For example, Begin Again (2020) introduced her as a singer who debuted 25 years ago (this year it is 26 in Korean calculation).

Where is Redvelvet's Wendy, she is one of the best head voice among kpop GG, she consistenly support head voice up to A5, has supported Bb5 and C6, also she can make nice placement head voice around B5-D6

@@hotissue4948 that is a great quesfion. Yes. Nowadays eunji can support her head voice up until about G5/G#5. But she is still steadily gaining control :) If I had to choose I’d say eunji is slightly better overall. Because consistently Taeyeon has G3/G#3-C#5/D5-F5/F#5 whereas Eunji has F#3/G3-D5/Eb5-G5/G#5. But Taeyeon is definitely a great vocalist too. Her resonance is insane!
I think Park Ki Young has the most powerful head voice. Even better than Sohyang in my opinion. Basically Park Hyo Shin has a cheat code for his voice. But where is my favorite kpop vocal Jonghyun. He is or was literally the kpop head voice king.
I wasn’t sure about including her simply because her head voice is relatively weak in comparison to the others. She’s definitely one of the best belters out there tho. I might include her if I ever make a part 2 but don’t worry. She’ll be in many future videos ^^

A man who is taking over everything as the best in the world is "DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN" 26 from Kazakhstan, he sings in 12 languages, speaks 4 and is polishing up on English and Chinese. If you don't know who he is or anything about him I suggest two songs "S. O. S." and "SINFULL PASSION" Every song he sings is totally different than any other he has done. Hint: Some songs after name put in Eng. Sub. and click CC button!! Some have English sub titles!!! "THATKPOPFAN" you are amazing, thank you so much for what you do!!!
The title is kinda misleading beacouse Korea have plenty of vocalists who have better head voice than the some of the singers in the video but are not part of the type of singers you included.
