Keep in mind that support and straining isn't black and white, there's a spectrum and some of these notes fall in the middle of the spectrum but all these in the video hold support to a certain extent, though they might lack openness and freedom.

And I think Yeonji can support up to E5! But you must look for the note, because only happens when she is phrasing.

@@benjaminsotocornejo3653 What actually happens is that when we phrase, we sing lighter and softer, because sustaining requires a lot of strenght, this straining thing is bias, no good singer strain, and a good singer is anyone who can sing in key and appeal to na audience.
Soyou's is actually C5 or C#5 during Hurt back in 2014.

Sohyang is really impressive, but can we talk about Yuju's random supported F5? 'cause everyone on that performance who did the same part as her only used falsetto, Yuju just went like: "I'm a main vocalist, I can probably do it in mixed voice." But sadly, that's only her highest supported belt. F5 is still out of her supported range, considering it was just a fluke. I hope that she can consistently support her F5s and up, it would make her a top vocalist in this generation, even better than Wendy, the current best female main vocalist this generation.

Indeed. HaeRi is consistent on A3/Bb3-F5/F#5 whereas MinKyung is consistent on A3/Bb3-C5/C#5. However MinKyung has actually supported G#3-E5-A5 before. I hope she will improve someday

Yes, she has supported that note on multiple occasions, though not consistent at all. and that note does carry support but it's not perfectly free of tension

Are you sure Park Kiyoung, Ock Joo Hyun and Lena park notes were supported? They all sound strained to me...
tbh with you I'm not 100% sure haha. I know Kiyoung CAN support up to D5 just nobody ever pointed out which one are/aren't (like Lee Yejoon) and her heady placement makes it tricky. Lena has supported that note in that song before and this one does carry some support, and Joohyun's also carried support though it's tense (it's the highest she's ever carried support up to).

@@davidemartorana22 You don't know what support is. As the vídeo goes on and on, the singers start to sound more and more like Broadway/ballad kind of singers. Even tho they were using a lot of compression/distortion on these high notes, (which is actually right because they were belting) you claim the others singers strain but they actually sing these high notes in the same way?
@@drigao16 using "distortion"? you mean resonance, open throat and correct placement? and being a ballad singer doesn't have anything to do with how good you sing. the singers shown here use proper diaphragm support up to whatever note is shown, above, they may have problems like throatiness (using muscles in the throat to push the notes out instead of using diaphragm muscles) and too much tension in the larynx/jaw/tongue etc.

Because everything you say is subjective, are your interpretation of what their doing, and is probably wrong, because in the real world everything that get in the way of singing will affect the key(flat/sharp or out of tune), which is not the case here.
