    Oh I forgot to mention many fridges have ice and water through the door, in my experiences that's a bad idea as it can give you lots of issues with icing in the ice feed Shute and water leaking. The Mitsubishi have acknowledged that issue and avoided any openings into the fridge which stops air and moisture entering the fridge. After owning several fridges with water and ice in the door, its convenient but not worth the hassles and shortening the fridges lifespan. Kudos to Mitsubishi for keeping it simple and still providing an ice maker.

    Thank you so much for the awesome review. This is the only review I could find on this Fridge. Can I please ask a question? I have recently bought an apartment that comes with a fridge space around H:1800, W:920, will this fridge be alright to operate in the space? I noticed there's a vent above the Fridge space (at the back). Will this help the fridge to vent properly?

    • @ijoey9587
      @ijoey9587  4 роки тому +3

      King Jin Hi Jin, In my opinion this width is too small for this fridge. My opening is 1800 x 1200 which doesn't allow much in the height, I countered this with ample side space and top venting. I think you may find your fridge will sweat and potentially overheat. I am really sorry it may be worth reworking your cabinet, it's a great fridge and worth the effort in my opinion. Good luck hope this helps you out. Joe Antonio.

      Hi Kristen, Yes I am very happy with the fridge, runs cold, runs silent and very functional. Biggest disappointment is no plumbed water connection for ice maker, you need to fill the internal water container. Hope this helps Joe Antonio.

      Hi Kristen, I love this fridge; Gripe 1 no connected water supply for ice maker. Gripe 2 the cooler trays inside the fridge a full width, that means opening both doors when getting to our cheese. So there you have, if you think this will bug you buy another fridge. For me I knew about the downside before I purchased this fridge, the flip side it's a great fridge really well made. The well made feature is really really hard to get in a fridge. So what do I know about fridges anyway? I built commercial fridges for many years, so I have some idea :) good luck JoeAntonio

      @@ijoey9587 Mitsubishi Electric are seriously one of the more underrated brands. People just don't associate with it, but basically every appliance they make is rock solid, blows most of the competition out fo the water in reliability and raw engineering!

      Glad this review helped. I couldn't find any independent reviews either. If I had to pick faults it would be the maker is slower than our other fridges. Also the ice maker isn't plumbed so you need to fill manually. I think the design team need to provide an option for plumbed via a switch. We love the fridge, big improvement over side by side layout , and this fridge feels like quality and good workmanship and I used to build custom fridges so I'm hard to satisfy

    Hi Joe, so glad I’ve found your vdo review. I just bought one myself and found that the doors are a bit out of the alignment (one is a bit lower than another). Wondering if you has experienced that at all and what did you do to fix it. Thanks!

    • @ijoey9587
      @ijoey9587  4 роки тому +4

      Congratulations on your new fridge The door alignment is normal for fridges. You need to adjust the foot in front of the caster. Door misalignment is caused by the flooring in houses not being level. I believe the leveling process is covered in the user manual for the fridge.

    Hi Joe, I've seen a lot of bad reviews on the left door mechanism. Is that really bad or is it just people not using it properly?

    • @ijoey9587
      @ijoey9587  3 роки тому +5

      Hi Jacob, The only observation I can make on the left door is; if you open the door NOT using the handle at bottom of the door, and you grab the door from the side of door which causes the centre divider to engage whilst the door is open then blocks closing the door. If this is what you are describing then its sloppy use of the door of how was not intended to be used. Personally I don't have any issue with this the door function. Maybe the manufacturer could write on the centre divide this is not a handle :)

      Hi Jason, there is no plumbing on this fridge, and then you ask why not?. I can only guess that designers did not trust town water supply, and expect bottled water to be used. The fridge comes with an internally installed container that you can fill holds about 1 litre. Hope this helps Joe Antonio

    Hi. Our space is 1800 high also, but our black LX630 has arrived but seems to be right up against the cupboard above and can’t go in like yours does. Did you adjust and lower the front casters so it could fit better?

    • @ijoey9587
      @ijoey9587  4 роки тому +1

      We have a wind down foot in front of caster that we only adjusted to just contact floor so as not to raise, ours is snug fit just clearing top hinge of fridge. Our top cupboard is very shallow so it does not restrict airflow.

  • @Dezroy
    @Dezroy 4 роки тому +2

    Thanks for taking the time to put this up.
    How do you find the performance of the fridge without the recommended 10cm of clearance above the fridge (I believe that's what the manual says?)
    I've been looking at this fridge, but my alcove is a similar height to yours (1800mm?)
    Thanks in advance.

    • @ijoey9587
      @ijoey9587  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Nick, Yes that was a concern that I initially had, after all if you don't have enough clearance you could have issue with performance; compressor overheat, condensation etc. In my case I was lucky that the cupboard in front is only a half shelf so very narrow. What you can't see in the video is the void that runs up behind fridge allowing lots of clearance and breathing space. The fridge performs really well almost silent, and maintains constant temperature. Hope this answers your question. Regards JoeAntonio

      @ijoey9587  4 роки тому +3

      Hi David, yes the 2 internal draws are on slides not runners, not really an issue, there very narrow so don't carry much weight. If I want to be fuzzy the draws should be split as you need to open both doors to open these 2 internal draws. As for the fridge temp control is consistent, noise is very low, and the glass front is very good in practice, always had SS before . Regards Joe

    I was looking at this today, I think the fridge is perfect, but I couldn't pull the trigger as I can't think of any use for the wide chilled and super cooling drawers. I don't really keep cheese, deli items, flat breads etc, so they look like a waste of space that could have been used to provide additional shelf height or even another shelf altogether. I buy fish and meat fresh, and if I need to keep for longer they go in the freezer. The lower fridge shelf has a large flat light at the back that seems to claim about 10cm of depth.

      Just thought I’d reply to my own comment… I actually bought this fridge a year ago and love it. I did end up using the two chilled drawers. There’s a lot of space and I don’t really have any faults to complain about. One thing though is to ensure you keep fruit and veggies in separate plastic bags because if you keep them in the veggie drawer without them they will dry out very quickly.

      @@camilliasoong7145I keep various cheese, bacon, ham, sausages in the two drawers. Although I originally said I don’t keep cheese, in fact I love cheese but my wife hates it, so for a long time I didn’t eat it, but gradually I’ve passed it back into my routine, and I have quite a few different kinds. The colder of the two drawers is for things I want to use over a longer period but don’t want to freeze them. The veggie drawer is really nice, I’m very pleased with the size of it. Everything remains fresh so long as it is kept in bags (I just keep it in the same plastic bags from the produce section of the supermarket). I had tried leaving produce exposed to the air and it dries up very fast. Normally produce is eaten fairly quickly, like, we buy enough for around 1 week, and it remains fresh, but things like tomatoes and fruit could be in there for a few weeks, no problem. Some veggies have gone off if not eaten within a week, such as broccoli.
