i think it would be beneficial to give examples of bad dexes, it is hard to really understand what to avoid. there are too many other good dexes, so understanding the bad ones is even more important that when it comes to the centralized ones

I understand your disposition on using mobile devices for crypto transactions. My only caveat to that is simply it depends on one’s security practices/skills/knowledge & comfort zone on limiting the exposure to & loss of coins vs. convenience. In the adoption journey it will be impossible to avoid mobile use in crypto. But your points are well taken & absolutely sound & solid security practices. No one can legitimately argue otherwise. A true DEX shouldn't require KYC. Unfortunately many DEXs have centralized components,. For the first time in the industry, we are having a fully decentralized exchange. It's called Injective Protocol. It's a layer-2 decentralized exchange with no single centralized component. It's fast, has deep liquidity and offers derivatives trading too apart from spot and margin.

You are utterly powerless with these devices... (E) The mobile nature makes it easier and more likely to lose or get stolen (F) The high resolution inconspicuous security camera on the ceiling at that cafe you are sitting in just recorded everything you just entered... There are way more reasons not to use your mobile for this type of thing but I think you can already see why its a very bad idea...
Operating systems like iOS are known for having backdoors installed for various reasons. But the fact is, a backdoor can be used by more than the party who demanded it and there are very smart hackers in the crypto space who I think are capable of taking advantage of this. I just think you should respect your crypto investments and with that mindset, pursuing the best storage options in my opinion do not include the use of mobile devices. Indeed it sucks, but it can happen. The thing to note here is that the hacker was only able to affect the coins of trades that he was participating in, he didn't gain access to anyone's particular bank account, or their wallets, because Bisq doesn't ask for or store any of that information. Actually it's not even available on the App store yet. It required an invite from the developers so you can use in Test Flght on OSX. Available on MAC, Windows, and Linux.

Exceptional vid but, which of the 5 do you prefer or do you use? Everyone's certainly not going to use all 5. I already know I wouldn't go with the last one Atomic dex & the bisq hack spooks me off so I've narrowed it down to 2 outta 4 even tho I like bisqs mechanism.

I prefer to see which ones stand the test of time first. I've been covering DEXs for the past 3+ years and as the new ones mature and if they last then I will speak more about them.

Mostly garbage really. . They get hacked, become more centralised or get pressurised by govts. Some are very difficult to use. .maybe the Kyber or Block net one.

As soon as I clicked the stake button my Cardano was sent out to another address and the Exodus staff never helped me get it back and told me to report it to my local police! :( Is it possible to track it or get it back? They like to emphasize that they are regulatory compliant, so I put them in the "non-custodial" box. Also, as long as the Nash team is the sole controller of the 5 nodes for the exchange, I can't say it can be qualified as a DEX at all. If this changes in the future and they open up that possibility for the public in the future then that's a start at least. Also the co-founder doesn't believe an exchange can ever be decentralized, that says more about the future of that one then anything else. (Suffice to say, I'm not too impressed.)

NickStar 007 usually those who choose to create non-custodial exchanges and have that opinion on the impossibility for a real DEX because they aren’t willing to pursue decentralization over the convenience and often times liquidity that particular centralization can provide. Their opinion really is not that a real DEX can’t actually exist, it’s that they profit more and find easier success in going the centralized route. My opinion is that maintaining regulatory compliance might very well slow them down and be more costly in the long run and it’s always better to invest time and energy into decentralized options for the sake of privacy protection and ultimate longevity. I’m curious to know what the team has to say about the future of the nodes.

how to buy bitcoin on DEX? is BISQ the only option?
If you want to purchase with fiat, then yes, like I said in the video, the only DEX option I know that allows for this is Bisq.

It requires trust, and as such it should be treated with caution. You're assuming the risk, I just hope the reward is worth it.

There's also Uniswap, but it's ETH and ERC20 specific. It quickly became my favorite DEX lately because it integrates perfectly with MetaMask.
