I just started taking diltiazem er today and was searching for info when I found this video. I wanted to say thank you for this in depth explanation of the drug. I took mine this morning and have felt tired all day. If it continues I'll consider changing to the evening.

I just started this medication after a hospital visit. i am on a120 mg and have been taking it in the morning. I find myself tired a bit dizzy when I stand up, I have noticed the chest pain has subsided and is now a tolerated ache that comes and goes with my asthma. Thank you for explaining this medicine in such detail it has been very helpful and I may switch to taking this medication at night.
My medication is now Diltiazem 180mg MR after long term Metoprolol and short term Nebivolol. Prescribed for premature ventricular contractions caused by scarring from a viral infection. Feel much better, no lethargy.
Dr. Landow, I was wondering if you can comment on Cilnidipine. It looks like it is a better version of Amlodipine but for some reason it is not approved by FDA.
I take it for SVT 120mg ER. I take it early in the morning. I have a question. My prescription said to take it in the morning. I never thought to ask my cardiologist about taking it in the evening . When I do take it in the morning. I have tp tell myself when I first take it don't move around so much. It will have me kinda loopy
My heart rate went up to 173 BPM once when I went to do groceries I believe while I was wearing a holter monitor but during sleep the lowest it dropped down to 54 or 57 BPM. My cardiologist put me on Diltiazem ER 60 mg. I'm starting on it tomorrow and I am having my fingers crossed it works well. She said it can also help with my PVC's.
@@radi0activedonutsx3 STOP Scaring people. Diltiazem does not make you nearly fainted. Nobody knows additional details of your health and underlying conditons. Diltiazem is well tolerated for millions of folks who take it. I take it for PVCs and it helps control it and I rarely get PVCs with 120MG. If anything, I felt a little tired after the first and second dose but I felt normal on the 3rd dose.
@@billn.1318 Just cause it worked for you doesn't mean it will work for everyone. It was a terrible med for me, but Losartan works really well for me.... And I know it doesn't work well for some. Losartan and Diltiazem is well tolerated by millions but there will always be some out there who do better on different meds.
I am 62 and have HOCM. I am on Ramipril for high blood pressure and now have been prescribed Diltiazem. I am worried about the ACE Inhibitors with HOCM. I read that they shouldn’t be used with HOCM. Is this correct?
Has anyone taken this to correct PVCs? About 2 weeks ago I started getting hundreds of PVCs daily out of the blue. I am already on amlodipine but my doctor suggested switching to this because it may help with PVCs. Wondering if others have had any success with this.

@@WalturdTheCat works good for me… keeps my heart rate down… my heart does not spike like it used 2… if it does it comes down within a couple mins ..

@@hawaiianprestigecars8493 terrible fucking med. Took it only one day and nearly fainted. Stayed with losartan instead.

Can Cardizem sr 90 be taken with a gap after two days?
I had a bad reaction to this drug. It gave me shortness of breath and made my right lung feel as if it was swelling up.
I’ve just started taking these and I feel awful of them.
