    Well, you delivered on your promise; I did laugh out loud when the test failed. Like others, I appreciate your transparency. Also, this technique is going to save me over an hour of work as I thought I would have to remove the old T buried in a tight spot. No longer. Thank you!

    I have a 1/2 inch with an end cap but only 1/4 inch is protruding from the wall.I figured i will cut the end cap to expose the inside of the end cap and apply this principle.I want to remove the end cap and replace it with an elbow.I will have to buy a bird beak pliers when stores open tomorrow.

    Nice, what setting did you use on the heat gun ? Maybe one could use one of those adapters to reduce the diameter of the nozzle, like that the heat could be directed inside, although that would probably heat parts of the inside that we also don't want to heat up....

    Paul, I need to remove the outside of the joint. The 1/2” pipe is in the wall and I need to keep that. The 90 on the outside of the wall is what I need to revive and keep the inner 2” pipe cause there’s very little of it to put a new joint on anyway. Any ideas?

    • @paulcreelman2833
      @paulcreelman2833  Рік тому

      Sorry didn't see her question a year ago my suggestion be cut the 90° angle female is close to the pipe is possible hit the outside 90° remnant to 230° screw the outside of the right angle Residual it should peel easily off the original p v c pipe

    • @paulcreelman2833
      @paulcreelman2833  Рік тому +1

      Sorry about bad typing heat the joint Two two hundred thirty degrees check it with an infrared thermometer
      when it's hot score with
      a Box knife Be careful not to go down to the original p v c With the knife. While the Coupling is still hot and scored Maybe you can tease off the now soft ninety angle coupling Good luck

    well, 2 hr is too much, but less than 20 seconds is too short . . .just give it 5 minutes at room temp of 70-75 F . . .if it's colder it could take more.
