I really love your videos. You are so down-to-earth and family oriented. Your little girl is getting so big and More adorable everyday. My granddaughter missed you too she kept asking me "nana, where is busy bees?" I can't wait to show her the video when she gets home.
Hilarious adorable that little one is on camera today. I wish some of that food. That little one is very lucky!!!! You look very natural with your daughter!!!!
These are great! :) I´ve made them several times now, I also tried them without meat and different veggies, my favorite mix was mushrooms, carrots and green asparagus. I think I got a bit addicted to rice cakes :D
Tried it,i used 1pkt dried rice cake, soak 12 hours , i only added 1/2 tsp salt to the marinated sauce , after took out one tbs for meat marinating, i added 1/2 cup water to the left over marinated sauce, all ingredients remains same, it was soooo delicious.. My sons are picky eaters, this one they don't say a word, juz took a bit than full plate they go, 🤣🤣 thank you so much chef for sharing this delicious recipe 🙏😊😍
Is a thing even mixed if you don’t say mixmixmix ? I don’t think so 😉. My husband and son will love this - they’re the meat eaters in the family - and we’ll definitely try it soon!
Made a vegan version of this using mushrooms as the meat and it was so tasty! Love the texture of the rice cakes though I either need to soak them for a longer time (I did about 1 and a half hours in hot water) or use more liquid when cooking (I used about 1.5C to 200g rice cakes)... I have half a bag leftover so excited to experiment I've NEVER used this ingredient before and your video was a great help in gauging how to prepare it 💜
I definitely need to put this on my list of recipes to try. My favourite Asian comfort food is Hainanese Chicken Rice, but this recipe is so much faster! My Mother- and one sister-in-law are both Malaysian. My favourite Chinese New Year thing to do is have a Steamboat or Yum Cha.
I got so excited when I saw that you’ve uploaded a video for an Asian recipe! 🧡Looks very delicious and I will definitely have to try it soon. Can you upload recipes for appetizers for a party or potluck recipes?
it looks sooo good! I'll probably try this with tofu as my protein! i think there would be a lot of people (me included) who would really enjoy more vegetarian/vegan recipes too!
Omg I love rice cake. My mom makes it every time I come home to visit. Too bad the Asian supermarket by where I live is awful so I can't make this.😥 I'm still hoping I can make some Asian dishes this year and introduce it to my baby since this will be the first time we're not traveling back to NYC for Lunar new Year with my family.
Good day, Ma'am. How are you? I just tried this recipe, and it did not turn out at all the way I expected. First watching your video I thought maybe adding the corn starch to the chicken marinade was making your wok stick. I still believe that to be the case, because I got the same result. Also I think it should be mentioned that the rice cakes should not sit for more than a couple of minutes after draining the water from them otherwise they stick very bad. I should have scrapped the dish after the chicken started to stick, but I pressed through. To make a long story short, the final product was a gooey sticky mess. The good news is IT STILL TASTED GREAT!!! My advice would be to add the corn starch (mixed with 1/8 cup of water) as one of the final steps.
Hi Bryan! So sorry it was so sticky!! Did you use the dry rice cakes or the fresh ones? I should have mentioned that the fresh ones don’t need to be soaked at all. The dried ones are pretty hard still after soaking... but I love your tip about the corn starch! I’ll try that next time. Thanks for pressing on and trying it!!
Good day, Ma'am. Thank you for your response. I'm pretty sure I ruined the rice cakes. They were a different brand than the one you used for your recipe, so I followed the instructions on the package. I soaked them for a few minutes then added them to boiling water until they floated to the top (which turned out to be the moment they touched the hot water). I should have skipped THAT step and followed YOUR instructions instead. I believe your method with the rice cakes would have produced much better results. I will try your recipe again, because the dish tasted fantastic! I just wasn't pleased with the overall texture, but I believe I will get it right next try. Thank you so much for the hard work you put into the video and the recipe. Cheers!
This looks amazing, but is there any way to get around the oyster sauce? I have a shellfish/crustacean allergy & even traces of something like oyster sauce can get me in trouble. I know I'll lose some of the distinctive flavor if I sub in more soy sauce, but I wondered if there were vegans or vegetarians who had a favorite substitution, maybe? Also, her collection of bowls just gets more awesome all the time! 😃
@@meenuchadha9718 Oh thank you!! 💙 Your son is lucky to have you looking out for him...it can be a really stifling allergy, so any time you can get something similar it makes you feel a little closer to the general human race. It's nice to have options! 👍
i saw this on your instagram story and i was so excited :) :) this looks so yum! i made bibimbap last night and a vegetable pancake it was so delicious!
That was nice! In my hometown, roasted pork is an old tradition for Christmas and NewYears, but it's being replaced with turkey over the years. Roasted lamb is also a common meal on holidays.
Looks so easy and delicious! I feel like the sauce will go well with beef and rice noodles as well! Kinda like beef chowfun (idk if that's the correct name lol)
Seeing these adorable babies on my favorite You Tube channels are killing me! My kids are grown and I want to go back in time and do it all over again. It makes me yearn for a grandchild!
They are really, really ,really thick rice noodles. Commonly found in Korean markets. They look like white tubes. In the video, the rice cakes are thinly sliced.
They are chewy and delicious and unlike anything I have ever had. She described it exactly...like a gummy bear. They’re tasteless but soaks up any sauce you use.
I have some leftover rice cakes from when I made ddeokbokki but they're cut into rolls instead of slices. Would I be able to substitute that shape in this recipe? Regardless, I definitely want to try this recipe out!
I love Asian food that's my favorite food to eat. I make a version of egg rolls and I learned from a Korean friend when my husband was in the service. I've never made dumplings but would love to. I watched how you cooked yours but how do you know for sure that the pork is cooked on the inside?
I love rice cakes but this recipe is WAY too salty. I would add less salt. Also I would add less oyster sauce or none at all. It makes the sauce really strong which overpowers some of the vegetables.
I feel kinda silly right now but I have no idea what rice cakes are. I only know of those circular crunchy cardboard rice cakes 😂 I will have to keep an eye out for some Korean/Shanghai rice cakes now because they look really interesting.
I really love your videos. You are so down-to-earth and family oriented. Your little girl is getting so big and More adorable everyday. My granddaughter missed you too she kept asking me "nana, where is busy bees?" I can't wait to show her the video when she gets home.

I'm making my mom's version of rice cakes for a Chinese New Year potluck next weekend!
Yummmmm!!
Trader Joe’s just started carrying Korean rice cakes in their frozen section - great timing this vid appeared on my feed! Looks delish!
That dish looks delicious and your daughter has gotten so big and is so cute.
Yes. Tteok-guk is correct 😊
It's looks so delicious, I should try it! Good job, this meal will hits the spot. 😉
너무 맛있어보여요~ 영상미도 너무 좋다
This dish reminds me of my mom making this for our family. Thank you for the recipe.
Omg ... yummy I love buckets of bukchoy and the mushrooms 🍄... do you know how to make the center of the moon cakes 🥮? Or to make a mood cake ?
Made this tonight! I recommend leaving the salt out of the sauce. I only did half the amount of salt in the recipe and it was still too salty!
Yup same definitely do any added salt.
This look so good! An idea for asian food is mu shu "pork" made with jackfruit
Julia Finn great idea!
I really like the variety of food that you make in your videos!
it looks sooo good! I'll probably try this with tofu as my protein! i think there would be a lot of people (me included) who would really enjoy more vegetarian/vegan recipes too!
Omgggg her daughter is sooo cute why is no one talking about that;(
I LOVE DIN TAI FUNG! mmmmm

Yum! I love when my grandma makes these! I’m going to try this with tofu!
L🥰🥰KS amazzing... I can def eat this and need to put in my recipe list... thanks for sharing your recipe ✌😋👍
It looks so delicious! I look froward to trying it :D
Amazing Dzung!
Looks yummy! Is this recipe easily doubled? Would you just double everything? Any substitutions for the oyster sauce?
shalar01 I’ve read in the past that you can use Worcestershire sauce. I usually have oyster sauce on hand but one time I didn’t.
It looks delicious. What brand is your wok?
You have such a sweet voice.
Merry Xmas ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this recipe!
Can you please make a video on how to get turn your wok black

Hi grey roses! There is a vegetarian oyster sauce that is made with mushrooms available at Korean stores, my son is also allergic so I use that.

I love to add sliced cabbage as my veggie with the rice cakes! I love the firm, crunchy texture it lends to the dish
I love DTF's rice cakes :)

You didnt season it with salt and pepper?
Aww your daughter reminded me so much of mine (namely the sleep sack and grumpiness when awoken from a nap). So cute!
Looks so easy and delicious! I feel like the sauce will go well with beef and rice noodles as well! Kinda like beef chowfun (idk if that's the correct name lol)
Can you make a lower sodium Chicken mei fun ?!?!?!
This looks absolutely delicious! Yum! So fresh and easy and yummy and healthy! Thank you for another great video!
i love the energy in your video. tried the recipe, i would have preferred to cook the rice cake for longer, and it was a little salty.
Where is your sweater from? 💞
If food sticks on a wok. Your wok is not hot enough. Also get a nice Chinese spatula.
Rice cakes 😍😍😍 thank you for this recipe !
I love rice cakes, and yours looks so delicious!
I suggest that add the corn starch after marinated the meat about 15mins. Let the meat fully absorbed the sauce first
just made this. delicious!
I have to try this recipe. My kids would love it
Will you and Nate be teaching Erisy vietnamese/korean/both?
We’d love to do both but korean will be challenging since nate doesn’t speak

So. What exactly ARE rice cakes?
I am glad I'm not the only one wondering that! 🤔
I also want to add that they come round tube shapes a few inches long.
I love the look you give the camera after you take the first bite! Lol!
I have some leftover rice cakes from when I made ddeokbokki but they're cut into rolls instead of slices. Would I be able to substitute that shape in this recipe? Regardless, I definitely want to try this recipe out!
You can still use them! If they’re fresh, you don’t need to soak them!
How do you suggest reheating them? In the past, leftover rice cakes have all either gotten really soggy on me, or dry in the middle :(
Elizabeth Van Winkle same! Reheating rice cakes is always a headache
LOVE rice cakes 🤤 and LOVE this channel
you are the cutest
“More for me” shrug* hahahahaha I love your family. I’m so going to make this and sub the chicken for tofu or seitan.
I love Asian food that's my favorite food to eat. I make a version of egg rolls and I learned from a Korean friend when my husband was in the service. I've never made dumplings but would love to. I watched how you cooked yours but how do you know for sure that the pork is cooked on the inside?
What did you say you need to do to your wok? Ours sticks really bad too
Absolutely love all your videos so so much xxx
I love rice cakes but this recipe is WAY too salty. I would add less salt. Also I would add less oyster sauce or none at all. It makes the sauce really strong which overpowers some of the vegetables.
Looks delicious
Dzoug what aree u doing with the mushroom silly lol
Maybe some indonesian recipe
Oh my gosh this looks so good.
ahahha Erisy is so cute, c'mon guys sharee vids. This woman deserves more views!
What brand of oyster sauce do you use?
Did you say rest in peace Boo? Who is that?
This dish would be better if using kwetiau (thick rice noodles) instead of rice cake. Hehe ✌
I have also seen the sliced rice cakes in the frozen section of HMart.
If I swap the chicken with beef would that be okay?
More yummy
Seems like a Taiwanese dish
I feel kinda silly right now but I have no idea what rice cakes are. I only know of those circular crunchy cardboard rice cakes 😂 I will have to keep an eye out for some Korean/Shanghai rice cakes now because they look really interesting.
Just made this and it tasted too salty. I would suggest holding off on the 1/2 teaspoon of salt as the soy sauce may be salty enough.
Yummmm!!!
Oh yum!!
What does bok choy taste like
Bjr pourriez-vous me mettre la recette en français Merci

How come u dont use your stove.. So nice😄
