@@ItzZay1 The New York special takes place between season 3 and season 4 that means Adrigami and Lukanette are officially dating during this time period. 5:10 Am I the only one who remembers that at this point, per the special being *after* the season 3 finale, that both Adrien and Marinette are *canonically* dating Kagami and Luka respectively at this point? That's the thing that always bothered me about this special, the fact that Adrien and Marinette are seeing other people makes both Alya and Nino look like assholes and horrible friends for trying to shove the two together while they are already in committed relationships, as if they're trying to get their friends to commit infidelity. Aeon and Jess did it too but they don't know about either Kagami or Luka so they get a pass. What makes this even more galling is the fact that one of the two's significant others is the brother of their other friend, Juleka, who probably wouldn't take kindly to Marinette taking advantage of her brother's trust in her nor the fact that Alya is pushing her to do that. This subplot was just a really bad idea since with that knowledge in mind, it makes the shipping moments less "cute" and more "cheating". And keep in mind that these are supposed to be the heroes who, according to Thomas Astruc, "deserve to have their Miraculous" since "mean people don't and never will deserve a Miraculous". So tell me, what messages does this send to the audience? That it's okay to go off into another country with someone else while your significant other is back home and have intimate moments with that person while your partner is unaware? That this is a thing "nice" people do? If that's the type of message you send with your show, then you need to learn more about morals.
Exactly, this is the major reason I can't stand this special and fast forwarded through most of the Adrienette moments like Kagami literally kissed Adrien goodbye!?!?
Tbh the adrienette moments in this special are boring, repetitive and a waste of time it would've been better if they focused more on important things like the new heroes and the eagle miraculous
WHAT? THE MOMENTS ARE ONLY ROMANTIC BECAUSE MARINETTE LIKES ADRIEN. LUKA KNOWS THIS. ADRIEN IS BLIND OF HIS LOVE AND THINKS SHE'S JUST A FRIEND............THATS NOT CHEATING
as a european ive gotta say france has a diverse enough population, especially in paris, for it not to be an excuse. if they were in poland id get it, but france?
Have you even checked the list of characters nationalities, ethnicities, sexualities and figures?! Marinette herself has french, Chinese and Italian genes, adrien is half french half English, alya, nino, max are all people with darker skin tones and come from former french colonies, alix and her brother are said to be Middle Eastern, Kim is said to be Vietnamese, kagami is japanese, laila is Italian, Ivan is said to be Russian and is plus size, manon and alec both have darker skin, mark is gay, nathaniel is bi, rose and juleka are lesbians, milene is short but plus size, etc,... If that’s not diversity then Idk what is!🤨
The ONLY PROBLEM with New York and Shanghai specials is that they are NEVER MENTIONED in the 4th season or those "cute" more "into each other" scenes like dancing in the air and everything are GONE. Like let's be honest - in those specials Marinette and Adrien have more "fewer friends more lovers" relations, but watching season 4 I feel like we are back in season 3, and those moments of "friend like you" are gone and we are back with only literally regular friend. The only mention was in season 1 actually, bc the "Captain Marvel" was on the cover of a magazine when Marinette and Alya met. But like in season 4 we have NOTHING of those characters from NYC or Shanghai, no info about them, about their miraculous, or literally about the events the main characters had in those cities.
Same!!! I don’t like the show doesn’t make the connections to the specials. I though Shanghai was after S3 but nope. In Simpleman when Mari’s grandma said she met a girl that reminded her of Mari. So I thought it was a clue to meeting Fei in the special after S4. So I thought it was a close reference
Recently a Season 4 episode - Empherial, I think - showed Ladybug and Char Noirt use their Astro-modes for their first time. (I believe so anyway!) So.. it’s possible that the New York and Shanghai specials take place *during* or *after* Season 4.
@@Aria_Dragonneel The thing is in Season 4 Ep 1, Alya gets to know that Marinette is Ladybug. But in the New York special she hides her mobile screen from Alya while watching the news abt them saving everyone + there is no sign that Alya knows or she would do something. So I'm pretty sure this takes place before Season 4, unless its just bad writing... Also I'm very late cuz I just watched this special while waiting for Season 5 finale lol
Fun fact: The American superheroes actually first appeared in the short lived and much less known Miraculous comics. So for people like me who did know about them, this was great seeing them animated.
"You were perfect as usual" No, she wasn't. She was focused more on being mad at Chat, and wasn't focusing on the villain at hand. In turn, she distracted Chat, which allowed the villain to take advantage of the situation and he used Chat to destroy Uncanny Valley. It was just as much her fault as it was his
Lol it's almost as if she is a child with so much pressure on her shoulders and just for once wanted to take a little break. I'm an overall understanding person but I'd be a little miffed at Chat Noir for breaking my trust even though he also has alot of responsibilities on his shoulders as well and also needs a break every once and a while(and also has at home problems but only he knows about them since secret identities and all that)
10:50 FYI according to Thomas Astruc the creator of the show; this movie was originally created to be 2 hours long instead of one hour like it did; they actually had a full script ready for it. But for various reasons like the budget that was too small, the time limit to release the movie approaching, etc... they had to make it smaller and that's why it feels like it was wrapped up in the end with many loose ends. And to do so they had to cut short on the sub and secondary character story: "Cat Noir, Mrs. Mandeleiev, Chloe, Sabrina,..." and focused on the essential.
The teacher thing really confuses me, in s4 she is not pregnant at all like not even a slight bump... Did she had it? Did she miscarriage? It is never mention again.. Also BIG plothole introduced: why Marcov doesn't recognize Adrian and Marinette as LB and CN but Uncanny valley does? I think Thomas tried to say bcos she is more advanced but it doesn't matter, all technology doesn't pick up miraculous magic! So any A.I. should see through it
"Just like an anime protagonist" This actually has an anime, they reference that is season 5 I think? They have cardboard cutouts of the anime versions. Anyways, the NY special was better than I was expecting. It was pretty decent all-in-all.
Miraculous was originally going to be an anime so they launched a trailer and everything (I think it's on UA-cam) but then Thomas was having trouble with ladybug's spots so he decided to make it 3D
I know a lot of people hated the New York special, but I really enjoyed it. It was fun and entertaining to watch (especially Adrienette and Ladynoir). I also liked the new characters, they were nice touches! *Edit* When I said it was fun and entertaining to watch, I never mentioned the story line. I was talking about the scenery, the characters, and pretty much the plot as a whole. I didn’t really care about character growth in this episode. The main reason I liked watching it with my mom was because you didn’t have to watch every single episode in order to understand what was happening. Plus, it’s a special, not an episode so I feel like it was supposed to be different.
@@dontcare3935 Yup and they always come up with the stupidest excuses for their terrible execution and that’s not even mentioning the fact that the creators (specially Thomas) like to troll the fandom...😑

I still find hilarious how the New York streets in that dramatic under the rain scene are completely EMPTY like... There's no way New York streets late at night are empty. Also the robot girl still looks like a Monster High rip-off to me. But hey,I'm happy you could've enjoyed this wonderful mess of a special lol
Well I do remember that the president and the superheroes put out a national warning to New Yorkers to stay off the streets since Techno Pirate was on the lose. I liked Uncanny Valley because as a black person, it was nice to see a black girl superhero. However her design definitely felt like an Alita Battle Angel/Elle Eedee ripoff.
Okay to me the New York special has a lot of plot holes like how how does the superheroes have the powers?... I mean it mostly left me pretty confused I was eager to know so much more about this heroes. But it was good.
@@kingnickg4268 add to the fact they are part of a larger ZAG universe, so unless you watch the other shows that are part of the universe I don't think you're going to get this
I mean how do you think museums got my people's things in the first place? Ask our tribes nicely? nah, they stole them from us. It's good that she got to keep it, as it should be! There are places that have stolen families totem poles right off their front lawns only for them to be found later by living people who were there when it was stolen and are yelled at not to touch it. Like, this isn't even ancient history, we're talking fifty years ago still happening and likely even still to this day. Many museums are however starting to give things back, but it's a long process. We must, even still, not forget how museums got our things to begin with.
@@senaruryuin2773 from the story of the eagle miraculous in the special, I remember that the miraculous was used by a French soldier fighting for the white Americans to help defeat the British forces, so I’d reckon that it’d be given to the museum, or returned to France. I feel like if they were going for it being an original Native American artefact then have it be given to a Native American chief during a conflict like the Seminole Wars or so.
they've already set the power ups up in previous episodes lol like ladybug and chat noir can eat those cool little macaroons and cheeses, which are different colours, and they get cool powers and stuff (idk if you were joking or not and I don't know whether you covered this in your previous vid so uh I have bad memory so sorry if you already knew this) the new york special is great to me, especially the first part before the angst
To all the people saying that Marinette and Adrien are cheating on Luka and Kagami. That is COMPLETELY false. The timeline of the NY Special holds in a place somewhere between season 4. KEYWORD: between. At the beginning of S4, Marinette broke up with Luka, same for Adrien with Kagami....so...
Personally, I wish Marionette's voice stayed deep in season 4, and I feel like things could've really progressed from this movie, like it did in the first few episodes afterwards, before spiralling back down as if Adrian was never making moves on Marionette in New York (which he did like every minute). But if you think Marionette was overreacting about Adrien in this movie, it is so much worse in the Shanghai special lol.
I only have one problem with it, that the robot girl can't see Plagg at all I would have it be that plagg is a glitch/studder in her vision to show that she is alive even if it is an artificial life form
@@kaitomastuda6262 finally someone who agrees. That scene where Marinette was falling and Adrien catches her, everyone was saying they are meant for each other. Like my God, don't shove this ship idea down my throat, I get it.
I respect the fact you managed to enjoy this movie. It was just PAINFUL for me to watch, because it was clear the writers had no intention of progressing anything and just wanted to make irrelevant characters appear to be relevant by forcing them in a popular show. I mean, Kagami and Luca are left behind so they can't interfere with Adrinete moments, Chloe is immediately back to her season 1 shenanigans and personality without suffering any consequence for betraying Ladybug at the end of season 3, and a new Celestial Guardian shows up at the end of the movie only to never be relevant in the series after that! I'm glad you managed to find joy in watching this special, because all I felt was that I wasted my time.

Majestia(?) and the Dark Owl were actually mentioned in previous seasons! In the origins ep, Alya mentions Majestia and that episode with the principle getting akumatized, he’s cosplaying the Dark Owl. Both are only comic book characters until this special though
am i the only one who is bothered by the fact that they brought in another set of miraculous just like bam this is a thing now? idk it was just really sudden and kinda confusing, especially because master fu said that when the guardians of the miraculous collapsed, all the miracle boxes other than the one he had (the one we know) were lost
The Hot Dog character reminds me of DC's Condiment King. What if the US had a superhero who worked at sandwich chain, and when arriving on the scene, she could say a cheesy (Get it?) catchphrase like "Did someone order a hero?".
I just hate it because it's supposed to take place after season 3 and after Adrien is in a relationship with kagami and marinette with Luka... So that means that their friends Didn't have a problem with them cheating...
One of the fundamental problems I have with this special is the inclusion of other heroes in this world. It took a while for the show to establish that other kinds of super powers other than the Miraculous exists. Like...it technically isn't a bad thing, it just wasn't obviously established and brings up questions: how did these people get powers? Why don't we hear about them more often in the news? Why doesn't Paris have natural super heroes (i.e. heroes who have powers and don't use miraculous)? Is this world like My Hero Academia where some percentage of the world is born with super powers? Why does the U.S. need super heroes? Do they have that many villains? Why doesn't Paris have villains other than Hawk Moth? Are we to assume that Paris is a utopia without Hawk Moth? If Paris does have heroes that don't use miraculous, then why havent they been helping? Even if for some reason they can't help the akumatized people, can't we establish that? They can at least help with damage control. So yes, many questions. Also, this special continues the stupid and lazy trend of characters saying how Mari and Adrien are "made for each other." The show does this more than once, and, in this special, coming from someone who doesn't even know them is annoying. We already know these two will end up together, show, you don't need to keep telling us D'X Also also, when Uncanny Valley relays Ladybug's message to Adrien, wasn't Mari in her civilian form? How did Adrien not recognize Mari's voice? I can buy magic shenanigans making them look different and even making them sound different when transformed, but they should recognize their civilian voices. **sigh** So yeah, I take some issues with this special...and MLB in general. However, Negative, I do appreciate you taking the time out to review this and your hard work in making this video. And I'm glad you enjoyed this special. Thanks for everything that you do! ^_^
It’s fine if you like it because there are some reasons to like it but there’s a lot of reasons many(like me) who don’t like it That’s why the reviews are split
That’s like saying you did something bad because a kid told you it was a good idea. Adrian is old enough to use his better judgment, and it’s a good thing he took responsibility. He knows how the kawmi’s especially Plagg can be when it comes to decision making.
10:04 I think the reason he can't tell her emotions is bc his whole life barley had emotions, like Natalie, his bodyguard, even Gabriel, are almost like robots! he hasn't experienced much love & emotion, other that when Emilie was around still
After the first watching, I didn't have many problems with it but over time I just realized how many flaws their are in this special. Like how focused Alya was (and has been) to get Marinette together with Adrien even though she showed that she wanted to move on. In the rain scene, Marinette was obviously exhausted and sad but Alya insisted that she should have been the one to reach out to Adrien when Nino or any of his other classmates could have done that. That lead to Marinette feeling even more emotionally drained and crying out in the rain after chasing his car. Alya and Ninos whole role in the movie was centered around Adrienette even though they could have focused on each others relationship, help Marinette move on, etc. Anything other than encouraging them to cheat on their girlfriend/boyfriend. I won't even open the can of worms that is the controversy about Uncanny Valley's design.
This special honestly met (the very low) standard I have for miraculous, so I was pretty happy with it. If there was one thing to critique though, I really dislike how the whole marinette friendzoning adrien thing never went anywhere in season 4. The writers for this show are TERRIBLE at establishing continuity.
I feel like ...in a alternate universe where. 1. Season 3 never happened 2. Kagami sadly never existed This would've been a great launching point to reverse their crush dynamic. Adrian could be sorting his feelings about the kiss/ Marinette starting a relationship with Luka and realizing his feelings for Marinette. Ladybug could, after loosing Chat Noir, realize how much she cares for chat noir and start having somefeelings for him. Cementing at least SOME PROGRESSION with the love square. But sadly that's not what happened...
3:52 "The Hotdog Hero" "...and Baron Burger" Well, it's not too far off. DC Comics does actually have a character named the Condiments King (though I think he might be a villain) hahaha! ^_^
I hate this special specifically because Kagami and Adrien are dating and then HIS FRIENDS are STILL trying to get him and Marinette together. Like why is the show saying it's okay to try to get your friend to cheat because your other friend is his OTP.
@@ItzZay1 Lukanette may be broken up in the NY special because it never gets fully addressed except for like one scene, but Kagami consoles Adrien saying something like "at least well spend time together" and kisses him in the only scene she appears, so...
@@villedart970 she says we’ll have more time to practice then she kisses his nose or whatever, but then I remember that Kagami kissed Adrien before they were dating
Tbh, miraculous is my favourite guilty pleasure but I can't ignore the plot holes like how the robot record ladybugs voice and somehow the magic stills makes her voice unrecognisable despite technology could not record or capture the magic (like the kwami etc). And how marinette blew off too hard on chat noir and others. Also, the there's too many plots going on yet didn't execute well like Sabrina's crush on the guy but the the subject didn't appear after that moment.
Honestly as much as i lovedd Shanghai(i watched it live on tf1 on tv was so exciting) , the New york one has a special place bcoz of the small character development!
When Alya says America is the land of the free, it surprised me for a second, because that's like she's saying "The country that I am from is not free."
I can understand how having a native superhero is cool, but I myself is native. And I personally find her design very offensive to my culture, the way how she looks normally is very offensive and feels very stereotyped, and the design of her superhero uniform is very basic and I don't enjoy it. The eagle represents love which is fact I don't think they were going for but it's something I do like. But other than that I find this very offensive.
I agree. I'm not native, but it made me uncomfortable to see Jess in all red white and blue colors. They even butchered her shirt from the Oglala flag to blue triangles for no good reason. I do like her personality at least.
Now you need to immediately forget everything from this because it has no weight nor bearing on the show at a because Astruc doesn't care about plot or characterization.
This special is what really got me into Miraculous Ladybug even after 3 years of watching the show. I'm excited to see your review of the Shanghai Special!
Wait if there's boxes worth of miraculous in multiple countries, why is the entire show focused on one city in one country? Why did Master Fu go to Paris with them where Gabriel, who would go on to threaten to hurt people to get the Miraculous via his akuma, happened to live? It would clearly be easier for him to just hunt down an unprotected miraculous from another country right? There's other Guardians but they apparently don't do their job well or the Eagle one wouldn't have been in a museum the whole time and Fu wouldn't have been in such deep trouble with the loss of his temple, right?
I really loved the New York special! It absolutely made my day when the American miraculous-es were native American related. It makes so much sense to me that they would be! Are you going to do a video on the other special?
If I shut my brain off and don't think about it too much, I like this special. It's got interesting ideas and moments in it, it's self contained, and it has decent-ish payoff moments. As a collection of this special and the TV series, I hate it. It breaks the magic system and world building. If there's already competent superheros in NYC, why didn't Master Fu just go there and hide? When hawkmoth attacked Paris initially, why didn't the USA hero's go help? Captain Marvel can clearly fly into outer space, surely she can get to Paris. And having other magical heros in the world minimizes the importance of the miraculous. If each region of the world has it's own box and guardians, where's the European box? Master Fu is clearly from Asia, so he has the Chinese zodiac/Asian miraculous. And why would he have extras like ladybugs, black cats, peacocks, butterflies, foxes, etc? And also WHERE IS THE EUROPEAN MIRACULOUS BOX? I also love the Native American and Android girls. Love them. But it rubs me the wrong way that the first cannon death we had was of the very few black characters. And it's irritating AF that Jesse is a Native American dressed entirely in red, white, and blue and in patterns that resemble Captain America. Even though her shirt is allegedly based off the Oglala flag that she is descended from, they changed the design from the 9 tipi to blue triangles. Her beadwork earrings look great, and her hair leather wrap hair is nice, but the massive red white and blue theme feels really.... wrong. Considering how the Native Americans were/are treated by the USA? It just struck me as sleezy to dress her up in those specific, iconic colors. I wanted more of the chat noir and ladybug dynamic. More about their cooperation and internal disagreements. And having the world have a TON of new superheros just made it feel like fanfiction to me.
i both hate and love this show. the foundation of this show is great, like the love square? the lore? the drama? all of it is actually really interesting. but the thing is, it's executed horribly. there's no development, the characters are lowkey creepy and set bad examples for the kids watching the show, and consistency is sacrificed for the sake of shock factor/angst (*cough* chameleon and miracle queen *cough*). although the concept had so much potential, the producers and writers failed to capitalise on the strong points of the story and are instead dragging the plot out and making it unnecessarily convoluted. it's frankly disappointing to watch the show at this point because all i can think about is what it could've been. and so, i just read the fanfiction. no, seriously. the fanfiction is so much better because it takes everything that makes the show interesting, and it builds upon it with more likeable characters and plots that actually make sense. my advice is to go on the miraculous ladybug fandom on ao3 and just binge read anything that catches your eye. thank me later.
It’s also important to know that there’s been a voice change as of that special. Nino and Max’s then-voice actor Ben Diskin officially steps down from these two roles in favour of Zeno Robinson (now famous as Goh from Pokémon Journeys & Hawks from MHA). It’s very likely that change was impacted by the BLM movement in the US at the time.
When the eagle's power was used for evil like how the butterfly is meant to make heroes not villains so the eagle in a good way is basically like if you had anxiety and it disappeared that's the eagle's power.

I like that they finally out right say that the miraculous magically hide their identity which is why no one can recognize them even thought their costumes don't actually hide their faces all too well

Just to clarify, the Eagle Miraculous allows the wearer to free someone from whatever restrains them in reaching their full potential. With that being said, the wearer is the one who chooses what is freed from the person. For example, someone who has a fear of speaking in front of a crowd can be released from their fears if Liberation is in effect. It doesn’t necessarily mean that to reach full potential is to be evil and immoral The reason we don’t see the miraculous in a good light is because we only saw how it can be used for evil. This miraculous can be both helpful and useful. Besides, the miraculous have finite rules only the wearer set on themselves.
The only problem I got about the special is that the special focuses less on the American heroes and more on the french duo. If they really wanted to make an MCU, they oughta make the heroes they're making specials for the main characters.
kinda fun that the miraculous box in Paris is the Chinese miraculous box, so potentially there could be a European miraculous box somewhere, which could be fun! (wester dragon and unicorn as the two main miraculous and then miraculous of the different awesome animals in Europe that have also mythological and fairytale bases, like wolfs, frogs, swans, storks, bears, deers, boars, newts... would also love to see a fish miraculous, like a pike or carp, maybe also eel (allowing the wearer to understand animals)!

The cast is already diverse?

(I believe so anyway!)
So.. it’s possible that the New York and Shanghai specials take place *during* or *after* Season 4.
@@Aria_Dragonneel Chat Noir actually used his space power up in the very previous episode.

"I'm not mad just disappointed," is what I feel with some of the writing in this show.

I mean, Kagami and Luca are left behind so they can't interfere with Adrinete moments, Chloe is immediately back to her season 1 shenanigans and personality without suffering any consequence for betraying Ladybug at the end of season 3, and a new Celestial Guardian shows up at the end of the movie only to never be relevant in the series after that!

am i the only one who is bothered by the fact that they brought in another set of miraculous just like bam this is a thing now? idk it was just really sudden and kinda confusing, especially because master fu said that when the guardians of the miraculous collapsed, all the miracle boxes other than the one he had (the one we know) were lost
Yeah but in the end of that episode the temple and everything inside returned that includes the guardians and the other boxes
The Hot Dog character reminds me of DC's Condiment King.

4:16 fun fact: Hamburgers are named hamburgers because they were created in Hamburg Germany in 1885 🙂
There is talk of a spin off of miraculous but we don’t know what the spin off of the show will be about yet.
We already know these two will end up together, show, you don't need to keep telling us D'X
Also also, when Uncanny Valley relays Ladybug's message to Adrien, wasn't Mari in her civilian form? How did Adrien not recognize Mari's voice? I can buy magic shenanigans making them look different and even making them sound different when transformed, but they should recognize their civilian voices.
**sigh**
So yeah, I take some issues with this special...and MLB in general.
However, Negative, I do appreciate you taking the time out to review this and your hard work in making this video. And I'm glad you enjoyed this special. Thanks for everything that you do! ^_^

I also liked The New York special. (Please dont attack me.)
It’s fine if you like it because there are some reasons to like it but there’s a lot of reasons many(like me) who don’t like it
That’s why the reviews are split
Plagg really should have confessed that it was his idea not to tell Ladybug
Agreed. And then tell Ladybug off for saying she couldn't trust Cat Noir anymore!
That’s like saying you did something bad because a kid told you it was a good idea. Adrian is old enough to use his better judgment, and it’s a good thing he took responsibility. He knows how the kawmi’s especially Plagg can be when it comes to decision making.
10:04 I think the reason he can't tell her emotions is bc his whole life barley had emotions, like Natalie, his bodyguard, even Gabriel, are almost like robots! he hasn't experienced much love & emotion, other that when Emilie was around still
Can't wait til they review the Shanghai special. I think this one was fine tho.
I think what it is is that the American heroes appeared in a Miraculous comic, but this was their debut outside of that.
7:50 Power was used for evil, Lafayette used it for other men to fight for freedom, in this case for good
9:47 I can most definitely see u acting in a movie or voiceovering some character in a movie😭😭😂 but right do it zag😂😂
6:02 you forgot that hawkmoth knows who kagami and lucka is and what miraculous they might hold so it's not possible.
This special honestly met (the very low) standard I have for miraculous, so I was pretty happy with it. If there was one thing to critique though, I really dislike how the whole marinette friendzoning adrien thing never went anywhere in season 4. The writers for this show are TERRIBLE at establishing continuity.
0:31 I wonder how many people were expecting them to form a crossover team à la Avengers.
i expected the New York special video much later but yay : D
I feel like ...in a alternate universe where.
1. Season 3 never happened
2. Kagami sadly never existed
This would've been a great launching point to reverse their crush dynamic.

1:50 the writers will never let her move on the drama is needed for them 😂😂😂
3:52 "The Hotdog Hero" "...and Baron Burger"
Well, it's not too far off. DC Comics does actually have a character named the Condiments King (though I think he might be a villain) hahaha! ^_^
I hate this special specifically because Kagami and Adrien are dating and then HIS FRIENDS are STILL trying to get him and Marinette together. Like why is the show saying it's okay to try to get your friend to cheat because your other friend is his OTP.
not TRUE. this special holds place DURING season 4! AT THE BEGINNING OF S4, MARINETTE BROKE UP WITH LUKA AND KAGAMI BROKE UP WITH ADRIENNN

YES OMG I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
And having the world have a TON of new superheros just made it feel like fanfiction to me.
i both hate and love this show. the foundation of this show is great, like the love square? the lore? the drama? all of it is actually really interesting. but the thing is, it's executed horribly. there's no development, the characters are lowkey creepy and set bad examples for the kids watching the show, and consistency is sacrificed for the sake of shock factor/angst (*cough* chameleon and miracle queen *cough*). although the concept had so much potential, the producers and writers failed to capitalise on the strong points of the story and are instead dragging the plot out and making it unnecessarily convoluted. it's frankly disappointing to watch the show at this point because all i can think about is what it could've been. and so, i just read the fanfiction. no, seriously. the fanfiction is so much better because it takes everything that makes the show interesting, and it builds upon it with more likeable characters and plots that actually make sense. my advice is to go on the miraculous ladybug fandom on ao3 and just binge read anything that catches your eye. thank me later.
at this point, i'm really just waiting for the spinoffs
It’s also important to know that there’s been a voice change as of that special. Nino and Max’s then-voice actor Ben Diskin officially steps down from these two roles in favour of Zeno Robinson (now famous as Goh from Pokémon Journeys & Hawks from MHA). It’s very likely that change was impacted by the BLM movement in the US at the time.
When the eagle's power was used for evil like how the butterfly is meant to make heroes not villains so the eagle in a good way is basically like if you had anxiety and it disappeared that's the eagle's power.

Ah yes.

The only problem I got about the special is that the special focuses less on the American heroes and more on the french duo. If they really wanted to make an MCU, they oughta make the heroes they're making specials for the main characters.
8:07 I'm very annoyed how they treated her. She can't see the kwamii's so she'll never be a real person
kinda fun that the miraculous box in Paris is the Chinese miraculous box, so potentially there could be a European miraculous box somewhere, which could be fun!
