Thanks, for the information. People need to raise their own kids & not worry about yours' or when you wash your vehicle. If they can't say or type nothing nice they shouldn't type at all. Thank you, your time & energy really helped me & saved me a bunch of money.
Dude straight up ur son reminds me of my son haha when I’m working on my car. He’s halarious man. Thanks for the video very detailed. I didn’t wanna buy a whole new assembly because I knew the old springs were still good and the old hardware was still good
I have only ever seen the strut mounts that use the encased bearings as seen in the video, so unfortunately, I don't know if the others are compatible.
Very useful video. Thanks. I was fooled by the fact that the 3 studs at the top of the strut where it bolts to the car are not equally spaced (ie not symetirical). So, the strut only fits one way - may have to rotate the top plate to get it to fit right.
You need to make sure you mark the enccentric bolts so the alignment is not is not moved, but is best if you get it aligned in a shop after a strut replacement.
I just tighten it as tight as I can. My torque wrench is a socket-style which won't work on a top strut nut since the shaft requires an Allen wrench to keep it from rotating.
I just recntly replaced the struts / springs on my 2002 honda civic, with one of those fully assembled struts for each side.. Im having super problems with alignment afterwards; two front wheels are toed out and the back wheels are now cambered.. Brought it to get an alignment and they werent able to actually perform a 4 wheel alignment.. Do you think i had installed the wrong parts?? As in they sent me the wrong parts?? Is there a standard size strut for that vehicle? It looked like the strut i took out was different then the ones installed.. Anyway if you have any inkling any help would be appreciated
Great video as I'm about to do this on a 2004 didnt see him bolt the brake hose back onto the bracket? Does look connected before the final zoom out though. Second the comment about children and safety - not good having your preteen kid wandering about the garage area when you're working on potentially dangerous items.
Tobey 240sx I’m about to do this and that would definitely help. It was a pain and a half to break it loose when I did my old Camaro. Thanks for the tip!
Safety first next time dont have any kids around any metal might come loose and hit someone in the head next time show how you use the compressing tool.

Very informative and detailed thanks! Your little helper is the greatest!

I like your makeshift impact wrench.
Why didn't you remove the sticker?
wow you are a top mechanic thanks for the vid.
Why didn’t you show how you use the spring tighteners?
No mention of the bolt sizes?
Are the other kind of strut mounts, the ones without the casing for the bearings that you described at 6:40, also compatible with this strut assembly?

Buenas noches cuando haces un video de cambio de amortiguadores del Honda City...por favor.

Here's my $2.00000... never ever have kids around you waiting for accidentally to happen...😢🎉😅😅😅😅😅
Real safe with the kid running around the compressed spring looking for candy...
What do you tighten the strut top nut down to (torque Specs..)???
I just tighten it as tight as I can. My torque wrench is a socket-style which won't work on a top strut nut since the shaft requires an Allen wrench to keep it from rotating.
@@Thadivs THANKS!!!!!! Jay
Do you have to use the spring tightener thing or can you buy the strut with a new one?
If I am not mistaken the arrows have to face front !

Those strut assembly sets are junk. Youre way better off keeping the original spring, buy just the strut itself and do what this guy did.

Thank you for showing me that removal tool. I’m going to have to go get one. What is it called, please and thank you.
It's a tie rod separator. I usually call it a ball joint separator.
Thadivs thank you, I got the tool
did you end up needing an alignment after this?
Any time I replace any suspension or steering parts, I give the car an alignment. I use the string method.
Thanks I actually tried it today and I almost got it right the car pulls just a bit but will be fine for now until I wait on my new tie rods
Thanks for sharing you video.
Breaking torque with a socket wrench *army aircraft mechanic ptsd intensifies*
Good job but I would power washed, sanded all that, primed and painted it, all that dirt and rust just kills cars.
you dont need the tool you smack the strut housing with a big hammer and the tie rod pops out ! LOL
loosen the center bolt with the car on the ground . it's a lot easier.
Tobey 240sx I’m about to do this and that would definitely help. It was a pain and a half to break it loose when I did my old Camaro. Thanks for the tip!
So the center bolt where he had the strut on the ground, the one where he used the baseball swing?
thanks
Working with that spring compressor close to ur son. Yikes!
Gotta remove the sticker... Son is great..

Yep thats rigth dady.. :)
next time do videos without that annoying kid on the background
Just in case, please keep the children away from the work area, thank you.
