- The making of this colorful costume of Jaskier, the sidekick bard of Geralt De Rivia from the Witcher 3 video game. It has inspiration from historical elements of the renaissance, but with a heroic fantasy twist.
Hello fashion and crafting enthusiasts!
I'm your friendly french seamstress and in this video, I'll be taking you through the making of my colorful Jaskier costume, the sidekick bard of Geralt De Rivia from the Witcher 3 video game. It's a fusion of historical Renaissance elements and heroic fantasy, perfect for cosplay fun!
I won't lie, it wasn't all smooth sailing. Velvet proved to be a real challenge during the 4 weeks it took me to complete this costume. But hey, I persevered and I'm thrilled with the end result!
Now, I may not be the best musician in the world, but I hope my rendition of "Toss a Coin to Your Witcher" will make you smile. #cosplaywin
If you want to see more of my sewing process and previous costumes, head over to my Instagram page. And if you enjoy what you see, give me a follow! #sewinglove
Thanks for tuning in! Let me know what you think in the comments below. I can't wait to share more of my costume and cosplay creations with you.
Also known as Dandelion in the Witcher game. Cosplaying this character is a lot of fun and I hope you will forgive my sad attempt at music. Toss a coin to your witcher !
The process of making this costume took about 4 weeks, with a lot of sewing challenges due to velvet being the worst fabric. I really enjoyed sewing this cosplay, and hopefully I will have an occasion to wear it outside.
If you enjoy my work in sewing costumes and cosplay, check out my Instagram page for a lot more photos, work in progress photos of the current costume, and previous costumes as well.
❤️Thanks for watching. I love making costumes and cosplays and hope to share a lot more sewing process, tell me what you think !

You’re rocking the look! Still, calling anything Jaskier wears “a bit tacky” is the pinnacle of euphemisms… he’s a lovable waking disaster 😂
YOU👏 ARE 👏ABSOLUTELY 👏 AMAZING 👏 How comes this has only 316 views?! And I love the French pronunciation of Jaskier, I honestly think he'd prefer it to be pronounced this way 😁
Oh thank you for your compliment ! I am glad people are not annoyed by my accent !
@@HazarielAtelier your English is still easy to understand and your accent sounds cute! Don't worry about it! ☺️
She's new to the UA-cam so she's got some time to catch up.
Jaskier is actually the Polish term for Buttercup which is adorable. I am going to try to find the Polish pronunciation.
@@givemeprimelaughterit's Yaskyer with stress on the YAS 😁 all Js in Polish are Ys 😊
I love how you find smart & creative solutions for the details in the costume. 🤯🥰 I'm learning so much from your videos and your costumes are stunning. Really excited to see what you do next. 🙌 (also as a person trying to learn french, love the words that you mix from time to time 🤭 it's helping me to expand my vocabulary!) Merci et à bientôt!
Thanks, I am so glad that I can actually help someone learn stuff ! Keep on listening to people speaking french (the grammar is a nightmare :) )
Amazing work!
These are beautiful custom designer details and works that anyone would love to have in a wearable daily garment or handbag and cherish as a part of their collection. I'd love to have some of the silk that you designed, it is stunning. I love your costumes, they are so beautiful, they are works of art.
This turned out SO AMAZING!!!! I love all the details ♡♡♡♡
Thanks so much !
This turned out so awesome!
Thank you
Oh my god the dedication and the level of details this got is breathtaking. Amazing video, creativity AND hard work holyy. I was already impressed with all the parts you sewn together and the craftsmanship ,but my breath was taken away when i saw you do the resin buttons. like WHAA
15:05 Ariel, your command of the English language is truly amazing, but at this moment, you made my day.
The way you said "brooch" actually means fart in Greek. 🤣
Wow it came out really well! That was cool how you painted the fabric on the screen and making the jewelry 😀. The colours are delightful and I hope you do get to wear it ! Tfs💖
Thanks so much 😊
Your Jaskier and my Geraldine of Rivia HAVE TO MEET ASAP!!! :D
Yeah! I'll get you some coins tossed
This is incredible! I love it.
Thank you !
this is so STUNNING!
MIND BLOWN, so beautiful and fun and you didn't cut corners! You can have my coin jar!
Deal!
So much smartness in the making of this costume !! Especially the silk painting frame and the molding of the buttons ! I love it, and the colorful result does spark joy ✨
Glad you like it! Thank you so much
This is absolutely magnificent! You are amazing Ariel!
This is so pretty! Brilliant work!
Guess I have to toss a coin to the seamstress! 😅
So much work for such a short video. You are positively crazy. Having made a lot of costumes from that historical era I know how much time and effort you put into this cosplay but it was totally worth it. This cosplay is really really amazing and by far the best Jaskier-interpretation I have ever seen.
Tacky is the new black!
Oh and I liked the way you put the pattern onto the fabric and your detailled explanation of the sleeve construction best.
Your attention to the details is amazing! 🌻 Incredible costume
That wee Parks and Rec reference had me cackling!🤣
Hazariel, Many compliments to your authentic touches in your projects!. Great for parties, parade costumes, cosplay costumes, and for display in your own showplace museum. And your work could even go far as fashion trunks for fashion designers. Your details are on point ✅💖🌸🌟👍💫👏👏You artfully needled it!🎉
J'ai vu tes autres vidéos mais ce costume là est VACHEMENT impressionant
It’s gorgeous! I would wear the jacket as my regular jacket. Beautiful work!
I hope I have the skills to make something like this one day. Those shorts live in my head rent free.
Recently found your channel and I'm catching up on old videos. This outfit is amazing and I love it!
Turned out beautiful!!
DAAAAAANNNGGG GUUURRLLL!!! This is A-MAY-ZING-GAH!!!! Your talent is IN-CREH-DUH-BLE!!! I’m green w/envy!!!
SO MUCH WORK & DETAILS THAT GO INTO IT👌THIS IS A MASTERPIECE, SUCH A PIECE OF ART👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The funny part is that with your hair you look like Dandelion from the books! Absolutely stunning work!
You honestly deserve to have some coins tossed at you! This is amazing. And yes, I like the French pronunciation of the bard's name A LOT more than the English one 😁!
Thank you ! The french accent makes names sound fancy and a bit ridiculous, perfect for Jaskier :)
@@HazarielAtelier - Absolutely true ! I think Jaskier is so Toussaint (although he is much likelier from Oxenfurt). And Toussaint is France in our home dimension 😁 !
@@saymyname2417 Blood and wine could have been a game in itself, I loved it so much !
@@HazarielAtelier - Absolutely! This quest was so awesome and grand that it was an entire thing of its own.
And if the tv series wasn't so messed up it could have been great as a little series of five or so episodes. Which is what could be done with many quests!
Absolutely stunning
Absolutely ridiculous. Garish. Tacky.
I love it.
Oh my god, you are crazy talented!
wow this was so much work! well done
I love the jacket!!
Oh. My. Gosh! Great work, every little detail!
Wow c'est génial ! La patience qu'il faut pour ça... Bravo ! Et du coup, je vais m'abonner pour suivre tes superbes créations ! :D
I think this is the most amazing thing I've seen in a long time 😍
I am *in awe*
Second time back to see this. I love the necklace! Excellent stuff!
Magnifiiiiique ! Et tellement de courage et de patience. En tout cas je savoure chacune de tes vidéos depuis que j'ai découvert ta chaîne ! And I love the French accent ;)
Incredible, i have never thought to replicate buttons!
There are so many different techniques used in this costume, amazing!
Fantastic job!
You're so impressively skilled!
Nice work, fancy lad.
This is so incredibleeee!
This video is equal parts amazing because of how well you've made this and depressing because I'd never be able to make this!!
Wow thank you ! You can still try it ! (Don't go with velvet because it's horrible ) I got better through time and errors and still make a lot of mistakes but it some much fun :)
@@HazarielAtelier Your stuff is so underrated, I can’t wait to see more (:
@@maxblack2347 I will do more ! Thx !
I love this so much

Holy wow!
That bodice painting is just gorgeous!
Brilliant!
This is the most incredible thing i saw in a while, thank you to create such spectacular costumes!!!
You need to come to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. We’ve been costuming since the 1700’s. That’s the kind of thing we wear.
I have recently discovered your channel and I am in love with everything you do! You are one of my new favourite creators
You're very entertaining! I subscribed, and now I am making my way through your awesome videos! ❤
So so fabulous!! You deserve more views.
Cheers for the "good parts" of Witcher adaptation...the costunes,ouf...œuf? And to think Yennefer was my teenage crush AND style icon from book's descriptions...Love Your creativity, accent, sense of style and humour ❤️
LOVE IT ❤️💕
New to the channel. It is very calming. Thanks for your hard work. Keep going.
It’s so prettyyyyy 😍✨
Aaaah! Es realmente un trabajo impresionante 💖
your pronunciation of Jaskier's name is so funny, anyway the stitches on the fabric are cool
I can't sew (not even a button on my Shirt) but I love your videos! You make it feel effortless even when it is a thousand hours project 🥳
She's pretty much a Jane of all trades, it would seem. 😲
Probs know this by now, but for the buttons and accessories if you paint it black first and dry brush on the gold it looks more metallic and weathered
This was so much fun to watch! Great results!
that was soooo soooo sooo amazing! i'd wear it everyday turned out so amazing! incredible work!
Stunning!
This is so amazing! Beautifully done!!
Awesome costume! I’m in love with the colours too,
Wow! that looks amazing. Your costume, jewellery and button making is inspirational!
incredible work!! i love your passion!!
This is seriously impressive.
I'm so impressed by all the different techniques used for making this, it came out so wonderfully! I love all of the things you've made but other then the Sailor Scouts (because of personal bias haha) this is definitely my favorite by far. I also think the song came out as lovely as the outfit, you have a beautiful voice!
Crazy complicated costume that you executed so well without a big budget or going to any big fabric district.
*Tosses all my coin*
Very well done. Definitely saving this because I've been dying to try out a Dandilion cosplay. This is beautifully done. *Applause*
I want that costume!!!! 😁 really, it's amazing and all this work you have done, just WOW 😍
Damn, you deserve so many more subs! Your content is brilliant.
I had seen this work of yours on Instagram but it’s even more impressive on video 💕 love the Witcher and Terraria too ^^ and I know what u mean about the Wicher series costumes... I was a bit disappointed too hehe 😜
You’ve got yourself a new subscriber tho, can’t wait to see what you create next 😁
ps : I’m in love with your accent 💕
Thanks you ! I am glad you're staying, prepare for next with a lady who likes to make coats with puppies 😁
NOM DE DIEU !!!! Tu es incroyable !!!!!
Je suis sous le charme ! Quel talent !!!
We have the same favorite part of the TV series. ;) Bonjour, Henry Cavill. This turned out amazing - so much detail and fun color! The little drawing attachment on your sewing machine is neat!
incredible video, you are so talented 🤯🤯🤯
wow
wow im floored this is so well done!! would you ever sell patterns for this costume?
Ariel enterre le cosplaygame ...
Merci !
I am new to your channel and have just binge-watched quite a few videos. I wondered if you have ever tried a walking foot, a Rolling foot or a Teflon foot with velvet. One of them might work for you. They are also great with garment leather and fleece. Love your creativity. Muffy from Oz (Australia)
ça a l'air incroyable! *3*/
C'est mon cosplay de rêve mais, grand dieu, ça pas l'air simple pour deux cennes pour un gars qui sait à peine gérer sa machine à coudre...
Pour l'instant je vais rester dans l'admiration :P
superior advertising: project it directly onto consumers’ retina
Fabulous, amazing beautiful work. How long did it take, from first sketching out the pattern to the final feather on the hat? And if you sold it, how much would you sell it for?
Thanks! That took around 120 hours, so it would be roughly 5000 € in labor plus 200 € of material for a fitted garment. But I don't do commissions ☺
Fabulous, amazing work. How long did it take, from first sketching out the pattern to the final feather on the hat? And if you sold it, how much would you sell it for?
It wasn't on purpose but I did a bard hat in the exact same colors for my first DnD character xD
Ariel, je fais un gn witcher bientôt! Vieeeeeeeeeeeeeens :D Bon sinon, magnificoooooo !! Comme touyouuuuur ;)
Haha mais trop ! Enfin après la pandémie 💜
Thank you instagram gods for bringing me here. Absolutely stunning. 💞
Thanks ! I am glad you ended to my silly channel !
