@@fotuto13 Because while there are many games that have done elements of CT better than CT, it's still hard to think of jrpgs who've done all of them combined as well as CT. What makes CT such an impressive game is that - unlike the vast majority of jrpgs(that might have good combat but an underwhelming story or vice versa, good music but boring art or vice versa, or decent opening but weak second half etc - it's consistently above average along every conceivable metric. So no, there isn't many - if any - jrpgs that measure neatly up to it. Weren't you the same guy that SWORE that Atlus was planning from the very beginning to sell FES expansion as a standalone $35 DLC and separate it from P3R despite it being already finished a while ago or something? Even though it turned out that the FES Episode Aigis expansion was only greenlit and only started development after P3R was revealed last June, hence why it wasn't in the base game? Sure, you don't need to like them being greedy, but you also don't need to lie to yourself and convince yourself that the worst reasoning possible is always the correct one. You'll only believe what you want to believe, it seems. I don't know what vendetta you have against Atlus and why you keep stalking their channel if you hate their games so much, but I hate to break it to you, this game looks great and it will most likely have enough quality content in it to justify the price tag without spending a dime on whatever DLC they'll likely have.

Hell yes, this is a really great year for RPGs. Like overloaded with RPGs, it's truly amazing. Although I was hoping they'd finally have a voiced protag this time around, ah well.
No one gonna talk about the music? It's soooo good
I'm going out of my way to replay certain parts of this just to hear the music lol. I can't believe what the basic battle theme is and can't wait to hear some of the actual boss music.
Looking forward to Shoji Meguro's new works!
The music goes so hard.
I'm obsessed with the Tradia Desert theme ( i'm assuming it's that )...
I love how off the wall and distinct the music is already
This is so meta for god's sake, I'm already fantasizing about diving into the vast world of this game!!
I can already smell the intricate and tasteful social commentary miles away. And it smells absolutely delicious THE TITEL LITERALLY SAYS METAPHOR! Genius
I like that the MC has blue hair. Feel like that's a fire emblem nod
Genuinely think this could be a Crono Trigger like experience. Timeless and generational.
I dont get why everyone compares every rpg to chrono trigger. It may have been the first to do a lot of things but other games have done everything it did but better.
@@fotuto13Radiant Historia did time travel better and is an all around better Jrpg and that's just ONE example. Boomer gamers -_-
@@Cyzureoh wow a game that came out nearly 20 years after another game is better than said game in many aspects. how did you ever figure that one out.
people love older games not because they did anything better by todays standards but because they revolutionary for its time. i know there are games better than earthbound, i still love earthbound and recognize its an extremely important rpg.
@@fotuto13
Because while there are many games that have done elements of CT better than CT, it's still hard to think of jrpgs who've done all of them combined as well as CT.
(And that especially goes for Atlus rpgs, that regularly are bloated monstrosities with terrible pacing that wouldn't recognize writerly principles like Chekhov's gun even if they got shot in the face with it)
Calm down Chrono triggers aight.
Atlus is one of the most legendary game publishers I swear
Jesus they werent lying when they said they were working with a load of skilled artists. It feels like one big name after the next. Maybe it's selfish to ask but I'd like to see the work of some of the smaller artists highlighted. Like who worked on the logo? It's really good.
This has been my most anticipated game for this year since it was announced. I’m unbelievably excited to play Metaphor and experience the world you have created for us! Thank you for sharing this showcase, Altus!
#1 most anticipated game for me
You Atlus people are going to do it again. I'm hyped for this man!!❤
if there's one game that will challenge Unicorn Overlord for GOTY for me (that I'm not blindsided by) it's gonna be Metaphor. Thank you based Atlus for putting the game on xbox so I can play your glorious games on my favorite system
It's wild that Atlus can have two games competing with each other for GOTY. You know you're winning when you can say that, lol.
@@DeeAyeOh85 Also Persona 3 Reload, it may be a remake, but it's up there as one of my personal contenders for GOTY
We’ll see. Too early to mention GOTY without even playing it yet
@@DeeAyeOh85 yeah plus P3R and SMTVV. Atlus really killing it this year
I mean, good for you but Unicorn Overlord became a definition of snoozefest after you set 2 regions free. Terrible main story and characters didn't help at all as well.
Looks like an awesome experience. That UI ! Oh my God, it's soo beautiful 😍
This looks so good!👏🏻👏🏻
Alright Atlus, I think I'm sold, once again, you guys did yo thang, and I can't wait for this game's release👍🏿
Bet there's at least $30 of day 1 DLC and an expansion pass announced.
Which is why you don’t buy Atlus or Sega games day 1
Sounds great to me. Whatever helps this game be profitable im down for.
nice
Probably, but it's not like the base game won't be worth it.
As a persona fan looks pretty darn good
Atlus dropping banger after banger. Just take my money Atlus, my wallet is ready.
OMG What did I just watch!? I'm speachless, breathless, and restless-ly waiting for it. And it's comming to PCs via Steam!
peak gameplay right here lads!
That animation so damn pretty and game looks epic as hell
Makoto's alternate universe looks great. I think I'll play this in english dub
I also cant unsee Makoto v2 in the mc design 😅
“By confronting their anxiety” definitely a 2024 game 😂
Thats kinda always been atlus's style though, any persona game should be a indication
@@xman011101 yeah I know, it’s just funny. Facing your anxiety 😅
@@austintaylor5683 that's just everyday life for some of us, though, since well before this year ! don't think it's a game that was made with 2024's situation in mind ( how could they have known ? ) but you're right that it does tackle a lot of relevant feelings !
@@corruptedteka we all go through and have some form of anxiety. Some of us just cry about it a little more than others.
@@austintaylor5683 Wow. I'm not even gonna bother replying to that. Yikes.
This looks incredible OMG! Gonna grab the collector edition for sure
IM SO HYPE!
Keep telling yourself that
@@grimreaper5864 ?? What? Are you saying he's gaslighting himself into liking the trailer/preview and being hyped? 😅
This is a fantastic video, that shows a work of art that's more and more rare in 2024. You sold me a collector's edition already
I'm getting some big "HEY LISTEN" vibes from that fairy companion. Please tread carefully Atlas.
I'm already in love with the music at 7:45
How long do we have to wait for the "Complete Edition" re release
Atlus having a great year today. I'll be getting that Collector's Edition for sure.
Can't wait to play this in my Playstation 5
Agreed
@@lelongbashi lol I'll play it on my Xbox
I feel like this will be the Elden Ring of Atlus ❤
It's like Persona and Xenoblade had a love child. Amazing genetics right there.
Tying the job system to the social link system is one of the best ways I could've imagined improving upon both systems.
UI designers sure deserve all the credit they’re getting. but can we also appreciate shigenori soejimas character designs? i feel like without him, this game and persona simply wouldn’t be the same.
This game is really letting his style shine, and I love it !
The designs are a bit controversial but I really like them personally. I especially dig the designs of Hulkenberg and Gallica.
My most anticipated game of 2024. This looks like a culmination of everything Atlus has been learning over the years. The perfect mix of SMT and Persona. I cannot wait!
Absolutely oozing of Class & Style.. Look forward to the demo in June!
Ya lo quiero jugar!!!!!
Lo espero con muchas ansias
I just love how the monsters in this game are called "humans", and our world is this world's fantasy. Very interesting.
Man if Metaphor looks this fucking amazing, I can't even imagine what Persona 6 is going to look like..
Well...this is the traditional persona team. So new people are working on persona...
@ChicCanyon I had heard the team that did royal is in P6 now. I loved what they did with Royal so I think its in great hands
@@TitusKingdom If that's true, we're definitely in good hands. I remember thinking Royal wasnt gonna be worth the buy after like 300 hours into vanilla P5, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many quality of life improvements and new features/scenes/etc. Really made it feel complete when I never thought it was missing anything in the first place. Also, that card game is fun as hell
@SaintJoseph911 we really have no clue. Royal was a touch up job. They werent designing complex systems they were modifying ones already in place. They were creating a cast of characters of 100hr plots.
Metaphor looks great. It has a proven team. Persona has a brand. We'll see what that shakes into. But objectively its uncharted territory. Just like going into p3 it was a new team with new ideas.
That played out for the best, clearly. Hopefully that happens twice. The point is this looks good because this is the game the persona team we know and love made after persona 5.
isnt this game all new developers and its just the veterans as directors overseeing it? like from what i remember seeing about this game when it was Project Re Fantasy it was almost like a test for the new team
Catherine, Shin Megami Tensei, Xenoblade levels of enemy awareness, and Drops of New Age Persona. Also Middle Earth. Yup. Sold me. Definitely buying it.
