This was absolutely amazing, and I'm astonished I didn't find it sooner. Only problems I have with it are the same as everybody elses. Mr. Percival was being pretty overkill, and Duncan admitting he liked being a dick was kinda off. Other than that, great work!
Honestly, gotta say that I'm not a fan of the latter half of the story. The Thin Controller threatening to turn Duncan into a stationary boiler felt a tad overkill and Duncan saying that he likes being disrespectful feels...off in my eyes.
That's absolutely fine! You're free to your own opinion. But I definitely didn't write it so that he ever admitted or even enjoyed being disrespectful, so I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about.
@@GWShunter It's the scene at the end where Duncan hazes Sir Handel for "kissing up" to the Thin Controller. The way he says "I'd rather be temperamental than prissy" honestly sounds like he likes acting like a pain in the ass.
@@stirlingno.1296 Again, you're free to your own interpretation if that's what you get out of it. I personally think protest and "being a pain in the ass" is perfectly in Duncan's nature based on all the classic stories. I figured that Duncan after being chided by the Thin Controller would be jealous of Sir Handel and would go for an argument since they're both hot heads. And I don't think the Thin Controller's threat is much of a far cry from "cutting an engine down to size". Again, I respect your opinion! But I'm quite happy with how I wrote my story.
@@GWShunter Long story short, neither the Thin Controller or the engines took it literally. End of that. By the way, excellent Christmas beat my friend. Regards, Samuel Farris.
13:44 The most funniest part of the story 🤣 😂 😆
Nice to see Sir Handel becoming the hero for once!
Can't believe it took me almost two years to find this story - really loved to see Sir Handel used as the 'hero' of a story for a change!
the thin control was literally threatening to give duncan the same fate as smudger and stanley
This brings in season 5 vibes for me!
mixing the night train and skarloey railway theme brilliant
Oh my god! Thank you for using Rusty’s old face!
I don't know why but I really don't like rustys new face.

A very great story
I love the music used in the scenes leading up to the rescue where did you get it from.
what a great Christmas episode about Duncan derailing on Christmas eve. but there's mentioned if he and the rolling stock was damaged at all
I quite liked that story.
Very good man keep it up
Awesome story!
I assume the word Yuletide comes from the Norwegian word Juletid, which means Christmas time.

Chris doesn’t seem to do much narrating anymore these days.
