Irrelevant and deeply unfair. I am not a fan of Carol Vorderman based on her television persona though I could be entirely wrong. There are plenty of people who are intelligent who do not obtain a high degree classification for one reason or another that is nothing to do with their intelligence levels. Intelligence cannot be narrowly defined either or boiled down to passing exams in a system little changed for one hundred years. She used to live opposite my great aunt in Barnes, South west London in the early nineteen eighties, and apparently she was very pleasant to talk to.

I've been watching a ton of British panel shows in the past year and Carol Vorderman pops up in conversation from time to time often as the butt of a joke. She seems perfectly lovely to me. Smart, funny, sexy, beautiful. Is this a jealousy thing or am I missing something?

@@Aerostarm Better, no. Younger, yes. Make no mistake, I love Rachel Riley, but what's shocking is that they keep saying that "Carol asked for more money" when it was the other way round. They decided to cut her pay by a huge amount, and she - understandably - didn't think it was worth sticking around. She had a good run. They make fun of her out of spite, or jealousy, or whatever you want to call it.
She sold her soul to loan sharks
Some people seem to think that she should 'act her age', to do with being unapologetic about her lifestyle and clothing, but it's no different to the likes of Mick Jagger, so it's arguably a reflection of double standards to do with promiscuity etc and men and women.

Her twenties were pre-nose job, embarrassed by her Cambridge Math third, moping about the house, when one day her mother answered the Countdown ad in the newspaper for her and sent her for an interview. I really like her nose job, slightly upturned, slimmer with none of that Disney princess convexity that's so 'in' nowadays.
