- Well the long awaited arrival of the new wheels and tires are here. I have been dying to upgrade the wheels and tires for about a year and today we are finally going to do that. These are some of the coolest looking rims i was able to find and they were very affordable. Today we are heading over to Fred's tire and battery in shawnee oklahoma to get a quality installation done.

I got these with the 19x8.5 with 35 offset for my 18 Civic Si. Really hoping I don't have issues with fitment as I heard others running that set up on their Civics

Hey I got the same car as you and I really like your setup. Just quick question, I ask my shop nearby, they said that we need to do a tpms swap with the old tires? Is that true? Or we only need to install the wheels on it and we are good?
Hey bro! Tpms is located outside the tires in this model. If you do my setup you are good to go. All you will need to do is recalibrate. You hatch will look awesome!

Ivan Axel hey bro! That’s exciting! No need for a tpms sensor. There is an external one that measures the tire. So when you put those new ones on all you need to do is calibrate it from the inside of the car and your golden! Send me a pic on my Instagram!

Any major differences between the stock tires and the ones you purchased? Besides the size.

Did you have to swap out the TPMS from your old wheels to the new wheels?
Or is it different on the honda?
TPMS are not in the wheels but around the wheel well. Just need to reset it with the new set up and you are golden!
When you did this upgrade, do you still used the tpms sensor for the pressure? if not, let me know if you can turn off the yellow light at the screen thanks
Hey brother! so i got the parts off amazon. The links are in the description for everything. Now TPMS meter is not on the tire. It is on the car. So when you get the new tires on, calibrate it. When it does is it measures the height of the tire and when it goes below that it will trip the sensor. Hondas prior had the tpms sensor on the actual tire or in the tire itself. These new hondas are not the case. I hope this helped! thanks for watching too!
BLP3 Motors thanks a lot brother, yeah that definitely helps me a lot, I had a bad experience with my civic but it’s a 2013. I’m now planning to buy a new 2018 or 2019 and I’m happy to know I won’t have that problem.
Do new wheels. Feel. Heavier? The noise in the road is normal from 18 vs 17 ?
This upgrade will affected the suspension ?
They honestly felt the same. Road noise with my set up was actually a tad bit quieter. The car has a decent amount of road noise in general before mods. Upgrade did not affect suspension at all. Moving up a size honestly changed Aesthetic’s more than anything. If I went up 2 sizes I would of had to make a few adjustments. Also with the tires I ran, I had no rub. I ran a wider shorter tire
Just never go higher than 18z if they are stock on 16/17 which mean you can switch sizes without having to change anything but tires and rims
So you upgrade from "17 up to "18 how does the ride feel? Does it affect your speedometer?
The ride feels a little smoother but hardly a different. I wish we could eliminate the road noise in general. The speedometer isn’t really affected. I’d say going up to 20s would. Also there is no tpms sensor in the tire. It has a sensor somewhere external that measures

Super late on this, but I got a 18’ Hatch Ex and I just bought some type r wheels for it, anybody know what I need to fit them in there?
They should fit. the tpms stuff is outside the wheels but i responded way too late haha

10th Gen Honda's, are they Hub Centric or Lug Centric ?
If you want wheels you can use without hubcentric rings you need wheels with a 64.1mm center bore. This will severely limit your options and honestly isn’t necessary. Just go with hubcentric rings
I just bought an after market wheel, which has a Hub Bore Size of 73.1 mm and need to get it down to 64.1 mm. I see plenty of brands on Amazon and Ebay. Only problem is choosing the best. I see you have a plastic one. How is it handling so far and how is the performance? Also i am thinking about aluminium hub centric rings. Let me know your thoughts and recommendations.
EvilRyu it worked great! No issues at all
I recommend the plastic variety if you live in salty winter areas so then the rings don't seize to the hub or your wheels. If you can find the right size, Gorilla Automotive makes awesome plastic ones for cheap. But looking up the honda bore size of 64.1mm, you don't have many options at all; 78mm is what they offer from their site.

Dealership can adjust with their laptop program. I think only up to 18's though. Might not matter on the 10th gen either, not sure.
