I know its a joke but the banana for scale actually did help me understand the tightness of that spread better! XD
Right? 😂
I had trigger issues with my Trion at first, but the break-in period was minimal. The recommended way of breaking it in (as per advice from Gameface when I contacted them about it), was to slam-fire it dry a few times with no spacers, then keep doing so first with one spacer and then with two. This broke it in relatively quickly, and I haven't had issues with it since.
I had (unintentionally) dry fired it a few times before this issue happened, perhaps it just needs more.
@BradleyPhillipsYT yeah it needed like 10-15 dry slamfires at each setting. It's worth noting that before doing this the trigger sticking issue was worse and more problematic with the spacers in than without. After breaking it in as described, just fine.
"who am I to judge" what a great quality to have, nice!
I have had my trion for a good long while now
I had the trigger issue at first but after a little tinkering i got it to work fine. I used it at a game and it worked wonderfully for me, perfect for the 200fps cap the wars I go to have. Personally I've got one of those printed rifling muzzles, the Accunub from DetroitDartWorks. Served me well, love the blaster.
I just want to say that I have seen a lot of different reviews for different guns but this over all is THE BEST review I have seen for any blaster. Incredible job and obviously lots of effort and time was put into this!! Earned a follow
Are we not gonna talk about the guy at 1:02 dodging every shot
love the Fortunate Son in the beginning.
That plays on a loud speaker in the Vietnam themed part of the field
@@BradleyPhillipsYT That is top tier. If I ever come to live in Australia I would drive forever to play at that field.
I had the same trigger issue but it went away after i went through about 12 of my 15-rnd talon mags. I swapped out the grip and stock for some magpul furniture (moe grip and ctr stock) and it’s been an absolute beast for 200fps games.
Good to hear the issue went away with more use
This is a quality production!
A lad by the name of Carius has a fix for the Trion catch issues. Simple as running a file along some of the contact surfaces around the trigger/seer mech.
The jam-ups are super frustrating, but once it's broken in this is arguably the best out-of-the-box blaster you can hand someone to get into the hobby.
Just some food for thought, with my trion I stripped out all the "unnecessary" internals Including the slam fire mech, depriming lock, and safety, but let in the dart guide mech. Now it's basically a standard pump action springer that can deprime and no longer has any issues with the trigger locking up or jamming. It runs like a dream now and I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't need its slam fire capabilities.
Love my Trion actually... discovered recently that the stock barrel has a 1/2" ID, same as 17/32" brass.
And supposedly it will take a harrier 300m power spring! Seen it run with that and a spacer to get 250-270fps.
Jet blaster used to use the same ID barrel as 17/32" brass so that makes sense.
The trion seems nearly maxed out for its pt volume and barrel combo out of the box. I really like the loud mechanical prime sound too lol.
A couple notes to see if it helps you Bradley:
First, I had the catch lock issue when I first got the blaster as well, but a fix that seems to bypass it 99% of the time and lead to hours of operation without locks is shoving the priming handle forward with some authority. I almost push it forward harder than I pull it back. It seems to work for my blaster, and I have been getting no locks.
Second, I have scene a few youtubers solve the problem with a quick opening of the blaster, and taking the catch and running a knife or edged metal tool over the catch. Apparently it's too sharp, and the "break in" is the piece loosing that edge due to wear so it releases properly. The toll running over it simply blunts it and "breaks it in" right away.
Hope that helps!
Some people say it is the catch, others say it is a lock connected to the trigger.
i fixed the trigger issues with mine and my coworker's trion with a very thin silicone oil like slugs on trigger action. I also bought a 3d printer barrel lug delete that also held the barrel tightly so i was able to use a stander bearing scar.
You have to slam fire the Trion a lot to "break it in". Slam fire it with the two spacers! The friction will wear down the catch so it fires correctly.
I have a trion and love the look. I’m getting 230s with a SD of 3.5 with 2 spacers and a harrier upgrade spring. unfortunately, I’ve put probably a thousand rounds through it and the trigger still sticks sometimes. I’m just procrastinating fixing it because I would have to remove a rail mounted sling mount, red dot, moe grip and fore grip.
Trion's are massively popular in the arena. Easily 30-40% of all the players use one. Blaster aside, it's nice to see a company operating like GameFace who is specifically working with community members to make units like this. Excited to see more from them!
I did have the same issue with the trigger locking up, but I had a very unique way of solving that problem lol
How did you solve yours?
At 6:18 another option is to sand the feed lips down a bit to match the same opening size as The Trion mags ( and tachi mags ). This is both helpful with other blasters as well. Like the pinching issue on the DZP Mk3, the resistance against vangard pushers, and the metal skinny pusher on the upgraded spamf kit. I just sand all of my talon feed lips these days and it makes life so much easier.
Might have to give that a try
The blaster is quite good, I especially appreciate that one can swap the stock for a gbb spec airsoft grip, and an airsoft stock tube stock. This means, rather than having this thumbhole stock, one can install whatever grip one likes.
Do need to stress that it's real steel spec/gas blowback Airsoft or Gel blaster spec. AEG grips will not fit.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Which is good, AEG grips are unrealistic/unnecassarly bulky.
No way I’ve found a good, Aussie, nerf UA-camr!
waz up Bradley! i have a trion. it's almost new. sometimes the trigger locks up like yours. otherwise it's a nice blaster.
I was surprised that you reviewed the trion given the fact that it is mainly a cqb and fast paced style springer. For the price of 180 you guys have to pay for the trion I think the Worker Harrier destroys anything else in that price point. I have found the harrier is actuallly surprisingly good for ultra cqb despite being a springer and can shoot fast even if it does not have slam fire
Here is the issue I have with this particular dart comparison…. Comparing Worker bamboos to Trion darts doesn’t really highlight the effectiveness of using a lighter dart to pump up the intial velocity. Because you are reducing friction and changing weight at the same time. It would be much more telling to run Trion darts against Worker HE Gen 3s. Same surface for friction but at different weight of dart. The other part of that equation is matching up the results with the heavier dart with equal friction to the claims on the box. 130, 160, and 200 respectively. In my review I found it to meet those claims even with the heavier dart. I do agree that Worker Bamboos increase performance for pretty much any high performance springer though and overall this was a damn good review. And I love the gameplay footage as always.
Sidenote i have not had that trigger issue ever and I have had mine for about 6 or 7 months. But i know a lot of people have had that issue.
My next video is a dart comparison which includes Game Face Pros and a dart with no bamboo rings. I use Worker Bamboos for my testing because they are the best dart currently available.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I’m also working on a dart comparison video down the road but I look forward to seeing your results and comparing them. Especially since we live in different climates! Good stuff my man 💪
I own one. Didn't like it that much at the start (colors are meh), but it grows on me very quickly. Added a printed scar barrel and it becomes very impressive. Now it's probably the best blaster in it's price range. The nexus just got retired because of this thing.
I don't think anyone still uses the Nexus Pro here. Maybe in the USA it's more popular still.
@BradleyPhillipsYT depends on the game. Not everything is a 250+ fps pro match with 200$+ blasters. I still use my "old" ceda s at times or my derelict modified alpha trooper for in house fun
Would you recommend some e tape where the barrel meets the dart gate for a better seal?
I was going to get one. However if not got a low enough base starting. Need it under 150 then up for there.
I notice the pusher o ring rubbing the foam end (rear) of the next in line dart when push the first dart in the mag into the barrel. resulting in accelerated wear on darts (worker bamboo). Do you think it is normal?
the trigger issue you had to fire the blaster is caused by the primer not fully retracting forward. It thinks its in slam fire mode so simply push it ALL the way forward.
The pump grip was all the way forward and locked in place though?
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I thought the same thing until i gave it a hard press forward. If not then you have a different problem sorry,
You should get the pew pew tech
do a razor/razor pro blaster review?
i had my trigger issue not go away on another one i have but my first one it did go away, and as for the scar tip if u can get someone to 3d print it there is a part on printables that replaces the threaded part witj just a barrel holder and gets rid of the threads and allows you to add a 16mm outer diameter scar attachment
The barrel holder sounds like a good idea actually
Link?
@@MasterKydis I don’t think it will expose much but it’s enough to get somthing on there or if u get another longer barrel it helps to keep it in place
@@brothersieger I mean link to printables scar
I have been going back and forth about getting a Trion or a Harrier. I still haven’t decided, but they have very similar use cases…
They're actually quite different. The Harrier can shoot up to 300+ fps. The Trion isn't really capable of that.
I have both. They’re both great
Hello, can anyone help me find out the weight of the blaster in the package? Important for delivery
I'm actually curious, how does this blaster stack up against the nexus pro, they both have pretty similar feature, just the trion have a higher velocity
They're very similar, to the point where you can't really call one better than the other.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT guess it's the nexus pro I'll get next then 😂, thanks yo 👍🏻
I have both. The Trion feels like a solid upgrade compared to the Nexus (assuming you don’t have trigger issues or know how to solve them)
@@kazefw3834 Trion is miles ahead of the nexus. The prime is a world of difference smoother and it basically comes with all the upgrades a fully kitted out nexus has straight out of the box.
Dude at 1:02 is straight up Nerf neo
... Why did you put the flashlight backwards
How hard is this gun to prime?
Why does this have better ‘accuracy’ than the Worker Harrier when both use the same SCAR barrel?
More consistent velocity would be a contributing factor
The worker scar is also not so great for higher fps
Are you using it in a gel soft game ?
Yes
1:00 Dude just slided like he was in Warzone wth
what blaster did that guy at 0:10 have?
Steyer AUG replica gel blaster
@@BradleyPhillipsYT ah, thank you
lol here’s a banana for scale
I always think gf trion is better than worker barrier, trion came out earlier,it is more compact, more modulus, cheaper, more fun and cooler
18:42 Do you think the foliage would have spoiled your shot if you fired?
No, it was pretty clear straight through to him from where my blaster was.
Bro do you live in a rain forest? Haha all those animals calls amazing
Nope, just Australia
Little late on that phil
They only arrived in Australia the other week
@@BradleyPhillipsYT oh forgot about that sorry brad
first
If it can't fire every single time you pull the trigger then it is worthless.
I would agree if the fix wasn’t free and easy. But with foam darts this is not a great argument as I often see fly wheel blasters dead because of batteries, blasters prone to jamming and so on. Foam blasters tend to have some issues. At our games the Trion seems to be a favorite or backup. Because it’s more reliable than other “better” blasters.
Not interested in the Trion. It's too ugly with better options out there like the DZ mk4
The DZ Mk4 looks far "uglier" than this.
@BradleyPhillipsYT nah. The Trion stock looks like exposed ribs. It's silly. Plus, an all white body with a couple parts in an accent color is too blah unless it's a better quality blaster like harrier. The mk4 has color everywhere. The barrel alone makes the mk4 cooler looking than the trion. For the price, any nexus with a metal upgrade kit, mk4, or 3 xshot long shots are way cooler than the Trion.
I own both and they have their uses. Trion is if you want a lighter set up but keeping the 200 fps power. MK4 is when you want it semi modded for 300fps or keep the 200 fps power but with a more intimidating and literally a heavier set up. Also Trion is pretty customizable in the stock, handle, and grip department that you can paint and customize it the way you want.
If you're talking about quality Trion is really up there. The plastic is so nice. If you own a Dart Zone Max anything, the plastic on that but smoother and more solid to the touch.
@lanoche replacing the front grip is one thing, but replacing the stock is such a dramatic and expensive upgrade you might as well buy a blaster that already has a buffer tube. You have to replace grip when you replace the stock, too. Hard pass on the trion for me. I'm a lynx guy anyway.
?
What is better, Trion or Unicorn?
