which machine model is that... i actually want to confirm if 5002 have SSL option available to be configured in SMTP? would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Added addresses to scan to email list, but when hit start to scan and send, the names don't appear in the address book to select or the one's that do appear we scan and send goes through, but nothing ever arrives in email.
The scanner default screen settings are both set with PDF as the default file type but when using the device in person scanning defaults to sending a TIFF unless I manually change it... Have tried unplugging and plugging it back in, restarting the machine via the web console... Tried changing the setting to tiff rebooting it then changing the setting back to pdf and rebooting it. Nothing works to set this things default scan file type to pdf.
Ask your IT Administrator if this is how it is set up to give you one page .pdf attachments else ask him to change it to combine all pages into one attachment.
HINT: In some versions there's a flag right below the Administrator Email Address called "Auto Specify Sender Name". Dont forget to set this option to ON. Otherwise the printer show an error and wont send the file.
+Krystal R. Hi, I am a Ricoh support tech in Canada and happened here by chance. If by your question you mean you would like to use the address book you built in Gmail on your Ricoh device there is no way to do that directly as they are different file types. You can use the Export to CSV file in your Google address book and set it up to import it into your ricoh device using an old utility called Smart Device Monitor that Ricoh no longer supports. It appears you can sign up for a free trial of the newer Web Smart Device Monitor which you can use to do the same import process. You will have to re-arrange the CSV file to put the information in the correct fields or the import will error out. Unless you have an extremely large address book you are probably better off building the address book new on the device. Don't forget to back up your address book using the Maintenance tab.
If anyone uses an MP C305, I couldn't find the SMTP SSL option in the web menu but on the device it was in the menu that appears if you click on SMTP server.
This is a great video... have never had an issue getting this to work with an on premise exchange server. However, how would one configure this if using hosted mail with Office 365 ?
+TheGeoffers08 The "server" address would be smtp.office365.com, Then you need to enable a connector in Office 365, to allow all traffic coming from the WAN IP of the network. Ricoh does not recommend this as they say it doesn't play well with Office 365, but I have gotten it to work before.
If it is a noise that not normal, have your Ricoh service engineer come out and address it for you. Some noises are fine but if left unattended it may damage you document feeder severely!
