I was just in a head on collision riding with a friend in a can am going 24mph on the road when a toyota turned in front of us. I gotta say thanks can am for having such safe vehicles🙏. If it werent for the crashbars on the front we would both have died.
Casey, easy on a maintained dirt road. Counties in the desert southwest have certain roads they keep maintained for the public, you can see that in the gravel put down and grated. Fun watching your adventures though. Stay Safe!!
Living in the French alps anything a rolback will fit down is paved. There are many lanes that are paved that your Chereokee with the bigger wheels would not fit between the buildings or trees. Localy recoveries in tight spots are a Toyota J70 SWB or Landrover 110 based wrecker with standard width rims n tyres and they will just fit down all our dirt/gravel roads. You do see rollbacks regularily in the dirt/gravel parking lots retreving cars that have died, normaly from riving through the wrong pothole and doing serious damage to engine/trans/suspension
I drove pickers and roll-backs for many years here in Wyoming, and still do occasionally when they need an extra hand. People wouldn't believe some of the places we've taken roll-backs, it's not too uncommon here at all. Another great video Casey! 👍🏻
All the rollback on dirt road talk reminds me that when I camped over at peoples bonfires back in New England I'd usually lay my bed on one of their trailers or flatbeds if they had them. They'd think I was missing brain cells until I explained that it was the flattest thing for miles AND I'd never seen a tick crawling around on metal rolling stock. That's one thing I love about Utah. I've seen one tick in three years.
When I used to have mud trucks we would haul them in on flat bed trailers and once we were unloaded we would set up our tents on the trailers. Nice flat dry surface to be on.
When I was out in Colorado driving some trails with my F250, we had to be real careful of all the side by side flying around. Don't think it would've ended real well colliding with one on the shelf roads.
Yeah, not sure who was at fault here, and glad everyone was ok. I hear you, I know those side by sides are a ton of fun and a lot of power for the weight of them. But I have been on some trails in my Ram 2500 and had near misses on blind turns that they were flying through. I would not mind having a side by side, but I just wish people who got them drove them smarter. Some of the switch backs I have had close encounters on would have ended poor for everyone if a collision happened.
@@dankeyes292 Yeah same with me. We actually helped a group that damaged a rear control I'm guessing from going too fast. They didn't really have much in the way of tools and the jack they had didn't work. Luckily I carry a bunch of tools with me and they were able to limp it to where they could get it with there truck.

I was out riding my dirt bike on Saturday, in the Colorado desert and was quite surprised to see a roll back owned by a well known local company, come off of the highway onto the dirt roads and up the steep dirt hills. He was called out on a pick up, and after having to climb several hills looking for the rig he had to pick up, found out that after all that they had gotten going and took off before he got there.
First off, well wishes to anyone who got hurt or injured in this crash. Looking at the overall damage, this must have been a heck of an impact, especially for the Can-Am occupants. But also, when I first saw the damage on the Tacoma I was a little scared to see what the Can-Am was going to look like. I was expecting something in a million pieces, scattered all over the road, but surprisingly, the damage on it was not as bad as I thought it would be.
