Badge Degradation is WACK! It feeds into the "grind" instead of actually PLAYING the game! I've never been a fan of "quests" because they detract from playing. Period.

My hesitation with these kinds of objective oriented grinds is that 2k doesn't know how to make them cater to the whole community/fun. An example are the takeovers and rep system - you have to play specific game modes and do specific things in those modes to unlock them. As a rec/proAm 5v5 player, I don't want to be forced to play park or MyCareer games just to unlock something.
That goes for any game mode.. You should get rewarded for playing no matter the mode within the game..I don't like the city/rec/pro-am, but the game forces you to play that for season rewards...it's garbage, 2k does not value your time just your wallet.
They need to take squad rec out sucks when u play wit 3 and the other 2 r just selling and staying in the paint and playing buddy ball

If everybody is a demi then it 100% comes down to skill at that point if shooting is easy... Who needs a titan? ...if defense works who needs a lock? 2k20 was the best 2k i ever played ... It had its bugs but slashers could shoot and play shots could defend... Just needed to take the time to actually try

I still think 2k24 builder is great but I always felt 2k23 & 24 kinda needed to combine some stuff & it would be great. Definitely need to be able to make more all around players at most heights so that we (as players) have no excuse but to show skill/IQ as deciding factors in games. Hopefully 2k brings out something most people will tolerate.

@@slumcitykidd9576 No 2k23 was good the first month it was out. The superstar builds made the game fun, the EXPLOITS are what ruin the game every year. People want to cheat and spam instead of playing real basketball, that’s the real issue no one wants to talk about. Put any of the cheesers on a REAL basketball court and my point will have been made. Literally the exact same thing happened to 24. First two weeks the game was balanced and felt smooth, cheesers started to complain and they make up 90% of the “community” now, so of course 2k listened to them and now we have the same game as 22 and 23(left right left right spam into a fade away three ball) It happens every year, notice the pattern.

6’4 and under - dunking and rebounding.
6’5 - 6’9 should be balanced and whatever you put up makes the other harder. (Better shooter = harder to dunk)
6’10+ - ball handle and shooting.

grand badges/ mentality badges, that grind was so real and rewarding this can be achieved 2k done it before
this may be a hot take, but i feel 2k was most fun when every person on the team was role players and not demi gods. You got THE LOCKDOWN the PLAYMAKER and the GLASS CLEANER

And when everyone has limiting builds, the people that are truly better at the game shine, its not oh i made a build that is OBJECTIVELY more FUN and SUITED TO A PLAYSTYLE and then the other team has the Joe Knows build with 94 dunk 92 3 pointer 92 ball handle with Defensive Menaces all around them with Contact dunks and high 3 pointers

Yup it had way more skill if you were nice at 2k back then it would show but now people need to be able to do everything at a high level to be good af the game
Imagine 2k going back to pie charts but with rise & elite methods
Pro am or pro rec needs to have fatigued increased and more prominent in that style game so that your movements or excessive usage of turbo will highly effect ur player in the last two quarters meaning you have to be more aware of over dribbling or creating low strength bigs getting beaten up in the paint ur physical should be on another level in a (pro am/pro rec) mode for the players looking for more realistic competition. If you've turbo the whole game ur stamina should go from 99 to 40 meaning all badges connected to ur stamina would drop from hof to bronze also means ur speed drops ur accelerate drops etc and includes badges dropping also meaning the use of timeout would be more beneficial to the game.
No the grind doesn't need to be that serious, nothing wrong with everyone's players having the same capability, time for skill to shine

They'll balance it out by having your attributes decrease when you dont use it often like badge regression and the only way to make it permanent is to have like a gold place setter or something that you can only unlock in the season pass

This is not a new concept they did this before in 2k16 I think where you constantly play like that to keep your stats up so you had the ability to get your man to a true 99 overall
They should put win objectives to unlock animations like 100 wins in rec , points scored , assists , rebounds & which ever one you complete should towards a category for playmaking , shooting or defense

I don't think it should be EVERY attribute being nearly maxed out...I would say 1/5 of the total attributes: close, mid, 3 shooting, driving dunk, standing dunk, driving layups, steals, blocks, perimeter defense, interior defense, blocks, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, passing, dribbling. So roughly 15 attributes...chose 3 that can be nearly maxed out in addition to how your build was designed. Example: I make a 3 and D guy so my 3-ball, perimeter defense and steals would already be capable of being nearly maxed. Then I can choose which 3 from the remaining attributes say mid, driving dunk, blocks. It rounds out the player without being able to do everything well and it makes players consider how to build based on those they run with the most.

I like the idea. It's a good replacement for 20+ badges or hof badges for legend. 2K used the 2k league as one of its reasons for having balance in the game. With the league gone, they can be more free with the type of balance in the game.
I really wish they just seperate Mycareer and Park ... Being able to do everything should be in Mycareer but have piecharts in Partk to create more diversity because now more than ever attributes barely matters . 2K24 had guards contesting bigs with high finishing while under the rim . We have people with mid 3s make a lot of shot because of badges from their high midrange

Idk, how I feel about this, I like the idea about having your player get better, it’ll help on ppl’s first build cause everyone almost always messes it up because they missed the threshold to get the dunk animation or badge they didn’t know about

Idk it'd be ok to implement some sort of grind system that'll let your player reach his full potential in every attribute category after you reach that initial 99. I dont have any confidence in them implementing anything that works tho. Plus, limiting the builder as much as they can is how they're able to get people to spend money on more builds anyway. So it's all a pipe dream

If that’s the case they might as well use the same builder as 2k24. When you got to your physicals and see your badges and attributes you should be able to grind and max your player as high as your badges, attributes and animations can be. it can’t go above your cap. That’s fair for every position can be balance and a demigod. Also get rid of badge regression and make badge stacking better during gameplay
I like this thematically speaking. Grinding should be incentivesed and the grind should show in your players progression
i’m telling yall now: the quickest way to get ppl off this game is for a casual to consistently play against a team of lebrons. keep the game as balanced as possible

I feel like I shouldn’t be limited in what I make. But if we are going to limit things how about we go to camps for certain players to unlock attributes. So say shaq camp we get standing dunk post hook and rebounding and we do the games/drills and we get +5 on that as the max for a permanent attribute upgrade
Also, the grind in college football 25 is way more fun than 2k24. You can start off with a certain overall, and getting your attribute points isn't that hard either, and when you buy abilities, they didn't cost that much 2k needs to either go back to skills points or go to the 2k16 route with badges and player builder just update it its really not that complicated 2k16 had the best player build system in my opinion
I don't mind working to grind new stats... but LOSING stats if unused I WON'T buy the game.. I'm waiting a month to see what's going on first..Not gonna pay for a game that makes me keep working for shit i've earned.

Even if this system works, that will reduce the amount of builds one makes, since you're in a marathon grind. That reduces vc purchases, so how does that benefit 2ks profits

I hate the badge degradation because if you a person and you don’t have a squad and randoms not passing then u won’t be able to keep certain badges up and change twos from make it take it
The problem there is going to be the animations the smartest way to go about it is give everyone all of the animations however, the speed and effectiveness of the animations be affected by something like the system that they’re talking about center can have Steph Curry‘s jumpshot, however, because of his low three ball The shot speed is nowhere near what it is for someone with a 99 three now if you feel like grinding out to get the animation to be effective by all means go right ahead I wouldn’t be mad at that, but if they put the animations is locked, there’s going to be a glitch where people can unlock it early on and it will throw the whole system off trying to fix it
Bro demigods are realistic. Every single professional ball player can shoot dribble and dunk. Obviously some are much better than others but they can all do the basic skills. I love the idea of making play and success build your attributes. The only problems I'm having is I play with randoms so much it's hard to keep a positive win percentage
If anything 2k might let you get a demi god build with cap on it like a lebron template but the most 3 an free throw you get is like 90 free throw an maybe 84 3pt maybe 85 3pt

Omm I said somethin almost EXACTLY like this on 2k Tutes channel yesterday. Basically it’s like COD, our build is the gun and grinding for better attributes is like adding attachments. We can make our builds a lil more unique but it worries me that small builds will be phased out again

The grind would need to be slower and through the grind meeting thresholds to develop the actual skills of your player.. but the 2k12 kinda concept of grinding and being able to build your builds and animation regardless of animation iis good but you just gotta grind more or less depending on position. Make that a updates concept of 2k12 amd might just have a winner again

This sounds good but, i feel like the casuals are gonna complain about the people who actually grind. And if 2k does something like this they’re gonna make it easy for everyone to be the same as per usual. But overall that concept sounds amazing for the real grinders, I’m here for it.
i enjoyed when the build system had positives and negative to every build, like dual archetype and pie charts, in 2k19 if i make a sharpshooting playmaker, i am NOT dunking the ball at all, i have like a 60 dunk, and if i have a pure playmaker, my finishing is better but not elite, but my shooter suffers. now people just try and find a build like that joe knows build, or a build like the 2k21 next gen demis that can do everything, so boring and not fun. i want to go back to actually having positives and TRUE NEGATIVES to builds.
I would be for it. There should be hard caps on certain things like physicals depending on height and weight, but it shouldn't be as low as they are right now. For example, Giannis has like an 84 speed in the game, but at 6'11" I think the highest speed you can get is like a 77.
I'm totally ok with there being a grind. VC for attributes isn't the only thing people spend money for. People really be buying these in-game animations, clothing and vehicles. Plus, if the biggest money maker is MyTeam, then MyCareer shouldn't be taxed the same.
But what they could do to achieve this is to make it to where we can make our builds how we can now, but make stretching the build's stats further, again, to a hard cap, is making the next stats above the originally made to be a higher VC cost. Or maybe, once you achieve certain efficiency thresholds, then you unlock that particular attribute up to a certain point.
So if you want your block rating to go up, contest a certain amount of shots which result in a miss, and if you don't play good defense then it results in a loss. Dribbling could be performing a certain amount of dribble moves with success, but if you dribble into a defender, even if you don't lose the ball should go against you. That would make it so that these "dribble gods" out here cheesing the game, using the crab mechanic and all this other nonsense that happens would actually work AGAINST what would gain you further attribute points. For steals, make the ratings matter, so if you have mid to high 80 steal, you actually are accurate with where the ball is if you choose correctly with the right stick. Choosing the right direction would be neutral, getting a pluck whether it results in a steal or not would gain you progress toward another attribute, but choosing the wrong direction or trying to steal when the ball is nowhere near you would negatively effect you and so on with other attributes.
I'd be all for it, but only if they did it right. And we all know, they usually don't get it right the first time around.
Again it's a good idea but u gotta understand ur audience 2k players DONT CARE ABOUT BASKETBALL if this was a different community it'll probably work

It should be interesting but the physical pie chart needs tweaking. A 99 in one defensive attribute shouldn’t take away from other categories to the point where inside scoring or defensive playmaking is non existent
I think this years builder is near perfect. There’s only flaws that could be worked upon. Like removing badge regression. Refining some of the attributes. I. E. - Speed and speed with ball makes no sense, it should be just speed and then ball handle attribute should affect your speed with ball…naturally. Close shot and interior defence needs work etc… point is, they should stop for a min reinventing the wheel and try to build and perfect what they already have.
Ps - the concept mentioned in video would suck… grind is ok for nice things, perhaps a certain animation or some perm boost of sort or maybe an option to respec your player at the end of season, but I’d hate to play a game where grind beats skill.
Just make a legit team based oriented basketball game. Where you need to work together to achieve common goals!

So is this going to the last 2k25 and we can keep playing into the next year and we can keep the build we make so that all the money we send does not seem so bad if I can keep my builds like skins in fortnight and they update when the nba do but to spend 1000 on 2k24 not to lose all my players next year to do it all again I'm done going down that rabbit hole😢

That game aint gone be worth playing until season 2 probably. Everyone gone be hyped about demigods and they gone patch it all like they do every year. Burnt money everywhere.
Tell me what’s wrong if everyone is a demigod? Why do you want a grinding system? What’s wrong if everyone has everything from the jump?
I don’t see this happening. 2K makes money through new builds. If we can perfect our build over time, we won’t need new ones, or at least not nearly as many new ones. There’s no upside for them, and u know they don’t do anything just for us.
Plz bring back numbered bases
2k patched my build a week & a half into me buying the game & and I couldn’t play career to get my badges where i needed them to be be cuz of badge regression. Then all 3 builds I made after that was useless in the rec so i was stuck having to learn the original build in the rec all year. I refuse to buy this game till I get confirmation it’s more than worth the time and money
