- Rishi Sunak has insisted Sir Keir Starmer should spend less time reading Liz Truss’s new book and instead focus on Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner’s tax advice.
Mr Sunak’s jibe led Labour leader Sir Keir to accuse the “billionaire” Prime Minister of “smearing a working-class woman” as the pair clashed in the Commons.
Ms Rayner has faced scrutiny about whether she paid the right amount of tax on the 2015 sale of her Stockport council house because of confusion over whether it was her principal residence.
The Labour MP has said she will “do the right thing and step down” if she is found to have committed a crime in relation to her living situation a decade ago but remains confident she has followed the law at all times.
Mr Sunak also took aim at his predecessor Ms Truss as he told MPs he had the “conviction” to say her economic policies were “wrong”, adding that Sir Keir failed to do similar during Jeremy Corbyn’s tenure as Labour leader.
Ian Collins says the "hypocrisy" from Angela Rayner will be her biggest problem.

By pumping upwards of 200 billion over successive Tory governments into the housing market causing massive house price inflation its the only way medium low income people can get a permanent roof over thier head.
So no its not hypocritical to want to shut down a system that has created 66% house inflation since 2010 and now costs the government 20 billion a year going to private landlords in housing support and create a fairer system.

I'm sorry but I don't care who is worth what, if they breach laws and tax rules they should be held accountable. In this instance it's the tax avoidance, the lying, the fact she seems to get away with lying (re beer gate), and the fact she's lied on the electoral role which regular folk would be punished for...oh and the fact she wants to abolish the ability to buy your social house...when she did and make excess funds when she dodged tax.
That's got nowt to do with Sunaks wife, yes that was bad but it wasn't illegal, they didn't lie either they accepted it did look bad, it was bad, and they addressed it. Rayner has not done anything like that.
The Statute of Limitations has expired on any offence she may have committed. Therefore, it's no longer actionable.

One she doesn't want others to have the ability to buy their own social home at a cut market price, because she worries many do as she did and sells it on for a profit later, which most do not, so it's ok fkr her to use the policy she apparently loathe so much, but it was ok for her to use it.
Secondly I don't think there's a limit on tax avoidance, there very well maybe for the electoral role, but not for tax, the tax office forgets nothing. Nevertheless whatever the outcome, she's lied and she's refused to release evidence she claims exonerates her. Why?

Just to put house inflation into context prices have gone up since 2010 by 66% while average wages have shrunk by -7% and 50 billion has been pumped into right to buy by government.

Lets get this right. There are 12 police investigators on ARayners case. At most she owes £3000. Meanwhile Baroness Mone made millions out of the PPE scandal (people died because of the scandal). So why aren't there about 12,000 police officers on her case?
If, at her brother's address, they were wrong lying claiming single person occupancy, that could well come to more than your suggested £3,000. But, more importantly, it would amount to deliberate fraud. That you are attempting to minimise potential fraud says not much good about you.

Boris got a 2.1 in classics much to his chagrin but, in the great scheme of things, such a degree is no use if you are a deeply flawed individual. If she is allowed to remain and get into front bench then that is extremely dangerous position for labour, we already have Kahn damm ulez that does nothing but forces families to spend up to two hour travelling by bus one way to get to work that only takes 30 mins to drive each way

I would call to an end to inherited wealth in general... I know people want to leave things for their families but it creates an uneven playing field in this country. If you are truly deserving of that status, you should work your way up from nothing. The UK never lost its aristocracy and that is why is one of the most unequal countries in the world.
