Loopcloud App vs Sounds - What's the difference?

Producers, Joshua Casper here with Loopcloud. I just wanted to discuss the differences between the Loopcloud app and the Loopcloud VST.
Recently, I released a video that sparked a lot of debate and comments in the comment section, which we appreciate. But before we dive into the distinctions, it's essential to know that if you're a Loopcloud subscriber, you have access to both of these tools. There's no preference; it's all about what helps you create the best music.
If you prefer quickly finding samples and dragging them into your DAW like I do, then the VST is probably for you. On the other hand, if you're looking to create a full song using eight tracks and built-in effects, we highly recommend using the app or a hybrid approach. We don't want you to choose one over the other; we want you to use what suits your workflow best.
Let's delve into the differences in feature sets between the two. Firstly, the most significant distinction is that the Loopcloud app is a separate application, while the VST integrates into your DAW. Both grant access to over 4 million loop samples and sounds, but the VST only provides access to wave files, whereas the app lets you discover and access samples, Apple loops, and even serum presets since the latest update. You can preview and install them directly within the Loopcloud app, making it more versatile.
The app offers multi-track capabilities with up to eight tracks, while the VST functions essentially as one track. However, you can have multiple instances of the VST on multiple tracks in your project, running multiple loops if desired. More good news, both options integrate with your DAW seamlessly.
Additionally, both of them have a "find similar sounds" feature built in. Still, the app goes a step further by offering "find harmonic" and "find rhythmic" matches, providing more AI versatility than the VST.
Another advantage of the app is the ability to import your own sounds and manage them within the app. This is not possible with the VST. The app also includes an air tagging system for the imported sounds, keeping them organized and tagged for you.
In the store view of the app, you can explore new packs, see what's popular, and create your collections. These features are missing from the VST, which is more of a search-oriented tool.
Two standout features of the app that the VST lacks are built-in effects and the ability to create patterns from one shots. Finally, the app offers cloud storage and hardware integration with various music production gear.
Ultimately, your choice between the app and the VST comes down to your workflow and project needs. Different projects may benefit from one over the other, and as a Loop subscriber, you have both options at your disposal. We want you to use the one that best suits your needs.

I'm a monthly subscriber but ever since about a year ago you guys made it harder to find genres specific loops. It was much easier with the older version.
I agree. I love loopcloud. But that part can be a little tough at times. Also I struggle with the library some too.
Totally agree ..it’s also harder too find free samples and what’s new..they also rarely update what’s to buy on loopdrum /loop play.
I currently only keep my loopcloud account too get the free plugins each month if it wasn’t for those I’d cancel it

MIDI file preview would be nice even if only through a basic GM soundfont. Another feature i would love are scenes in the loopcloud app so i could have a scene for inteo/drop/verse etc. Only having 8 slots feels a bit limited. Also if there is a possibility for loopcloud to team up or buy Audiomodern, an integration of Loopmix seems like a perfect fit to me. Loopcloud don't sound become a DAW but the perfect place to do protoptype and sketch arragements. My 5 cents 😀

Would love to see your workflow for creating an A and B and/or C section using the app and getting it swiftly arranged in the DAW. Currently, using the app's 8 tracks is excellent for getting an A section going. How best to get further sections? Use multiple apps? Can more than one app sync to DAW? Also, currently track balances set in this marvellous app seem to get lost when dragging them into the DAW - is the normal or am I missing something? Great work on this app, long may it continue :) Many thanks!

I'm new to Loopcloud. I found it via the route of looking for a sample library. But it seems it's much more than that - a lot of which I wouldn't need (or am not ready for). I'm almost 100% hardware-only, and just need a source of samples. Given this, is LC still a good fit, or is LC more for someone who works at a PC/DAW? Thank you.
Loopcloud is great, yet I don't see the point of having two apps that do essentially the same thing only one has fewer features than the other. If "sounds" had some sort of differential, it might be worth it.

I am missing something. How can I install Loopcloud Sound? I have the LoopCloud App installed and my account is current but I do not see how to install LoopCloud Sound. Can I get a bit of help please?

The new version is inconvenient for working with your collection! It is already impossible to find the right sound in a few clicks. You have to poke around in the library for a long time, and it's just like looking for sounds in your folders. Loopcloud is no longer more convenient to work in the finder.☹☹☹
The app is crashing since version 5, if you add your own samples... The app is defective and nobody solves this problem. if you want people to use your sounds, FIX YOUR APP!!! paid customer here, tested on 3 computers, same crashes when scanning own samples!
It even crashes, when I add a sample to my favorite. Every single time. Wrote them 2 emails about it and all you get is a link to make sure, you have the newest version.

Why didn't you made the Loopcloud app a vet?? Would be much better
Customer Care can test themselves the application. Add a ton of samples, scan them and will crash. Your testing crew is either non existent, or they test with small amount of loops and samples. Test your app and make it work.
