Loopcloud After 1 Year | All the FREE stuff and perks that add value

- Of the loop and sample subscription services, I have found Loopcloud to offer the best value. Not only because of the 4 million + loops but largely because of all the free stuff included. Free plugins every month from Plugin Boutique, free samples from packs, free Loopcloud DRUM machine and much more. The subscription is less about the credits and more about being part of the Loopcloud community. The parent company, Beatport owns Loopmasters, Loopcloud and Plugin Boutique, so they can offer subscribers more than splice.com or sounds.com or most of the other competitors.
In this video, I highlight the plugin suite features of loopcloud with attention to the built-in 8 track DAW, the online FXs, the DRUM and PLAY instruments as well as how these tools all work together. I’ll also make predictions on how this service model is likely to evolve and include A.I. in the future.
It’s easy to overlook all the FREE stuff that adds to the value of a subscription:

Started using Loopcloud today and still finding my way around.
So far I really like the fast workflow for music creation.
Thanks for this '1 year in' review Jeffy!
Hope you're well.
Enjoy the weekend, cheers!
I just got the free UA PolyMAX synth. Simple, but great sounding.
@@JeffyG So did I, and indeed it sounds great!
I already bought from Plugin Boutique so I'm already a bit familiar and love the free plugin they throw in each month. Sometimes you also get to choose between two plugins or even a suite of plugs, but in a light version.
Solid video just felt better about the capabilities of loopcloud compare to the competition and have been pleasantly surprised still randomly coming across features that assist the noise making efficiency. Learning of the business side subsidiaries and acquisitions confirms my decision as correct for me and excited about the future.thank. Well done. Video deserves more views !
Great to hear!
This really tickled my beanbag! well done ! thanks!
Good info. thanks
You bet
Appreciated the detail and thoroughness. Haven't used any service of this kind before, so very helpful to get that overview. A few questions for you if you have a second... 1) it seemed like you were able to drag audio, midi or both from Loopcloud app into your DAW ...meaning that you could then save them either as midi files or audio files for re-use in other songs ...is that correct? 2) all the loops/samples/midi files you've downloaded ...are they in some proprietary format that requires the Loopcloud App (and therefore an ongoing subscription) to be able to use the sounds perpetually? and 3) Loopcloud-Artist-for-a-month is currently available from Plugin Boutique as 'the gift' when making a purchase. Is it worth getting for a month (obviously to be able to try it out), but for however much content that you could download and keep (while adhering to their rules ...and assuming that the downloaded stuff is playable/useable in Logic, Studio One etc...if I don't decide to renew the subscription? Maybe all this is covered in another video?? Thanks again for your efforts on the video - well done.
Loops and samples are *.wav files. These are audio files, not midi. As far as I know, Loopcloud does not offer midi files. All the samples and loops in my accumulated library are *.wav It's a standard format - not proprietary. You do not need a subscription to use those files. Once you've downloaded a *.wav file or a pack of files, they're yours for good. Yes - you can subscribe to Loopcloud for 1 month, download as much as you're allowed, get the 'gift' and cancel your subscription.
Thanks for the follow up - appreciated
You don’t get the free plugin from pluginboutique if you don’t use money, see when you input the discount code, softube dirty tape you added to the cart disappears. But because of the plugins loopcloud gives you, it’s still a pretty good deal
You’re right. But, in the previous freebie via Loopcloud I did get the free gift claim as well, even though I didn’t spend any money. Seems to be a loop hole [intentional pun] they’ve now closed. 😜
do you get to own your downloads from the subscription?
Yes - you keep the samples you download forever.
So not only do you pay a subscription but you have to pay individually after that also?
No - just the subscription. Either you pay once a month, or once annually.
Thanks Jeff, best of luck with your music@@jeffagoddard
These loop services are great but I find them exceedingly tedious when using them in songs that involve a multitude of chord progressions. Percussion is OK, but trying to adapt harmonic material beyond one or minimal chord genres are time consuming with less than stellar results.
Very true. As a musician I’m more inclined to just play melodic parts with the synth or sample sounds I like. But for non-musicians, dragging in a loop, or chopping a sample from an old hit, seems the typical approach these days
Nah I’m studio one you can change the audio to MIDI data, and also take the chords from the audio
I just won’t do any subscription based stuff like Logic Pro personally
Only Logic Pro for iPad is subscription based. Regular Logic Pro is a one time payment of $199
@@psychoticchemist yeah I’m using iPad for music. I never use a PC. Other hardware as well but pc yikes I can’t click a mouse to make music
@@SonicVibe I actually just tried a free trial of Logic Pro on my iPad and it’s incredible. By far the best DAW on iPad, and it’s not even close. I know subscriptions are really suboptimal, but in this case I think it’s worth it since it would be your main DAW.
@@SonicVibeyou dont have to use the mouse. You can just get a midi controller and play music, and then not have to pay monthly for your daw
@@hunterjansson3003 I mainly like all the auv3 on iOS and it’s portable
They removed free which are actually paid within the subscription samples mid subscription, just like that without loosing even a word about it. I don`t recommend you sign up with this greedy corpo and rather support indy sound designers and small bussinesses instead of this.
I noticed that. It sucks.
@@JeffyG I wrote them a mail asking about this and it turnes out that people where too happy with they're daily "free" samples that they felt the need to cut this part of the service that i already paid for with my yearly sub ($220) to make subscribers spend more points/money.
They don't value the customer or customer satisfaction they only value the shareholder.
Here is a snippet of the answer:
《Due to the exponential growth of our sound library, we have decided to discontinue the distribution of free daily sounds. This change is intended to encourage subscribers to fully utilise their allocated monthly points and explore the full potential of our vast library of sounds.》
We apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding as we continue to enhance the Loopcloud experience for all our subscribers.
Isn't that just some greedy corpo BS. 😑
