Knockoff Timberland Review - I have done Basic Timberland review and the premium Timberland review in the past. After reading comments on those videos about timberlands I thought it would be fun to see if those timberland knock offs at every discount store are any good and how they stack up in style and construction against the real premium Timberland boots.

Never heard a bandsaw that laughs half way through a cut before.
It's good to know Weston has such a fun workplace for his tools
bzzzzz
The bzzzzing voice over, in a strange way, makes this whole thing widely hilarious!
Wdym. Happens to me every time
I've never used a bandsaw that had to take breaths mid cut either.
I died at the fake bandsaw noises. That was hilarious!
Fake? My bandsaw giggles and breaths mid cut just like his.
LOL. For a minute I thought there was something wrong with my volume and youtube. But when he had to inhale. . .LMAO
I nearly spit out my porridge after I started hearing the fake bandsaw noise hahaha🤣🤣🤣
How is that funny I got mad
@@robertrobert4768 lighten up
The fidelity of that bandsaw recording! I felt like I was really there.
Aight, you got me good with that bandsaw audio xD
Sound quality for the boot cutting is superb. :D
There's a fourth way of attaching outsoles: direct inject. That's what made Timberlands so innovative when they were first created and it's why it's so hard to separate the outsole from the upper on an authentic pair of Tims.
*_I love timberlands own at least 10 pairs in my lifetime and only thing I wore from 95 to 2000 but they were 30 to 45 bucks then.._*
Don't know what the fuck you're on about. the soles of tims always came off. They were bunk that got trendy. Good for stomping some dudes face in, bad for everything else.
@@jeepmanxj the pair I have are Goodyear Welt. Thats the strongest attachment you can get now. I believe you on the earlier models. Just a lotta hype.
@@ORIGINALDaveB they are made the same they have always been made. Tim's are fucking garbage boots.
@@jeepmanxj
The Timberland reviews on this channel suggest otherwise, i.e. that they're pretty good at their price point
Talk about the best of a bad bunch! I'd agree Kingshow is the best boot but BHPC might get you the most cred on the mean streets of the Upper West Side where I live XD just because people probably won't be studying your boots for that long! Can't wait for that WW2 boot series my man! Here's to filming more vids together in 2022
Sounds like a bunch of females studying men's shoes.
No wonder NY has fallen.
Full of estrogen.

Timberland is over price. Back in 2003 I would pay 60 bucks for Timberland At there outlet. They sold the company and changed the boots style. I stop buying them .
The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.
Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.
But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.
This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.
- Terry Pratchett, Men at Arms
I wish I could upvote more than once for Sir Terry!
This is big boot propaganda
I've worn both cheap $50 boots and expensive $300 boots
The $50 boots last me a year and a half
The $300 boots fell apart in the first 6 months and had to be glued back together
Price does not guarantee quality
I always buy the good quality products, value for the money, thanks to weston i always go for natural materials now adays
Always hated this passage, if you could become jeff bezos just by saving money on expensive boots then everyone in /r/gyw would be a billionaire. Also, if you are into good quality shoes you clearly aren’t going to buy just one and in the end you’ll probably outspend the guy who always wears sneakers and buy a cheap one on deep discount every year. Not to mention boot maintenance products like conditioner or polish and shoe trees and the occasional resole. idk why I bothered to reply to a low effort meme but I’ve already typed this much might as well hit send
@@ChaosBW could you tell us which brands are these shoes from? could be a great help.
So they guy who said lugz are well constructed didn’t have a clue what they were talking about
Lugz are a terrible fashion boot. I think they're all made of pleather.
Some people don't do anything. So basically any shoe will hold up. I have a pair of Vasque hiking shoes that got 4.5 stars on Amazon with 2,500 reviews. They are junk..... I shredded those things to bits in no time. People were saying they hold up for years, idk how. The only way that is possible is if you do nothing. If the longest walk you do is out to the car on your way to McDonalds drive thru, Lugz could last years.
backfired guerilla marketing?
Lugz are great boots! I have had many pair that have lasted for years ove hard outdoor work conditions.
I dont know where he got these Lugz boots but they are definitely knockoff Lugz. He needs to judge apples to apples. The Drifter will hold its own againts any Timberland boot.
@@doctorwarpspeed8779 - exactly. Most people who say they have boots for years only wear them two times a month if that.
This might be my inner child speaking, but that saw noise was the best thing I’ve heard in a long time
You should watch The Wind Rises, then.
As someone who loves history I can't wait to see the wwii boot series!
yessssss same!!
Same!
I am excited for this one 🤩
Nintendo Wii boots?
Almost spat my drink out at the saw section lmao
I remember back in the 70's / 80's when Timberlands were actually work boots and not a silly fashion statement. The biggest competitors were Dunham's and Herman Survivors, both very similar to Timberlands. You got whichever one was on sale at the time! No one cared!
I get Timberlands in the shop frequently that are falling apart. They are definitely not really work boots any more. Interestingly, the Pro series Timberlands are crappier than the regular ones.
No need to be a boot gatekeeper. People can wear their boots for whatever use they want. Not everyone is wearing boots to jobsites every day and that's ok. Timberland sucks now because they're owned by a multinational corporation thats constantly cutting costs.
I got a pair of pros with a metatarsal guard, the stitching started falling apart day one. The materials are almost new, yet they are unwearable.
I witnessed the genesis of Timberland's becoming Timb's when I was a kid in the Bronx. On the weekends I used to go to rural Pennsylvania and upstate New York. Guys of all ages wore Timberland boots as casual wear instead of sneakers. A few years later they were being worn in New York City along with the Adidas Superstar sneaker.
Yeah brought a pair of timberland basic they hurt my feet. Felt like I was stepping on a piece of hard wood.
YOU HAD ME DYING LAUGHING CUTTING THOSE BOOTS LOL
Looks like the kingshows took some moves out of the CLOMPS playbook...
Kingshow is the boot division of Clomps
Did that bandsaw just take a deep breath? Lmao
Right 👍
The sound effects of the bandsaw had me laughing so hard my wife was wondering what was going on when she was inside the camper
Excellent! You save a lot of us cheapskates from falling into the traps. I hope you could also test the eyelets, which are common problems with cheap knockoffs. These would often pop out and cause cuts to the wearer.
I bought my first Timberlands in 1995, made in USA, all leather. Had them resoled about 5 years ago. Wear them every winter and they still look amazing.
I never imagined I'd hear a band saw laugh, but here we are hahahaha
My man you need to accidentally lose audio more often ! That saw scene was epic because of the sound fx added in editing. You're nearing the level of Michael Winslow (Police Academy).
I love the bandsaw foley presented with no context
The bann saw noises r hilarious.😂😂
Working for Weston is such a blast that even his equipment can’t help but laugh in joy
Man the new mic you've you've on the saw sounds sick
Pretty cool dubbing of saw
So glad you’re back! I was definitely missing your content.
Super impressed with your breakdowns, would love to see Top 3 or 5 snowboard boots in Fall, keep up the good work!
I search for those kingshow and found a pair for $32 also found a bunch of other reviews and people seem to have issues with the soles falling apart or just falling off. Which actually makes what you said correct. :) Keep up the good work
Cut in half the new jordan 1 “CMFRTS”, they allegedly have air units and is built better
Dude, cant wait to see the build. This channel keeps getting better and better.
I have the Lugz. I got them for $20 on some discount site probably 5 years ago. I wear them when I shovel/snow blow my driveway in the winter. They don't leak and the soles haven't fallen off.
I thought so too
Sound fx was next level...keep up the good work. Tyvm
It would be very interesting to compare the cut centered scores of all times. And see if there is a relation between the score and the quality of the the boot/leather.. 🙂
the jump cut on lets try it from the back is so good lmao
The plywood heel in the kingshow is true royalty baby. The way that plywood just cracks and splinters to the shape of your foot is amazing!
I bought the Timberland Port Unions and actually had to make up my own lacing. The standard lacing dug into the lateral edge of my ankle on both (behind the lateral maleolus) it almost crippled me. I noticed others complaining about the same thing and brought there's back. Mine work fine with alternative lacing.
That bandsaw part! 😂 he probably lost the audio but he definitely should do this every time now on
Who needs a house in Austin when you can have a tent at an underpass of your choice?
Jeff... LOL... In the UK we put em up in four star hotels !!!
Traditional architecture inspired by the historic underpass tents of Los Angeles
Sir, you need to check your saw, it buzzes kind of weirdly :))
The cutting was absolutely hilarious, I was laughing so hard
Lugz must’ve gone downhill over the years. I had a pair in Jr high school and they were decent quality. They weren’t a timberland rip off, they had their own style along with Karl Kani.
I love the Drifter and i have worn in hard working conditions for years at a time. I started wearing then in early 2000s and they have never done wrong by me.
This dude knows nothing about the culture. I knee that as soon as he said an established and respected company like Lugz was a timberland knock-off🙄
I had Lugz in high school. They had their own style. Most people had Lugz had Timberland.
Lugz are now made in china. Fifteen years ago it was not made in China.
@@TheCwright1976 lol who gives a shit about the culture. this is about what boot is objectively better. the culture doesnt care about that, all they care about is 'which boot is seen as most cool'. the answer? none.
Very nice and quality soundeffects in this one 👍
Please do them more often (seriously)
Had a pair of lugs one time. They were the jet black low cut ones. Decided I was gonna hike in them because I couldn’t find my boots, they survived but my feet sure as hell didn’t, was definitely a mistake
LOL at the zoomed in 😏 for “let’s try it from the back”
Would love to see a comparison of Chippewa, Redwing, Carolina logger boots.
Buying something like that is literally like getting ripped off.
Love the saw sounds. Very Frank Howarthesque 👍
Just such a nice genuine guy
Actually a pleasure to listen to and watch
Thx bro
Dude. When you did the buzzing. I literally died. Hahahahahahah
For a bit extra you could get a pair of our Razorbacks, the mark up on this quality boot is crazy
I had two pair of Lugz 10 to 12 years ago. They weren’t like these knock off ones. Well made boots and lasted me a long time. 👍
I remember them being good boots. This is going back 20 years ago.
Was going to say the same thing bought a pair in 2002 and 2004 solid boots back then.
The recent ones are pretty crappy though. I had a couple pairs back in the late '90s and they were pretty good. I remember some rapstars promoted Lugz.
@@ytsux9259 Birdman
Had a pair that was my daily throughout junior and high school till I outgrew them. They were quality nubuck leather and well built. Too bad they're now cheap China knockoffs.
I love the sound effects of the saw mate. 10/10 🤪
Finally, a nice UA-camr, what a nice wholesome channel! Love the channel!
A piece of wood in Kingshow shoes is so hilarious. Good video
I'm kind of honored I didn't think anything more would come from that comment and it's so awesome that it did. Also glad that I didn't buy those lugs I thought for $30 they be okay winter beaters but no way they'd survive.
It's the saw sound effects for me! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just curious if you ever done a set of wolverines, I've owned a pair and am curious on how good they were lol. Friends loved the comfort but now after watching your vids the redwings are calling my name lol, great video
I love the practical bandsaw sound effects, had me giggling like an idiot.
I love love love the bandsaw. So good.
Lmfao, love this video, the buzzing sounds are the best
You got me with the bandsaw noise. 🤣
Thy is the bandsaw segment so much fun 😂😂😂
Funniest part of the whole video; when ripping the Kingshow Upper from its sole you said "Oh no, the Kingshow.....letting me down again"
Hahahahahahaha
Have you ever checked out the brunt marlin boots? I'm interested in them but value your opinion and knowledge in this subject.
Also what are some of your favorite taller (9 inch or taller) slip on waterproof boots? Thanks
Hahahahaha the bandsaw cracked me up so hard!!!!!!!
You should do Project Farm-style durability & quality tests for a variety of footwear. For example, subject the outsole to a belt sander for a durability comparison.
So this is literally the "when you order ... on wish"-meme ...
I got a blue pair of Lugz just for hiking, but it is sturdy, warm not stuffy, support to arches, good with jeans, i wear it all the time now. The blue collar started to peel, I just pulled them all off, they have white collars now, still comfortable.
You should do cut-in-halfs with formal dress shoes. There are a lot of famous brands out there but we don't know what's in their guts.
I’ve on occasion had to buy cheap boots from target (had trouble affording a certain type of boots to wear to street fairs) for some weird reason they lasted over 10 years (rarely got wet) and were super comfortable walking/standing on the streets for long hours (4-9). Long ago Ross would sell some pretty good boots. I think many were styles that the company was doing some sort of PR on (before everything was computerized). I managed to get some really cool, odd fryes made of really great leather. They survived being resoled! The only Timberland shoes I have are slip on high tops (for some reason high tops can be hard to find in women’s sizes). They are way more supportive and comfortable than my fancy converse (both have similar insoles)…. For boots I save my money and drop $$$$.
Thanks for the great videos. Am I missing something? Do you sell boots?
Aye man love your channel, keep doing you brother.
ahahahah that bandsaw noise with the breaks in between hahaha
Love it! Please continue doing military boots. Thanks!
Need more of those fancy schmancy sound effects 😆😆😆
What is up with the saw? It sounds wonderful this week. 😂😂😂
Great sound effects. Very authentic
How cool that Hans Zimmer 10:40 helped you with the sound!
I laughed so hard at the band saw 🤣
I also had a pair of steel toed Irish Setters I bought in 2000. They fit perfectly off the rack. I used to ride in them. After about 12 years I went looking for a new pair and no one had them anymore. I took them with me to a Redwing store and the guy said to me, These are a WWI boot cut. They don't make them like this anymore. I took them to a cobbler and for $100 he re-soled them with a vibram sole. I still got them.
The sound effects had me cracking up 😆
I appreciate the sound effects.
Oh man that bandsaw killed me
Had me dying. Great vid and good luck to all
Maybe you could build a machine to test the cement/crease-ability? The machine could fold the boots over and over to see how they fare? Love the content, keep it up!
Had two pairs of Lugz back around 2015. Both had the soles crack in half within a few months of everyday wear. Lugz replaced the first pair and didn’t bother to respond to my second pair failing.
When I was in highschool I had a pair of sketchers that I later learned were Timberland knock offs. They lasted me till graduation and I don't think I actually wore them out. I don't remember what happened to them but they lasted longer than any other pair of shoes I wore growing up. I wasn't big on all the shoe brands back then so to me they were just a pair of comfy boots.
Gotta say Weston, i agree with the fake leather statement. It should a law to state whether a shoe is fake or bonded leather compared to full grain actual leather. Companies try to pull this nonsense of constantly and it really burns me up! Back in the day you could tell. But new methods and materials trick consumers now into thinking they are buying a quality item. Happens in way too many products!! Great content as always. And great to hear your boot collaboration was a succes! Cant wait to get mine in a few months!!
Let's all show respect to the blade that has given us viewers hours of enjoyment and knowledge
i have a pair of knock offs from mckinley. ive had them for a couple years, my brother before me and, so far, they've been holding up really well
never got wet or cold feet
Hey man! Love your videos. Can you check out the leather quality of some Nike Manoa boots, thanks!
I have some Lugz Moc Toe shoes with the buckle I bought them when they were in style they're still in the box only wore them like about 5 times.
Love your bandsaw sound effects, especially the laugh , guess uou forgot the microphone
10:22 wow that buzz saw is sounding good this video
You need to cut in half Rockroosters underwood boots that look like Tim's. I love the pair I have and would love to see how well they are made!
I'm online looking at some black iron ranger...
They look like my old military boots from the 80s. Love em
@rose anvil id like to see some of the customs from singapore pulled apart.
How would i take the premium leather band on the back of the premium timberland boots, remove it and attach it to a pair of timberland pros? I feel the only things letting the pro boot down is no pull loop on the heel and the faux/pleather ankle
