How the CIA Ran a Secret Toy Operation in South Asia
Guangdong, China, 2005. It was late at night. A factory manager made his way past the assembly line to the adjoining warehouse where a meeting was set to take place - a group of men had already gathered. He didn’t know exactly who these men were, but from his contact he knew they were important people. Not wasting any time he presented to them what they asked for - a toy that he and his colleagues had passionately been working on the past few months.
Upon inspection, the men seemed pleased with the product, but in order to move to the next phase of operation, final approval was needed from Langley. You see, these men were from the CIA, and this operation, if successful, could help put an end to one of the greatest conflicts in modern time. But how? What was this toy? And who were they targeting?
This happened in 2005, but what lead to this moment, actually started four years earlier...
I love these half-animated stories and cinematic beginnings. These videos are insanely fascinating to watch.

Afaik, we only bomb specific places while trying to reduce the amount civilian casualties (and the gov't usually lies about that death toll), but everyone else is bombing everyone they don't like. These are awesome. The occasional semi-animated illustrations (instead of just relying on stock images like 99% of these kinds of shows) are great, and telling only one deep, well-researched story instead of a quick 2-minute each "Top 10!" quite sets you apart from the crowd. You should honestly have far more exposure than you do, but just keep doing what you're doing and I'm sure it'll reach that level in time. Also, that ad segue was slick af.

Oh heck nah, it’s 1 am right now and I’m watching creepy and disturbing videos on my phone in my room in total darkness, when I just heard some tapping coming from near my air vent and window. I turned on my flashlight, confirmed that I was indeed hearing things near there but couldn’t pinpoint the cause immediately. It was a plastic wrapper hitting a part of my desk by my fan.
