    Useful video. I've got oil in a couple of my pots. Cleaned them out but misfiring came back! I'm no mechanic but that doesn't look too hard a job to do, with the right kit

    Good Video, A new gasket from Supercheap Auto is about $66 Aussie or a new Cover and gasket plus bolts and PCV from Ebay about $58 Aussie, the covers warp with heat and time and become brittle I would think, removing the oil from the plug holes avoiding getting any oil into the cylinders would be a good tip to include.

    Hi, very useful video. I attempted this just this morning on an 8 year old 1.6 Mokka which was a pain in the arse! It seemed to take forever to get the wiring loom and fuel lines out of the way then once the rocker cover was unbolted it wasn't going anywhere! I ran out of time and put everything back together and am going to attempt it another time. Is it worth running the engine up to temperature to see if that frees the cover or will it take a couple of love taps from a rubber mallet to free it?

    Great videos, would you recommend using a sealant for the gasket cover for extra stability?

    • @carmandosgarage
      @carmandosgarage  7 місяців тому

      The gasket should be ok on its own but you use a bit of durko if needed

    I have a really rotten looking spark plug from where the oil has been sat there for ages, it looks almost rotten away or almost like it's rusted due to it being submerged for so long in the oil. Did you have a similar experience and how did you remove the spark plugs that are drowned in oil? It's only 1 of my spark plugs affected but I can't get it out due to the fact there is so much oil in there and my spark plug socket Slides right off it. Thank you for your video
