The footage at 0:22 is the type of material that made inspired me to get a surf ski 3 days ago! I want the sea raging at me! 🤩 It’s a V7, but tried a carbon Fenn and fell out 10 times! Couldn’t last more than 3 meters! 😆 I don’t know how you do it, but I’ll see how the progression goes. After a lagoon paddle, I fell off the V7 multiple times at sea and quickly jumped back in, being a little concerned about the shark breeding ground off Malabar, Sydney. 😀
Stoked that you are giving it a go! Awesome and well done. As a coach I would encourage you to find your local coach and do a few sessions with them. You will learn more in those few lessons than 6 months on your own plus you are less likely to develop poor technique or bad habits. They will also give you the safety advice that many beginner paddlers fail to learn and subsequently many find themselves in trouble. Go for it!
any crucial safety tip i would have missed being 3 months in and having bought a gibbons grx SLSS ski and going out for practice in and out of mild swell i have only had issues with wind and being side on to waves but i get better with practise and realise you have to kick the rudder but yeah not sure i just like talking about surfskis with other people so far hahah
