I'm 60 now and I have used and enjoyed asurf ski almost identical to your one in 1974.
Obviously your craft has evolved beautifully with thin stern and tuna fin rudder. Respect..!!
In cape town where I used to cross 10 ft breakers during the time I was a life saver
The purest form of paddling.
So so heart-warming to see it continuing
Thank you for your comment..am 42 I may just try this soon if I can just overcome some fear am holding onto
Oh, great story! Just listened to Oscar Chalupsky's biography as an audiobook, "No Retreat, No Surrender!". He talks extensively about nippers (young surf lifesavers), the original triathlon competitions, the fantastic conditions you have in South Africa with wind and waves. Will start surfski paddling this year at the age of 53. And plan to the Millers Run in a couple of years, probably attending Dawid Mocke's paddle clinic. Wish I'd live in place as perfect for surfskis as Cape Town, live in Copenhagen. No real surf and big waves here, but lots of water.
After watching this video I picked up a beginner ski to work on. Someday I will have the capability to move up to a Vega. Looking forward to that day.
I just watch this video over and over again! I love it! Greetings from Sweden.
LOVE this video. I lovely Ares OC1 and I am now getting into Surfski. I am so looking forward to paddling the Vega.
That’s just beautiful !!!
What an elegant and fast glide surfskis have.
Great job with this video. I am stoked on my Vega!! It surfs so good and I am pleasantly surprised how fast it is in the flats.
Great study of paddling form and ski design/performance!
The shots from the rear most telling of continued steering, adjusting line,. Great vid
nice video, scenery, that Vega slices thru the water really good, love those waves
Amazing !!
smooth paddling
beautiful
Very good video!
NICE VIDEO!
Wow, I just watched this video again for the seventh time! I would love to paddle in Hawaii. I have had my Vega for 11 months and every paddle it just gets better (maybe because I/m slowly improving, LOL). The Vega is great in the ocean bumps and in the flats. If you are in the market for a new boat you need to try the Vega. #kaiwaastrong
When do we plan a "magical" trip using this beauty? I'm in!
Ski's look great! Love to paddle one soon.
Wow...
So damn good. But my skies are little grayer, my seas a bit flatter... my ski a little bit heavier. Must. Paddle. Hawaii.
Wow beautiful video paddle myself nothing this caliber how much are they
What I find remarkable is that (unless it was redacted) there is not a single incident of nose-diving to be seen.
2:28 in, but you are right it's not pearling at all.
I think it has to do with the lighter construction. Their monologue design allows it's nose to stay light up front and prevent it from staying down in the front of the bump for too long.
My Ares rarely buries the nose. I have a friend who has the Vega and he says it is rare for him to stuff the nose. I think Kai's design has a lot to do with it.
hull looks like the Antares without its ama
Whats the learning curve from oc1 to surf ski? Or how long of a curve?
凄いね〜。僕には、怖くてできない”海”
It looks like it wants to nose dive when catching a wave
That's fine. It's just like the super yachts of the billionaire set.
Designed to cut through
Cheee!!!
Nobody seen that large shark fin broach around 1:45 mark. I just cancelled more ordering the Vega - sorry
You are right - it did look like that, when looking closely. Nicely noted:) Another question is if it was actually broaching or just some trick they intended for a better footage ended up looking like this:)
I think thats his paddle?
@@fyneyoungstunna most certainly not!
Fred van Viegen yeah, after seeing it on dry land, its the rear fin....
Only sarcasm, sharks aren’t a joke.
I love the water & wanted to try learning to sail a Hobbie Cat recreational boat but only this is learning out in deep saltwater areas off the beach. Not the actual sailing part, just if & when capsizing and being in water is my fear I got to just get over it somehow. Person that sold me used Hobbie Cat said he’s been sailing those waters over past 40 years.
In my mind I’m like it only takes one encounter to ruin a perfect sailing day. Lol
How much weed do uou smoke everyday?
