Bonus comment guide: Buying corpses is the worst part. Some tips: - You can actually self farm most of your corpses, spec the nodes on the tree and shrines and run as much packsize and you'll get 2/3rds of most crafts in a few hours. - Live search corpses you need to avoid the non responsive spam, just set price min and max to fine tune the pings. - OR scroll past the "discount" corpses, they are sold or non-responding as VERY LARGE amounts of corpses are being bought and sold each minute. Save the headache. - Sell your unneeded corpses to cover crafting costs very easily. - Run 2 or so crafts at once using different corpses (1 weapon 1 armor).
In my experience, the mod tier corpses are rare enough that they're always your bottleneck, so you can kinda go for full graveyard every time just by filling with the other corpses Also, the corpse sequence button helps figure out how to trim down the craft a ton, from what I've calc'd it seems you get the best result per corpse at around 40 corpses for most builds. But since mod tier corpses are the bottleneck full graveyard is the way (granted, I've been mostly looking at maxed out items)
@blackomega34 I'm not talking about actually running the rituals, I'm only talking about the packs that naturally spawn in place of the ritual. You just kill those and move on not actually run the ritual Because the packs ritual spawns in are the same mob types as the map meaning they should all have a chance to be affected also. I know the ones in the actual ritual once activated won't provide corpses
Before trimming down from 88/88, I find the "View sequence" button on craftofexile to be super useful for seeing at which point in the craft the calculator starts stacking less impactful modifiers

“Mayby you need a couple corpses and decide to buy them” This right here is why it sucks even as a passive background thing. I’ve seen some streamers with 2000+ corpses and they still have to spend an hour (or several hours if they’re unlucky) buying corpses so they can finish their craft. Unless you decide to sell all your corpses (and thus not interact with the mechanic at all) you’re going to have to deal with the tedium of buying dozens of individual corpses worth a few chaos each. Thanks for making this video, and I know GGG is doing the best they can to work with what they have in Poe, but look how much of this video takes place outside of the game on another website. It looks like Poe2 is making design decisions that take away reasons a player would want to open a browser tab, and that's a good thing.
it's a good crafting league, they did it pretty well this time around. harvest league was such a failure, no one wanted to figure out and set up hydroponics for 2 hours and set seeds every map
Would you consider sharing explicit recipes for common items? Like for a phys attrack crit sword, you need these to hit ~90% of the time, and for crit ele bow you need these corpses etc? That would be helpful
GGG: We want to attract new players in Poe meanwhile, new players need a doctor's dissertation to understand the fukin crafting let alone other shit in the game
What we really need is a program and I don't know if craft POE can do this or not. But we need to be able to select the items, select all the things we want on it and then hit generate recipe. And it shows us exactly what we need for the graveyard kind of like a reverse engineering
Tried making my own recipe and the website wont let me select modifiers because apparently graveyard isn't a viable crafting method, I dont know why it isn't working for me
weird. i can see that there are necropolis corpses for even influence types, so i'd assume the calculator would factor that in, maybe not for double influence (since as far as i know that's an Awakener orb only craft). off the top of my head idk what would brick the graveyard option.
Nice video...tried to follow it lol. As a new POE player its frustrating when a game pretty much requires you to use 3rd party sites and resources to be able to play and understand the game. It detours so many people!
As a casual SSF player, I'm sad to hear your last statement "I doubt it will be going core". This sounds like a crafting system that would allow players like me to actually get into red maps and beyond, which is where I typically hit the wall with my builds. I still have Last Epoch, which is friendlier to my playstyle, but I really enjoy the aesthetics of PoE, so it's a shame. Would it be possible for them to add this system to core SSF league after the season without adding it to core trade league? That would be the dream anyway.
Should you wait to do crafting until you beat the main storyline? Im new to poe. I dont reckon crafting a lvl 45 helmet is gonna be a good use of resources at lvl 75, or am i off on that?
I didn't bother looking at any third party website's calculations and was still able to make boots with ALL T1 move speed, life, armor, chaos res and double regen in SSF for my RF Chieftan. I only used half of my graveyard too. If I farmed the reroll values corpse, it would be perfectly divined. Since trade league is obsessed with item value and currency per hour, I can see how the crafting will put people off, but in SSF it's so nice being able to slowly build up a perfect item over time as you progress your atlas, level your character, farm for uniques etc. Since different gear types and especially atlas/influence bases are still hard to get, even if the possibility for a perfect item is there, there's still a ton of time investment to get to perfection. I'm loving this crafting system. Side note for people who enjoy game design that keeps people within the game and not going to third party sites: you can learn mod tags in game by just looking at items you pick up while holding Alt. As long as you aren't obsessing about your speed, a new player can still slowly learn how to make use of this system by just playing.
The crafting itself is fairly intuitive. The graveyard itself needs to be zoomed out more. There also needs to be an ability to see what crafts have been buried. What I am finding problematic is finding the actual corpses. Im only in early yellow maps and Im only finding crafts which increase quality and additional affixes. I have heaps of these but the ones that modify element types, defences and so forth I have rarely seen. I have 1 armour corpse so far and 2 increased chance of fire. I have 1 day 7hrs on this character. I only collected enough corpses during the campaign to craft 1 ring and it was shit.
I must admit I'm usually into crafting. I find the amount of corpses and time needed absurdly high. I think poe has always been in between "lucky" shots craft, and precise expensive methodic metacrafting. Here I feel like we have the worst of both worlds. ( Compared to harvest for instance where we had both )
Idk .. all the crafts my items need i cant get with this mechanic. DoT multi rings , only from essence. Chaos res reduce aoe helmet.. hunter mod. Bow with chaos dmg.. hunter mod. Quiver with chaos multi.. hunter mod. Bow.. fossil craft... Who uses vanilla 6 mod items in 2024 apart from like ele bows / some wands
Its still one of the convoluted ways to craft. Not only do you to manually put in 88 corpses, you have to buy them. You also have to use 2 apps to get the best result. Why are there 88 slots, but only space for 64 corpses. Yes, you can craft some powerful gear. But the time sink and annoyance isnt worth it. I will wait to buy items on the market and let others waste currency with a crap shoot. If you dont get maxed gear, you will be breaking even on a mid tier item, like a 1400 dps bow lol. Its like harvest and synth had an ugly baby that no one wants to adopt.
I don't know man, it's either farming 80+ corpses (a lot of them very rare and you need multiples of them like gem mods) or doing over 50 trades (which is pure hell and I rather not do). I still haven't been able to try a single craft and it's not looking like I'll be able to anytime soon.
I don't see the issue in farming your own corpses. They drop sporadically as long as you're mapping and it took me an afternoon to put together 60+ corpses for a really good craft. What you put in versus what you get out is heavily skewed in favor of the participant, and crafting god tier items has never been more accessible to the average player than it is now.
@@sakrai On the contrary, you have yet to try it but seem convinced that it isn't as easy as it looks. Normally I'd cite expert bias, but I'm neither a crafter nor a great player. It is much easier than it seems and the only 3rd party website I had to consult was the mod table in poedb. I didn't even bother with the calculator or the optimal setup Ziggy alludes to in his video.
@ZiggyDGaming one thing im still confused and wondering about is , what do the unique corpses do? ive gotten like 20 of them now and im afraid of using them with no result because i don't know what they do or affect. was hoping to see a small section in the video about them.
You put 4 of those with different names together, hit craft, get a unique. There's one of them, a jewel, that is affected by all the corpses around it, not sure about the other ones. Imo, the uniques are not that great, and it's mostly useful in SSF, in a trade league it's easier to buy them.
Great vid! makes me laugh how this explination is meant to be "less complicated" to new players/new crafters but still involves having to spend 2 hrs on extrenal websites to figure it out :D.
One Question, when I go with 900 Tier Rating so only T1 Affixes are possible, what if the item level is not high enough for the T1 Affix or will it get T2 ones instead?
use coffins with + 1 to item level as you scroll back on the diminishing returns for 88 graves. should tell you the item level before you accept the craft. just add as you need to match the highest item level of the attribute you picked. also they're pretty cheap so you could save some currency grabing even ilvl 80 coffins on the more expensive side
So here's the thing. The 50/50 isn't actually quite 50/50. Because it's 50/50 for each mod (where multiple mods meet the same tag). Things like life on hit on suffix on a quiver feels bad man 😢
Appreciate the help but any crafting system that requires a phd and a website to be able to calculate it is not a good crafting system in a video game. A majority of the player base can't access this type of content in a game they want to play to enjoy. Going to a website to plug in modifiers and burying 60 corpses to get a chance at an ok item isn't a good system. This is not appreciating people's time at all.
With how weak it was on release I do think the system was intended to go core, as along term crafting project. But yes, with how it is right now, there is no chance.
Really great video, I just dont know if I understand iLvl requirements for crafting. Does it means, I cant craft "+2 socketed bow gems" short bow (for EA, bow is ilvl 50), as Craft of Exile shows ilvl 64 minimum for +2? So I will get always only +1, which is ilvl 9?
Yes, if the final iLvl of the item is below what is required for the mod tier, it just won't roll. Good thing is, there are corpses that increase item level. For example, I use corpses of iLvl 70+ just to make buying easier, and add a few of those item level corpses to make sure that I can hit all those T1 mods, since they often require iLvl 83 or even higher.
Honestly, the crafting system itself seems good, but I sure as hell can't be arsed to buy 30+ corpses every time I want to take a crack at crafting. That sounds miserable.
Did you put just the one corpse in? If so, they INCREMENTALLY add one link, up to a maximum. So you would have needed 4 corpses that add links. Apologies if you already considered/knew that, but that's the only thing off the top of my head that would cause that behaviour.
@@ZiggyDGaming well I was on console and had shortly before recieved the call that my laptop was ready for pickup tomorrow, and I had to get to sleep so I wasn't too concerned with doing it right away. Is there a spot on the site I should use to do it now?
Most people don't know where to start in doing it manually and that'd be a lot more complicated - the goal here is to make it accessible as possible. And my only issue with the compute option is that it goes way overboard which youc na just scale back.
does this mean i will not get one shot anymore and lose all my fucking xp will it drop divines cos iv'e only had fucking one drop after doing 101 maps out 115 and killing over 350000 monsters
If necropolis craft can become our new end fame meta craft I might be ok. Like add all influence type mods into necropolis. Via corpses with modifiers. Running hunter maps will get you hunter influences corpses would be amazing low key.
Idk about "simplest". Any crafting system that takes multiple hours to complete, plus learning, plus buying corpses, plus then burying them correctly.... doesn't seem "simple" at all.
Want to waste 4-6 hours of your life? Get the most ideal craft set up, spend a ton of currency, then brick your items. The only way you make money is if you hit 6 tier 1's across the board.
It's bad and I can't avoid corpses overlapping on my loot also all flames still bug my essence drops by not dropping them. If it wasn't for the core game changes this would be as bad as kalandra league
Different people need different levels of extra info, that's why I put in the extra effort to make chapters so you can skip ahead to exactly what you need.
Before patch me like ... ok i'm out. After patch hmm let me see what i have stored. Ok let me try from these corpses i got still in white maps vtw. 2900 evasion 6 link 112 total resist no life roll on purpose body armor. ..... Ok I'm back lol
Graveyard crafting would be like playing roulette. You can drastically increase your chance to win at it by placing as many chips as you can on the table. Sure it ain't fun to collect all the chips and placing them all on each slot of the table, but if you just want to win it still beat rolling the slots by a mile.

I missed how you stack more mods to one item. Everytime I bury an item it just does the 1 thing
GOATed video, thank you so so much.
Love this, I hope this goes core for sure 🎉🎉
What about all the "Haunted by" corpses?
Thank you for this guide .. but in my opinion if you need external tools to craft, or anything else, there is an issue.
They should just make the undertaker bury the corpses and players should just add corpses in a table.
so as long as the graves all touch, it will work? or does it use the entire graveyard each craft?
Only if the graves are linked by touching yeah
Is it worth saving corpses before you get into maps?
This is fantastic. I wish I could like it more than once. :)
As long as you aren't obsessing about your speed, a new player can still slowly learn how to make use of this system by just playing.
clean and quite simple, nice, thx :)
As a small priv league player - i wish it only took a few hours to make a deterministic craft.
thank you for this guide
Use it to craft your fractures and then essence. I may show later but right now I'm trying to make a double fracture helm for an essence craft
@@ZiggyDGaming Can u fracture mods with corpes in the graveyard? please tell us how
@@mhelsen6764 There are corpses that give 25% chance to fracture a mod, you can stack them over 100% to fracture multiple mods
Does the craft use all corpses in morgue, or only those connected together through adjacency?
Connected
@@abhidey646 farming them is not an issue, grinding is the whole game. It's just not as easy as people are saying
Can I limit the number of corpses used? Would like it to find best way to make item in 10 or 20 corpses
Leave it to Path of Exile to launch the easiest gear crafting which takes a 25 minute video to be explained.
I wouldn't love this game if it only took a 5 min video to explain!
Original POE music, so cool
Does anyone know which options are available for choosing experimental weapon bases? Oscillating sceptre for example.
One Question, when I go with 900 Tier Rating so only T1 Affixes are possible, what if the item level is not high enough for the T1 Affix or will it get T2 ones instead?
Will be t2
use coffins with + 1 to item level as you scroll back on the diminishing returns for 88 graves. should tell you the item level before you accept the craft. just add as you need to match the highest item level of the attribute you picked. also they're pretty cheap so you could save some currency grabing even ilvl 80 coffins on the more expensive side
So here's the thing. The 50/50 isn't actually quite 50/50. Because it's 50/50 for each mod (where multiple mods meet the same tag). Things like life on hit on suffix on a quiver feels bad man 😢
this needs to go core ....crafting is soo much fun with this
Appreciate the help but any crafting system that requires a phd and a website to be able to calculate it is not a good crafting system in a video game. A majority of the player base can't access this type of content in a game they want to play to enjoy. Going to a website to plug in modifiers and burying 60 corpses to get a chance at an ok item isn't a good system. This is not appreciating people's time at all.
Tinker with it means play craft of exile instead of path of exile 👌
That sounds miserable.
what are the haunted corpses
is it possible to craft influenced gear?
What is the limit on graveyard? Im following a build that suggest many items with warlord affixes. Can they be added with graveyard?
No influenced mods pretty sure. Can get special atlas bases like iolite rings through a special corpse tho
Idk what happened but I made a chest earlier that was supposed to be min 5 links. I got 3 sockets with only a 2-link
Did you put just the one corpse in? If so, they INCREMENTALLY add one link, up to a maximum. So you would have needed 4 corpses that add links.
Apologies if you already considered/knew that, but that's the only thing off the top of my head that would cause that behaviour.
@@nextgen3ric no I had 2 max 4s and 3 max 5s, even the crafting window said minimum 5 links, but only spat out a 3 socket 2 link
/bug report that one!
@@ZiggyDGaming well I was on console and had shortly before recieved the call that my laptop was ready for pickup tomorrow, and I had to get to sleep so I wasn't too concerned with doing it right away. Is there a spot on the site I should use to do it now?
You should NOT use "compute best selection" because it often makes a far worse craft than doing it manually
Most people don't know where to start in doing it manually and that'd be a lot more complicated - the goal here is to make it accessible as possible. And my only issue with the compute option is that it goes way overboard which youc na just scale back.
does this mean i will not get one shot anymore
and lose all my fucking xp
will it drop divines cos iv'e only had fucking one drop after doing 101 maps out 115
and killing over 350000 monsters
reads tittle, *Doubts*
30 corpses to get a 3 T2 mods weapon in 5 tries and 4 T2/T1 in 15 tries. That's too bothersome really. I can't.
If necropolis craft can become our new end fame meta craft I might be ok. Like add all influence type mods into necropolis. Via corpses with modifiers. Running hunter maps will get you hunter influences corpses would be amazing low key.
Necro wont be sticking around
Does the pattern matter at all for this?
Idk about "simplest". Any crafting system that takes multiple hours to complete, plus learning, plus buying corpses, plus then burying them correctly.... doesn't seem "simple" at all.
Do you think its too late to start the league?
Want to waste 4-6 hours of your life? Get the most ideal craft set up, spend a ton of currency, then brick your items. The only way you make money is if you hit 6 tier 1's across the board.
It's bad and I can't avoid corpses overlapping on my loot also all flames still bug my essence drops by not dropping them. If it wasn't for the core game changes this would be as bad as kalandra league
Man they just added another thing to spend time on a browser... this game you spend more time on browser than the game itself...
No influence, no jewels, no cluster jewels 😢
I gatta know man, why are you using what looks to be a hallowed life flask? I have to assume you are over level 65
The grave thing is the most convoluted way i ever saw crafting in a video game, the UI/UX is attrocious and its painful to interact with the mechanic.
the dude takes 8 min to actually get to what you are looking for
Different people need different levels of extra info, that's why I put in the extra effort to make chapters so you can skip ahead to exactly what you need.
Sure it ain't fun to collect all the chips and placing them all on each slot of the table, but if you just want to win it still beat rolling the slots by a mile.
just seems like….. too much….. yeahhhhh not sure i’m into it but thanks for video
its impossible to understand, I thought I got it then I went to the damn website tool.
I dont get what the Gem modifire is doing
Gem is a tag just like elemental , since gems have small weights like 50 by adding 1000 to it it can make it extremely more common
Gem modifier = any affix relating to gem levels. Usually a prefix. Most valuable on caster weapons/shields. Also valuable for minion helms.
Thank you... I should have guessed that.... But now i know.... 👍
