    Very neat video. You fit so much info in just 5 minutes without rushing it. Other EDC people take 20+ to talk about bitkits or loooook another blade. This also fits EDU.
    I am so happy I clicked on this one. Thank you :)

    Thank you for showing your bag wrapping method!! I wrap mine into triangles and store a whole bunch near the door so I can remember to grab one as I’m leaving.

      They are just so useful. :) In Austria, we don‘t get free plastic bags anymore, so anytime I travel anywhere I get them, I get very excited and try to reuse them as much as I can for trash bags or to transport shoes in my luggage and stuff. So handy. 😅 It‘s also a good idea to store them next to the door! 👍

      @@MaggiFuchs mostly in Oz the only free plastic bags we have are for fruit & veg; and I feel like ppl frown at me for using these (vs just putting these items in a basket or string bag etc) but these are the perfect size for my bin at home, so I don't have to buy bags for this.
      You're so right, it's always handy to have a plastic bag on you - I always carry a spare, not only for rubbish but maybe for any clothing that gets wet (or icky) that I might have to bundle up quickly and stow until I get home

    I am with the others who commented: love the emergency box! Great way to fold a small bag. I am going to borrow that one for sure. I have a setup with a small wristlet wallet that holds my passport etc, a small emergency kit (that is still 4x size of yours?!! But I carry meds for my husband/me, so it is very nice. But I do have space for a tiny folded bag, very very handy!) then I too carry sunglasses, sometimes a small wooden comb as I am growing my hair back out and it is in the messy stage 😕.... and that is it really. Not mini-minimalist, but definitely the bare must haves. I like the sun screen though.... I will have to see if I can find that here. Very nice video, thank you Maggi!

    Subscribed. I love that you show real world use and not just a detailed view of bags etc , though that is useful too to some extent. I travel a lot, on and off since 2002. I recently stayed put working back home for a few years but am on the road ..air again. Finally. I’m a bit of a bag junkie. I ciimb, hike, bike, travel. So i use various bags , trips range from years to weeks. Last trip was 6 years. Current main bag is the Sea to Summit duffle - 45 L. Personal item is the Arc’teryx Granville 10, which I also use for as my bike bag. Then I have a Maka 2 from Arc’teryx , a 2 liter around town bag at my destination. I’m looking to change my main bag, the sea to summit is nice but I am looking for something possibly with more organization specifically exterior pockets,and a sleeve for my iPad Pro . I saw that you don’t have a laptop. My MacBook Pro 15 inch from 2017 died last year finally and I didn’t bother to buy another one. My wife has a MacBook Air , I share it with her if I need to do graphics , music , or video work. Awesome channel. Take care and have fun out there , would love to see vids of your destinations! We are currently in Mexico for some months.

      Glad to have to have you here! :)
      And thanks for your comment, I find it extremely interesting to hear about which things work for you!
      I did not find a backpack that seems to cater „iPad only travellers“. Either the laptop compartments are huge and take up too much weight and space, or they are so flimsy that I would not trust them with my iPad. I am really worried about bending and would not put it without any protection in a packed-out bag, so I use one of the Folios from Tomtoc. I have a video about it, and in the meantime, I have also purchased the slim verson that just fits my iPad and the keyboard + one magnetic cover. :)
      Enjoy Mexico!

      @@MaggiFuchs I keep my iPad in my Granville 10 which I mentioned during my flight and if moving from around at my destination. There are expensive options out there, which also tend to be on the heavier side. Tom BIihn seems to make excellent packs, from what I’ve seen online. They are quite heavy, and very expensive. Arc’teryx and other outdoor associated brands tend to use lighter year highly durable materials , just less organization options. The next place we travel to may be the islands here within MX. Don’t need much other than a tote and small carry on. Still on the hunt for the ultimate bag!:)

    How do you & your husband manage fitness during travels ? Do both of you workout in hotel gyms where you stay ?

      Hi! I think we are not really in the position to talk about how we stay fit while traveling… that‘s one of the things we struggle with a lot… and then there is the good food around us and new things to try in the supermarket… and fast food on travel days… 😂 But we love hiking and we try to go for a long walk every day, so that helps a little. Plus, I found a few stretching and fitness videos on UA-cam that I can do without equipment, standing up (so I don‘t need a mat) and with minimum space. But maybe I could make a short video about our struggles and how we try to stay fit & healthy.

    What do you do with coins? I have the same wallet and was planning to use the larger compartment for cash and change, but it can't be closed completely so the coins would fall out.

    • @susie9893
      @susie9893 2 роки тому

      When I'm in countries where I know I'll need coins (less and less in many countries now) I'll carry a little coin purse. And if it's just carrying coins it doesn't have to be secured away anywhere, just in main compartment of bag is fine, where easy access - I doubt I'd ever be carrying more than $10 worth of coins at any given time

    • @MaggiFuchs
      @MaggiFuchs  2 роки тому +2

      I pay with card as much as possible, I keep the cash as backup when it’s not possible. I found that the only places I cant pay with cash are usually restaurants etc, so places where I would leave a tip anyways & round up. The few coins I get I either keep in the wallet (in the zippered picket) or in my pockets, and I use them to go to toilets or give it to homeless people or musicians. I am currently in Brazil, and the largest coins they have is worth a few cents, so I really try to avoid to carry them with me for longer periods of time. 🤗

      @@susie9893 In some European countries I've visited you had to pay bus tickets with the exact amount, making coins necessary. It's a good to have a separate purse with change in your backpack, thanks for the idea. Carrying many coins around the neck all the time wouldn't be comfortable anyway.
