Hi all! So many of you asked for specific products and if I can provide links, so I updated the description. Hope this helps. :) All the best and happy travels!!!
Great tips for alternatives to liquids. Here is another for you that could replace your oil, lotion and conditioner, you can buy coconut oil in a tube. It does not count as a liquid because at room temperature it is basically a solid. Coconut oil is great for hair, skin, cuticles. I use it everyday as my moisturizer after my shower. The one I use is by Conscious Coconut and the tubes are 100ml. Happy travels!!
I really love that you're holding up your items for several seconds we can actually see and read the item product / brand name. Most people do it so fast you can't even register what it is they're showing us.
I loved this video. You come across as a real person, someone that the viewer would like to know. I appreciate your videos! I am implementing a lot of your suggestions.
Your videos popped up in my feed, and I'm glad! You have some really great tips here. Love that you spilled your powders and tabs, and just laughed and carried on!
Sisal can also develop mold if it doesn’t dry quickly enough (in the shower and/or humid countries), so those plastic soap bags are definitely better. Great idea to carry a suction hook! As an aside, that reminded me that from years of solo business travel, I carry a rubber doorstop in my bag and shove it under the outside door whenever I’m there - amazing little gadget that provides a lot of safety from potential intruders!
That‘s a great idea with the rubber doorstop and it would not take up too much space in my bag… definitely something to consider to add to my setup. :)
@@MaggiFuchs I don't think those soap bags are actually plastic! I think they are nylon! I use them all the time. Putting them in the other pouch is brilliant. That, and the tip about bringing a hook were brilliant tips. Thank you!

I LOVE this video. I returned to some of your older videos after watching your newer pack minimalist ways video. This is fantastic and so fresh and real. One of the reasons I started to watch you initially. Lots of great ideas too. Much love from Canada!❤
That video was such a struggle… The whole room was such a mess afterwards. 😂 But it’s still my favorite video I ever made, it makes me laugh everytime I see it.
Thanks! :) Well, good depends on the one who uses it I guess, what works for me may not work for you, but I already did a video where I talk about my past and current bags and why I liked / disliked them: ua-cam.com/video/CPQmH5ulLlg/v-deo.html
Very useful. I am on a mission to minimize my travel personal items. The polish remover pads was especially helpful, that is an area that I had not yet addressed. Thank you! Nicci from California, USA
This was interesting. I'm also obsessed about toiletries even thought I don't travel much I love the challenge of minimalist. Other toiletries bags to consider are the Evergoods Civic Access Pouch 2L and the Qwstion Toiletry kit. The makeup remover pad is a good idea however I have found a much smaller makeup remover reusable pad made of silicone that works great and cost a couple dollars.
That's a great idea Viktória! I am sure they are much better for the environment than my plastic ones. 🙈 But I use them for a long time, so I guess it's okay. If I can give you one suggestion, maybe try to find a quick-drying fabric? I’ve made soap bags from the fake sisal back scrubbers that are just a hemmed length, shaped like a scarf. Have found them for a few dollars at Walmart, TJMaxx and on Amazon. I actually use the soap while it’s inside the bag ad a scrubber - no need for a washcloth or scrubber, and works great at camp!

I have the same wash bag and it's great. The main purpose for me (I use it for normal travel as well) is when going hiking. I have minimal toiletries (a small bottle of shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste if less than about 10 days) and there is room for a lot of other things like small coffee bags, my socks, first aid kit etc.
Hi Anders! Same here - I also take this with me when I go long-term hiking and also store other things like my first aid kit and so on in there as well. :) I really love this washbag.
For face Uv i use Eucerin 50 for face, come in small package and can be blended with foundation if needed. My therapist recommended this after i got microdermabrasion therapy to remove acne scars and had to be protected extra from sun following spring and summer. Use different sunscreen for my body. This will not get oily and is great for face. Have had acne for years every month when period was coming up and mixed oil skin
I bought the matador bag and a sisal soap bag as I had the same idea as you. I haven't been able to travel recently but I had noticed, like you, the bag takes forever to dry.
I loved this video.....🤣..... you have the best laugh and a great sense of humor. The reality of life is that gravity takes hold when it wants and things fall everywhere, all over. May as well laugh it off. 😁
Hi Maggi- I love your videos! Your genuineness and authentic personality is very refreshing. :) Quick question about your liquids - do you carry a TSA 3-1-1 compliant bag to put them in?
Yes, I usually carry one or two 1l ziploc bags with me and repack my toiletries if I’m flying. I have a video where I talk about my process: Pack with me for a long flight ✈️ ua-cam.com/video/M59XzPfEzcY/v-deo.html
You can just use 'soap bags' in a thin fabric - silk or nylon. Last longer and not plastic. Can usually score cheap at a $ store as well. Have you tried crystal deodorants? I tend to sweat a lot but I find it works fine as long as I'm not being excessively active in really hot weather and what's great about them is that you can apply to ALL areas where you tend to sweat when it's hot - it's mild enough for that 😊 Thanks for the tip about how to pack powders - I've started using bicarb soda for my hair etc and have been a little concerned how I'd get that thru customs. And I LOVED the tip about the tooth tablets. (I use teeth charcoal too but I've been really concerned about spilling it when I'm traveling cos it's so fine - what's your experience of this?). I carry tiny bottles of essential oil (usually vanilla) lasts better than perfume and you use less
Hi Susie! Thanks for your nice comment, and sorry for my late reply. :) Regarding the charcoal… I also had problems with spilling in the past. What works for me are those little black containers with a screw top that they give you at Lush when you get a free sample. They have been spill proof so far for me. But I always open and close them over a sink ,and tap on top a few times before I open them. :)
That’s excellent, Debbie! Unfortunately all those items for traveling are often a huge waste and a lot of packaging, but I think that at least solid toiletries go in the right direction - and hopefully we will see a lot more of those in the future. :)
The last balm reminds me of Egyptian Magic, which also serves dozens of purposes, maybe a good alternative as it is available in more countries. Thank you for the very informative video! Great ideas.
Hi! Thanks for your nice comment! 🤗 I never heard of Egyptian Magic, but I googled it and its literally everywhere, even here in Austria. Seems to be very multifunctional as well and sounds very promising. Do you know how the consistency is? it sounds more like a cream than a hard balm? Would it count towards the liquid limits when traveling by airplane? 🙂
@@MaggiFuchs it's a soft balm and the package mentions the quality in ml.. So probably it would count as a liquid unfortunately. I didn't think about this aspect.
GoToob containers for carrying shampoo and conditioner. They are made from silicone, squeeze down so that you don't have additional air in them, and don't leak. Shampoo bars are not great for color treated hair, so not for everyone.

I didn't notice anything for feminine hygiene. I'm new to your channel so I might have missed something in another video. Do you have suggestions for feminine hygiene? I'm also curious what you would do if you need eye, nose, or ear care... Drops, sprays, etc. I have pretty bad allergies and my "toiletry kit" usually includes a nasal rinse, a nasal spray, eye drops, lid wipes, and sometimes ear drops. It can take up a lot of space. 😬 I'm also curious about what medications you might take with you to travel for pain relief, stomach issues, and other things that might pop up.
For long term travel, I usually restock once I need it while traveling. I tried all the “sustainable solutions” for feminine hygiene like cups or period panties, but they just don’t work for me and traveling (e.g. I have no way to properly sanitize them). So I just buy whatever I need when I need it. I have not been in a place yet where I could not buy some basic sanitary things like pads or tampons. And allergies are definitely not fun. I guess am “lucky” because mine are more food related, so I need less drops and more pills… 😅 More carry on friends… 🙈 And there I usually bring enough to cover a few days, and then I restock on the go.
Maggie - I’m sure you’ve heard of Weleda skin food since it’s a German brand. I like to travel with that - really good multipurpose cream. I like to mix it with a lighter cream and use it on my face as well.
Happy to discover your channel a few days ago, I also travel with a backpack, I was just wondering if you go through airport security with all this nice toiletry bag packed like this instead of the ziplock bag fir liquids only. I enjoyed your videos very very much and really love your accent.
What a fun and interesting video! I love how fun you had filming this 😂 I love shampoo and soap bars and I also use a conditioner bar for my hair. They work great, both in everyday life and while traveling. Everything multipurpose is great for traveling! For females I would say that a diva cup is much better than tampons. Sometimes I see packing videos where people pack like 100 tampons with them and I think it's a bit funny since a dive cup is much better and takes up less space 🙈
Hi Milla! Thanks for your nice comment. :-) Which conditioner bar do you use? I tried one from Lush once, but it melted in hot climate and then I had to throw it away. I totally agree about the female hygiene part... ;-) But honestly, I wish I could love menstrual cups as much as I would like to love them. I tried two different brands so far, but I couldn't make them work for me (yet). But I am not giving up! I would never travel with a year supply of tampons though. When those days of the months arrive while I am traveling, I just purchase whatever they have locally. That worked quite well for me so far.
@@MaggiFuchs I have tried one from lush but didn't like it. Currently I use one from a Finnish brand called Famo and I love their products but not sure if they deliver outside of Finland. 😊 Very understandable! It definitely takes some time getting used to it and exactly, you don't need to carry a year worth of tampons haha. 😅
@@angrybutterflys No, not yet. I have been eyeing the ziggy cup on Amazon though, but I didn't find the courage yet to spend all that money on it... But I read that you can "empty" them without removing them completely, so I was very interested... Do you prefer them over cups? They seem so big though... ;-)
@@MaggiFuchs Thanks so much Maggi! I watched it twice now and see that you actually say it as well... So apologies for this, love this video and the tips!
@@MaggiFuchs One more question :) Which size do you have of the toiletry bag? Is it the small size or large? Would love to order it. This video is so helpful!
Thanks to this video I'll try out the toothpaste pills and I found that dry oil is a thing. Will definitely try that out as well. Greetings from Germany, Neighbour =)
They are also called „Trockenöl“, which translates as dry oil. I guess that‘s because you don‘t feel oily for hours after you applied it. My favorite one is the Cattier Dry Oil, when you google that you could find the ingredients. Maybe then you could try to find a similar oil?
Thank you for the video ! It inspired me to buy that toiletry kit and a few things that you showed. But a 100ml bottle is too big for the bag so I would like to know the capacity of your dry oil container please.
Love your videos! Very informative and I appreciate you NOT removing the "bloopers" during editing (toothpaste pills & powder :). FYI - your section on "Antitransparent" should be "antiperspirant" as in perspire/sweat. It's nice to get tips from a real lady who doesn't focus on packing a ton of makeup, jewelry and high-heeled shoes!

Hi Francesca! I repack the fluids in a Ziploc bag before I leave for the airport. :)
Love this!~ thank you for posting
Thanks for watching! 🤗
Hi Maggi, welche Größe ist dein Sea to summit Toiletry bag? S oder L? Danke dir 🌺
Hi Anja! Ich habe S. :)
Really helpful video! Thank you! Cheers from Croatia!
Which conditioner bar do you use?
You're right, they are not available here in Austria. Even though Finland wouldn't be that far away. :-)
@@MaggiFuchs have you tried menstrual discs? they are similar to cups
@@angrybutterflys No, not yet. I have been eyeing the ziggy cup on Amazon though, but I didn't find the courage yet to spend all that money on it... But I read that you can "empty" them without removing them completely, so I was very interested... Do you prefer them over cups? They seem so big though... ;-)
Love your videos!
Thanks Sam! :)
which pouch is it for the soap bar?? Love the size!!
which size*
Its the Matador Soap Pouch… as far as I know, there is only one size :)
@@verklapper It's the small one! :)
Thanks to this video I'll try out the toothpaste pills and I found that dry oil is a thing. Will definitely try that out as well.
Greetings from Germany, Neighbour =)
What exactly is that multi-purpose oil? I’d love to buy some? I don’t recognise either of the 2 brands you showed
They are also called „Trockenöl“, which translates as dry oil. I guess that‘s because you don‘t feel oily for hours after you applied it. My favorite one is the Cattier Dry Oil, when you google that you could find the ingredients. Maybe then you could try to find a similar oil?
Put a small plastic over the top before putting back the cap , that would prevent the lotion to Leek. Between uses, while traveling
Great tip Elena, thank you! :)
How do u take off waterproof mascara without micellar water or makeup remover?
Honestly, I usually don’t. I don’t use it very often, and when I do, I’m super lazy and just leave it on… 🙈
@@MaggiFuchs 😱😱

Love this! Thank you.
Thank you for the video ! It inspired me to buy that toiletry kit and a few things that you showed. But a 100ml bottle is too big for the bag so I would like to know the capacity of your dry oil container please.
I think its 50ml. Dry oil lasts me forever, so this is enough for me many months. :)
@@MaggiFuchs Thank you. Do you remember where you bought the bottle ?
@@efanden the 50ml one? I think that was a cheap one at some dollar store… nothing special! :)
@@MaggiFuchs Alright, thank you, I can't find anything decent but I'll search.
They are annoyingly hard to find… I remember looking for a long time. They either are huge and overprized or a pack of 50. ;-)
Great ideas!
Thanks Marcia! :-)
Thanks Julie. Well, I guess I mixed my languages them. In German, we call it Antitranspirant, I guess that’s where this is coming from 😅
Where is the plastic saop pouch from…NOT the matador one?
Just a cheap one I found on Amazon. Just look for soap bags and you should be able to find something similar. :)
For ladies who like me are not comfortable using a diva cup, we have thinx reusable period undies, and on top of this I also use reusable period pads from be g
Free. Both are environmentally friendly too. From australia
I love period underwear, it is so handy! Also, there are menstrual discs if the cups don’t work for your body.
