Reading about the Stack Audio products, I was introduced to the MPID ( Multi Particle Isolation Dampers ). This technology dated from 1937 and there are a lot of white papers on studies by many universities. It's used in aviation, industrial buildings, space technology and more. I made my own MPI devices. I gave some to a friend too. The results are amazing and they cost a fraction of the real ones. The results are similar to the ones I read about in many reviews. They are basically aluminum , metal bearings or tungsten powder and the EQ used a silicone material. All parts were from Amazon. There is science behind those and the white papers talked about it. Took me a month reading and gathering information common to every study. At the end, the results are what matter to me and the economy of doing them.
I appreciate your approach, As i a while back experimented with similar diy devices but for speaker isolation, It would be very interesting to know if you documented your experiment some where online. thanks for sharing your thoughts
I appreciate you sharing your personal experience of what works and why. UA-cam can be an echo chamber of people sharing the same information to fit in with everyone else. I’ve stated in the past that I felt, with a specific setup, that ISO Acoustics took life out of the music. “Experts” claimed I’m insane and that their isolation products would only improve the sound, not tarnish it. Well, selfishly, I’m glad to hear someone else state the same. I’ll be checking out a set of SA’s and run it through the same system. I agree - people on the forums and group are more worried about being right and telling others how they are wrong, rather than simply accepting we all hear differently and our systems are all different. That's why I go through great lengths in my vids to say I'm not saying I am right, I'm just telling you what I hear. I frankly think most people in forums have no life except to argue over nothing. I recently bought the Stack Audio Auva 100 speaker feet. Although they have received a number of positive reviews, I was still mildly skeptical as to what difference they could make, but I must admit that they really improved the sound in my setup compared with the IsoAcoustics Gaia II feet that I had up to then. With the Stack Audio EQ feet that I have under my DAC, streamer, power supply and amplifier, the improvement was more subtle as compared with the original feet belonging to each unit.
I just put a waterchug on my Dac, since I'm short on door stoppers and it made a noticable improvement. Try damping the cases as well everyone! Also, I got a set of brass spikes and it also improves under my class d power amp and my tube preamp too.
Has someone who tried both Stillpoints and Franc Fat Foots under both my speakers and components did very little to my Gryphon Audio system. Recently ironically on the Antipodes forum I noticed a few people mentioning Stack Audio products being very good so decided to order some EQ’s for under my Antipodes server- have to say seriously impressed with the improvement of just sounding more open and transparent but in a very natural way. For the money I personally think they are a steal especially when comparing with Stillpoints which are simply insanely priced considering the lack of improvement. Ive just ordered another set for my DAC plus having read the AUVA’s speaker option reviews will add later as my speakers are on spikes on wood floor which is not idea I’m sure.
Also - a tweek that creates loads of heat from the audio commentators who never hear a difference - lucky them - are cable lifters True - Some are eye wateringly expensive I improvised with toilet roll cardboard inserts put together with parcel tape All my cables are now off the ground on those things It really looks crap - terrible in fact But sounds amazing! I looked at everything on the market and went with Viablue UFO feet for everything(even the rack). They allow threaded adapters or screws and come in flat black. Individual stick on isolators too.
@@GreekAudioGeek They do everything I need them to. I think I have 10-12 sets in total, but I bought them before the price increase last year. I'm sure the more expensive products like Stack Audio, Revopods and Wellfloat triangles do a better job though. Audiophile Junkie uses them also and preferred them over the CCP made Isoacustics too.
Ok,time has passed by ..busy evening. I run the ISO under all my components…tho I’m in the middle of reconfiguring my stack (I’m a head fi guy) ..so the immediate benefit of them is a subtle thing ..but mostly use them to replace the generally crappy feet that come with most equipment.
I put isoacoustics under my Audiovector speakers. I don’t know if they have a positive effect or not. Probably a waste of money but oh well, they at least make the speakers look a bit taller. They take too long to install so doing a A B is not feasible with my bad music memory.
A- B ? You get s*it wrong. If you listen a system a month and put there iso feet, you should be able detect diffetence very easy. Maybe you go positioning and room acoustics so bad, that you mostly hear reflections. But still, bass is another "animal".
As you also pointed out, my main problem with buying feet under my components is having X type of materials. It varies the results. But I've also been starting to experiment more in the past months, as my system is getting more and more resolving, every change just becomes more noticable. (Under my floorstanders small Viablue ufo rubber absorbers didnt make a difference against stock spikes. Didnt notice much under source components either. Case vibration damping there helps more.)
Yup - trial and error is key. There is never one universal all-true "this is the best" that can declared by anyone on any product. It's all system and personal preference dependent which is what makes this hobby so great.
Did you try three placed equily around the center weight spot of a component? I found a nice improvement with amps where the toroid offsets the central weight point of the unit. May work for you too.
@MichaelsHiFiAdventures I'm the same exact way. Horns and tubes just really suit my tastes. I'll be interested to see your next horn speakers. There's a guy in Parker, TX who is the rep. for Avant-garde. Maybe check it out. I heard them at the Southwest Audio event.

What component out of streamer or Dac benefited the most for improving a sound?
The DAC did because it is a tube DAC. But the streamer still have a very noticeable improvement as well.
I love mine and found just loosening (from the bottom) by half a turn made the biggest difference.

Viablue recommends moving up to the UFO XLs if the component weighs around the half way point or more of the smaller sized UFO max weight spec.

Hi - yes I tried them in several positions - even trying 3 vs. 4 feet as well.
Gingko audio vibration stuff was superior over the isoacoustics for me. Solid for the price.

Did you get rid of the Fyne speakers? Did you not like them?
They are great speakers. I'm just moving back to a horn speakers and selling the Fyne's. I've had horns in the past and I really love horns.

Plastic bottle tops are even cheaper. Use them for feet, and placed on the top of equipment with large metal plates.
