Great test! Must admit I was a little disappointed with the RT45 but the Falken definitely caught my eye with performance ratings. Looking forward to more tests!

I’m a Honda service advisor and tires are one of my favorite things to study. Honda dealerships source their tires through TireRack Wholesale. The Continental TrueContact Tour tires on my commuter 2016 Civic LX are getting low on tread after 50k miles, so I’m shopping for replacements. I’ve got my eyes on Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus and Michelin CrossClimate2 (which I’ve got on my wife’s 2019 Odyssey).
But after watching this video I am seriously considering the Falken Sinceras. I love their price point and the testing doesn’t lie!

I wish you would keep the old reviews accessible on your website at least for a short while so we could compare those results with these. The General Altimax RT45 fared very well in your previous review and is revered by many as the best bang for the buck tire out there. I had good luck with the older General Altimax RT43 on two different vehicles so I replaced them with a set of the RT45 on one of the vehicles six months before we sold it. I was very impressed with them and had another set of RT45s installed on our other vehicle a few months later. I was surprised the RT45 failed the emergency maneuver test. I agree that handling isn't it's strong suit, but I found that adding a bit more tire pressure helps greatly with this. I have them running at 41 PSI instead of the 36 PSI recommended on the tire placard. They are XL tires (OE was SL) so that might make a difference too.

So far with about 17,000 on the Rt45 they have been better than the stock contentals that came on the car. Makes a subaru a tank in the snow. Good wet traction. I do agree little higher pressure helps with handling. We will see how long they last could of got 55k to 60k out of the OE contental tires on the subaru.

I agree. A possible workaround is to look up test results by the tire model - it shows all of the tests that tire was in

This came out right after I purchased a set of the Kumho TA91's. For the price per tire, and how well they did compared to tires more expensive, you can't beat it!

Be honest: Did you guys make the vogue picture frame hands? "Strike a pose." I can't tell you how helpful this was. So much more comprehensive than just the ratings grid. It also showed me that the more expensive brands aren't always that great.

I haven't been able to find any info about this, but how would you say the new Falken Sincera 250 A/S compares to the Pirelli P7 Cinturato All Season Plus 2? It's the only tire I've seen on Tire Rack that got a 9 for ride comfort and noise. I would also consider the All Season Plus 3 but they stopped making R16 tires for that series unfortunately.

Hi Tire rack, thanks for the detailed review. Wet weather driving/traction and low noise is a priority for me, so i like the look of the Vredestein HiTrac All Season. How does this compare to the Conti Cross Contact LX25 or Yoko Geo CV G058 in the Premium CUV test? I drive a 2020 Subie Forester Ltd. Thanks

I had the Comfortdrive and traded them in at about 45k miles. They still had plenty of tread 6/32 left but they were not even close in quality to the previous Comfortread touring tires. I really disliked that there was very little road feel from the tires. I purchased the CC2's and have about 1800 miles on them and they are smoother, quieter, and give better road grip and feel than the Comfortdrives. I personally did not lose any MPG going with the Michelins. I couldn't be any happier with the CC2's so far.

@@tirerack Sure, but Im just wondering in general if putting pilot sport 4S on a FWD car. or like non-super sport car is worth it, or if another tire can provide comparable grip, but be smoother, quieter, etc.
For example. 2016 scion tC 225/45/18's. again, grip is most important, but if my car cant take advantage of a ps4s then what else can I go with?

I would recommend a UHP summer tire over a Max Performance tire (e.g. 4S). Tire Rack recently did a UHP tire review. As you move towards better dry performance, you lose some of the comfort and noise suppression. If you have the outgoing V6 Camry, you can DEFINITELY make use of a UHP tire in SoCal. Instead of the Pilot Sport 4S, you can look at the Pilot Sport 4 or Pilot Sport All-Season 4, General G-MAX RS, Advan Flexa V701, etc.

I would recommend the PS4s but just keep in mind that its pretty uncormfortable, it kinda gets annoying while daily driving but in terms of grip its insane it deletes 90% of the understeer on FWD cars at legal speeds @@rmat9023

Will we see more Tesla tire testing? Particularly Model Y 20”? It seems for the popularity Model Y has there’s not too many options out there. Anything in the pipeline in terms of further testing or new tire options?

    • @tirerack

At this time, we do not have any plans to add a Model Y to our lineup. However, we do offer a good selection of EV tires for our Model 3 platform in 19-inch, 20-inch, and 21-inch sizes. We are continuously seeking ways to enhance our testing processes. If you have any specific tires in mind that you would like to see us test, please feel free to share your suggestions. Thank you.

this review is not false it is a mid-level tire review. They even said that in the video. Use some common sense, all you have to do is look at their other videos. People need to stop leaving negative reviews about stuff especially when they have no clue what they're talking about.
