Rock Choir sing Shake A Tail Feather at Wings in Wombourne (27-04-24)

*This was the debut performance of this song - it was the last one we learnt last term and with Danny. Hope we did you proud Dan!*
On Saturday 27th April 2024 members of the Stourbridge & Kidderminster Rock Choirs were invited to perform at the Wings Spring Fling in Wombourne, South Staffs to celebrate their 30th birthday. Wings is a charity supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, and it is special to our choirs because one of our members, Nancy Flavell, co-founded it.
This was our first gig of the year as we had a quiet spring term, mainly because our leader Dan was covering many others choirs too! Sadly, Dan has permanently moved to lead the Derbyshire Rock Choirs We wish him the best of luck and we will miss him and his cheeky humour - thank you for two fabulous terms of fun Danny.
On the upside, our beloved Paola Olivetti has returned to us! Our favourite Britalian missed us so much that she couldn't stay away. With only one week of rehearsals before this gig and illness wiping out much of the lower half of the choir, I think the Rockies & Paola did a great job.
It's fantastic to be back out there singing and our next scheduled gig at the moment is the Wolverhampton Race For Life in West Park on 9th June. Some of our Rockies will be supporting Jacob's Worcestershire choir at the Malvern Spring Show at the Three Counties Showground on the 3rd & 4th of May. Hope to see you there.
