On Saturday 7th September 2024 members of Stourbridge and Kidderminster Rock Choirs were one again invited to perform at the Kemp Hospice Butterfly Release in Bodenham Arboretum near Kidderminster. Whilst we didn't have the blazing sunshine that we had last year, it stayed dry and the butterflies took to the sky in a glorious way.
It was an especially poignant gig for us this time, as we have lost 4 Rockies in the last year or so, the most recent on the last day of term in July. A number of us sponsored butterflies to release in memory of those Rockies and others we have lost.
It is a nice change of pace to perform a gig full of our slower and more meaningful songs, and we are proud to support Kemp Hospice in Kidderminster with the wonderful work that they do. If you would like more information about them, please visit their website: www.kemphospice.org.uk/
