  • This is one of the final stages of making a skimboard. I go over all of the coats like the glass coat, flood coat and the final gloss coat. I cover sanding and some on polishing.

in the past couple of years, a foldable keyboard stand works great. This allows apace all around the bottom side when the glass is being folded over

i cut my rocker into the blank. I start with a really big block of foam and i cut the board to what ever shape and rocker size i want.
I don't bend the board and keep in place with fiberglass. this is one way to do it.
    goodluck

I use the same 2 part epoxy for the gloss coat. I heat up the resin and i place in a vacuum chamber to get rid of the air in the epoxy. The heated resin flows better and the heat helps expel the air in the resin.

the flood coats are the next coats of resin after the initial glass layup. the flood coat is intended to fill in all of the rough texture of the fiberglass.
you should have both sides of the board coverd in fiberglass and dried b4 the flood coats

i think using an ironing board may eliminate the need for a weight... maybe...

will work fine, but you must use the correct foam core. Polyester will not work with Styrene foam as shown in my videos.
