As an Asian artist, I can tell their art especially the coloring was gold. Not many Asians drew these kind of style since they prefer anime/semi-realism style, but Turning Red decide to do this style and it turns out perfect. Really like these arts. The story is also relatable, definitely become one of my favourite movies I had ever watched
They even included Mei's fan art book! So cool!!

I’m generally not a fan of Pixar Art of books because they generally feature one picture per page (with a bunch of empty white space), and focus on one artist. But this actually looks good, they’re showing a lot more of their rough pre-viz stuff, which I love, the little notebook addition was cute, and it makes me want to check out the movie.

@@curiouscat222 have you checked out the original Open Season art book? It’s my gold standard (Surf’s Up is a close second). I also love Kung Fu Panda, Paranorman, Book of Life, The Croods, and Rio. Ratatouille is the only Pixar art book, I think, that comes close.
@@ourabouras oh boy ur right on the mentioned books! I think open season and ratatouille was carter Goodrich? I didn’t get the croods and rio although I did catch the films. Spider verse is pretty hefty too. It’s been a while so I could be wrong but how to train your dragon and tangled may be good too?
@@curiouscat222 Yeah Ratatouille and Open Season (as well as Hotel Transylvania) are heavy Cater Goodrich art books, and I love them for it. Spider-verse is more of a coffee table book than an Art of book, imho. It’s large but there’s a lot of dead space, there isn’t a single finalized character design of Myles in it, and their biggest sin (again imho😊) is that they gave Myles’s roommate the same amount of attention as MJ. As much as I adore Nico Marlet I’m not a fan of the HTTYD art books, they have some weird formatting and focused solely on one artist. Tangled is a great book, I’d also recommend Trolls, Trollhunter, and I have this French one Mune: The Guardian of the Moon that is breathtaking 😁

usually it's released same time as movie to avoid spoilers but I think there was miscommunication on dates as the movie is on disney+
