My Jishi arrives today! We’re moving a Seiryu from a container into the landscape and the Jishi will go right next to our Shishi. Looks like our timing was good.

My Red Lion is putting out shoots of new growth above the graft, but below its existing branches. Any ideas on letting it fill out all the way to the ground or should I keep that trunk structure visible? I bought the large 2-gallon tree from you last fall and have up potted it.

I would just let them go if it’s above the graft

Sounds like this tree is pretty hot tolerant. Do you think this tree will be OK if I plant it next to my brick siding?
For most places yes. It would depends some on heat index but I’ve seen it do great in that setting
