It's sad because on some fronts they did right like how much better the stealth is in PayDay 3 vs PayDay 2. But it doesn't mean much if they failed on almost every other front that mattered.
Here is the thing though. Payday 2 was janky at launch for sure but it ran well. It was fun. It didn't have stupid microtransactions all over the place. That is what sets this launch apart from Payday 2's launch. there will be no Final Fantasy 14 situation with this game. Payday 3 is dead. the dev should honestly just move on.

It’s too late now they should’ve had these features from the get go. It was a shame because I really looked forward to this game until the constant server maintenance and lack a of offline mode. I ended up going back to pay day 2 which has served me well
I was honestly shocked when I first saw the recent player counts. I haven't played in awhile so I thought it would've gone done a little bit, but it dipping into the lower hundreds is insane.

I agree with a lot of your points, I want it to be good but seeing how other developers dump patches out including simple things like 'play again' buttons cross platform, simultaneously....really kind of gets under my skin. Have you tried The Finals? It's the most fun I've had playing a competitive FPS in years!
I played payday the heist and got payday 2 when it released. Ended up spending a decent amount on the constant dlc they were putting out, but I was having fun and then quit after some time. When I came back there were a hundred new dlcs and the game was unrecognizable, weird stuff like h3h3 characters, just an absolute mess. They eventually had a deal going where you would basically rebuy the game and you'd have all the dlc so I decided to do that and pick it up again. And then they came out with more dlc. Never gonna give them any more money. Starbreeze is a company that failed on every project they ever tried, except they had one thing that worked which was pumping out payday 2 dlcs. Payday 3 was never going to be good. Their business model and rationale behind making a new game is that they can sell their playerbase the same things yet another time. It even kind of worked for them, they made a lot from the one time sales of the game itself, though clearly they were hoping to make many times more from microtransactions. My guess is that for the hundredth time in the company's history they will fall back on just releasing another dozen dlc for payday 2.
@@Bennjipie The same exact thing has happened to me in like 3 other different games 🥲In this case payday 2 is still alive at least, I tried playing it again with a friend not too long ago but it doesn't hit the same anymore.
