- Producer Lorne Michaels, stars Mike Myers, Dana Carvey and Rob Lowe, and director Penelope Spheeris at the Academy's 21st anniversary screening of "Wayne's World," moderated by executive producer/Academy President Hawk Koch, on April 23, 2013 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
Rob Lowe either has a Lazarus pit in his house or He's a fucking Timelord.
Wayne's World is easily my favorite comedy. Like most fans, I've watched it and the sequel a thousand times since childhood.

It is because of Wayne's World that we all headbang to Bohemian Rhapsody. As others have already said Dana and Rob don't seem to have aged much since the film was made.

As the saying goes, "you can't go home again." Any attempt at a third Wayne's World would inevitably disappoint. Here's to great memories of the first two and hoping they don't try to do the inpossible and recapture the magic that the series once had.
Mike and Dana are my favorite SNL actors by far. I’m too young to remember the original cast (born in ‘77) but in my time Dana and Meyers are still by far the best.

to those who don't know the full history here, it's kind of interesting: penelope spheeris and mike myers did NOT get along. it was due to his demands that she was essentially fired from directing the sequel. myers and dana carvey also had a falling out after the release of 'austin powers,' as carvey felt that myers had stolen his impersonation of lorne michaels for the character of dr. evil. this was very much a public burying-of-the-hatchet, and it's kind of weirdly touching to see them all on stage together praising each other's work. that's what life is all about, ultimately: you look back and (hopefully) remember the positives rather than the negatives. i'd love to see a third film.

Zombie Squad reuniting for a sketch at an awards show after being separated for many years doesn't necessarily mean they're best friends again. this video i commented on was the true burying of the hatchet for all involved.

There were some rough years after the original cast. After Eddie Murphy left, Waynes World was one of the first skits I laughed out loud at in a long time. I started trying to make it home from awesome parties in time to catch a Churchlady or Wayne's World skit. This was another golden era for SNL.
Watching this for the 1st time & hearing how Mike revered Bohemian Rhapsody back then & now knowing it's their Signature Song( Freddie's Biopic is named it) show what a visionary he is

I'm Canadian and after hearing how poorly mike myers treats his film crews I'd rather trade America for Dana Carvey, who ive met at the Hard Rock in Vancouver and he was a consummate gentleman and very kind

The basis for dr evil was Dana Carvey’s impression of Lorne Michaels. Mike Myers took that impression and the rest is history. If you listen to Lorne’s speech pattern you can hear it

They're proud of it and they have every right to be. It was hugely successful and shot Bohemian Rhapsody back onto the Billboard top 10 Eighteen years after the song was released.

Apparently the Dr. Evil character was a Dana Carvey impression of Lorne Michael's and he didn't ask Dana about using it. Also he didn't want to collaborate with Dana and just wanted to do it his way. Dana actually quit right before filming because the script was crap at the time.

I read somewhere that Penelope Spheeris said that Mike Myers was a nightmare to work with and caused so many production problems that she would never work with him again, hence why she didn't direct the sequel. So either she's let all that go or it's media pleasantries in this interview.

My family rented jetskiis and a motor boat one day on vacation in califorinia... we were running at full throttle and my brother, who was about 5'8" clean shaven, not by choice, with the most killer black mullet lost his hat, and we took the tightest turn o. If "Bill and Ted Face the Music" isn't a completely bomb - and honestly I'm more hopeful about that movie then I expected to be all the years it was just vaguely rumored to be happening - then there WILL be serious talk about Wayne's World 3.
Was just listening to Dana talk about wanting to quit the movie and being upset with Mike for stealing his impressions of Lorne and making it into Dr. Evil.
