I guess I am going to rant a little bit. It just bugs me that land which is not privately owned is still owned by the government. I'd like this land to be owned by the people. There should be plenty of public land where nomads and homeless people can freely rest and roam. We have so many homeless people. I see them on our streets every day and wonder where I would go and what I would do, if I were to become completely homeless. In today's housing industry, the price of owning or even renting a home/apartment can seem out of reach. I know it's not, but sometimes it feels like it; and this is coming from someone who believes that we create everything in our lives and all things are possible. I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be for people who believe, through no fault of their own, that life is happening to them, for people who feel they have no control over their circumstances.

I understand. There is a VAST area of the Rockies that is not the park that people can vanlife and disperse camp. I wish the urban areas had more for homeless too. Places they can easily access anything they need like transportation, healthcare, jobs, etc. Our town is working on it but it seems so slow. My sisters boyfriend works for the homeless team in Vancouver, Wa. Their team is completely made up of only people who have personally experienced homelessness. It's a small team but they are making an impact.

@@CattailChronicles It's good to hear that there are places in the Rockies where one can experience vanlife. It's not what I really want; but I keep finding myself drawn to those videos and considering the possibilities.
I love what your sister's boyfriend is doing. Those who have experienced homelessness would have a better idea of what homeless people need and what kind of help they want.
When I dream of winning the lottery, I have two communities I dream of building. One is for homeless dogs and the other is for homeless people. There is far too much detail in those dreams for me to bombard you with it; but suffice it to say that these dream communities support dogs and people finding a path to their own homes.
Thanks for sharing, Monique! I am enjoying this conversation, even if I am being a bit of a downer. My mood is probably a consequence of my own search for a clean, comfortable, safe and harmonious home; and it probably also has to do with the fact that I'll officially turn 60 tomorrow. 😅
Have a beautiful and amazing Sunday afternoon, my dear virtual friend! ☺☺
