I love the little Reality Show Style cut-ins explaining the cards and how the duelists are feeling. It’d be funny if they had like Trell or Alex commenting on the moves the duelists make as viewers… might be weird though
It would be funny to have Trell just cutting in with "I wouldn't do that".

They should spice it up with some reality TV style drama! LOL. Cut away to Paul saying you know I know Alec be cheating and all but he's got to do what he's got to do I guess. Haha JK. Cut away to Alec being like I know Paul is kind of salty but I can't help it if I win all the time. Then cut away to Trell being like I wish they would play some more modern Yu-Gi-Oh, but truth is they can't handle me anyway. LOL

This episode is easily one of my new favorite episodes of the whole series. That final play from Alec with Lava Golem, only for Paul (who I hope is having a good recovery) to have a counter and push for game. That was so cool and fun to watch. Here's a little something to help with these next packs. Love the series and keep up the phenomenal work, team.
I love this series. I don't play yugioh currently but I used to back in like 2000-2002. These bring me back
I feel like a retrospective/recap would be great. like a review of how the previous duals went while getting into their strengths and staples and how the deck has evolved to what it is now. explaining the differences between the “main strategies” you employ.
Love the content guys! Your videos make me so nostalgic for going down to the rec center after school as a kid and playing YuGiOh! with some of my best friends (who are still some of my best friends to this day). Magician's Force is crazy expensive, so I want to help out, at least a little. Looking forward to the next Rare Hunter video!

Yes please, more duels is always welcome and it'll let more of the new and old cards shine. I didn't see Jinzo for several duels now.
Probably because of the whole theme of rare hunters where well they only duel once and take losers card

One of the most entertaining and back and forth duels I've seen in a long time, you guys deserve this! I was afraid that it was going to be very one-sided because I feel that Alec drafted stronger cards. I can't imagine how the costs must be piling up, so here's what I can do to help!
Easily my favourite weekly show I always tune in for, more than happy to help cover a portion of the costs if I can! I love the deck building and seeing it all come together! As well as the fun little interactions like that offerings to the doomed being used on a monster you control, absolutely wild!

These are always so entertaining because they feel like a duel that would’ve occurred in the anime haha. Long with lots of counters, twists, and turns! Love the series

Theres something about how Yugioh used to be played that was so much fun... All the little set up and having to wait several turns for them to play out, made it so satisfying 😌
I might catch flak for this, but Old Yugioh>>>>>>>>>New Yugioh
Same goes for Pokemon TCG too, EX and GX ruined the game completely by invalidating the entire old gameplay loop. Being able to instantly put down a 220HP Basic with a 1-or-2-energy 50+ attack is busted, and makes every Stage 1 and Stage 2 ever printed basically useless. The whole evolution mechanic gets thrown in the garbage unless you strictly ban those cards.
@@MastaDRD I think old Yu-Gi-Oh was way better than new Yu-Gi-Oh! And I agree to an extent about Pokemon, but it is still a fun game that may have let power creep, you know, creep in a little bit too much, but the mechanics of the game are still very much the same, unlike Yu-Gi-Oh which got so confusing after and even during Synchro summons. Synchro summons, an overabundance of hand traps and op effects that are like a paragraph or three long, and Beyond, and turn two wins Ruined Yu-Gi-Oh! Imo. Also, Magic the Gathering got way too complex and confusing with new abilities and game mechanics coming out every single set now, since the Godzilla set! It's so stupid! With Pokemon, however, there's still a good amount of back and forth and the same basic principles, you just got to find ways to accelerate Energies for fast damage, Draw, and often get the newest, most powerful cards, but that's pretty much any card game. You should see some of the new cards, like Charizard VMAX, Charizard V-Star, Pikachu VMAX, Arceus V, Arceus V Star, Kingler V, Kingler VMAX, Zacian V, Etc. They are awesome! Pretty cool artwork for Pokemon, and very powerful yet definitely not confusing. If you want to give any card game another chance, I would go for Pokemon.
@@jamesmiranda1449 See with MTG though, you can bring a deck with only old cards and still win against a deck with the newest, hottest mechanics. Not one single pre-EX/GX Pokemon deck will ever win against a newer one with that stuff, not more than 1-3 out of 100 times and only then due to terrible hands/draws for the opponent. Yugioh is another case where a pre-Synchro/etc deck stands basically zero chance; the dynamic of the game itself has changed so substantially with everything designed to win in the first few turns, and instant recursion of the deck's best cards over and over.

Hey, these Rare Hunters have been some of the most fun card game videos I've seen in a long time. I think I appreciate the slower format and the fact that you're limited to the cards you open from the boosters, so your decks can never be entirely overpowered by having 3 of every amazing card.
I must also mention that your guys chemistry and charisma (your charismistry if you will) makes it delightful, having the perfect balance of being goofy and roleplaying while not going overboard into cringe and annoying.
Keep it up and I hope these 20 bucks help speed up for when the next episode comes out! Happy Holidays!

Paul does have Summoned Skull and Red Eyes Dragon with Polymerization. All he needs is the fusion monster and he will have his first extra deck in this series.
Dueling with old cards and no banlist is so entertaining and enjoyable to see. Just started watching this series though I'm a few episodes late but here I am. Looking forward for more.

God I love this series so much. I grew up on Yugioh, and learning all the new rules really threw my off the trend. Watching this series show up on my page makes me so unbelievably happy. Literally left my lecture early today to go home and watch this episode lmao

i loved the combination of lava golem with gravity bind. it keeps the opponent from attacking with lava golem while it does the damage for you.
This was a SOLID duel!!! The back and forth, the plays, and the unexpected play by Paul at the end! Me and 3 of my friends meet up once a week for a duel night over discord and most of us couldn't make it. This has me fired up for next week; as well as, the next episode for this series! The Rare Hunters series is truly refreshing and love what you guys are putting into it! 🤙🏽🤙🏽

I don't know if you all will see this, but I absolutely adore this series. It is slow and understandable for a Yu-Gi-Oh noob like me, but also exciting and high-stakes. I also enjoyed the edits with the players asides in this where you explained your reasoning. Not only does it give me an insight on why you played a card or how devastating it is for the other duelist, but it lets me get to know the character behind the Team APS members. Awesome work, all of you! Keep it up!

Helpemer is the monster on the packs. Marik used it during his duel with Joey as well as Lava Golem. Pharaonic Guardian was a cool set.

@@SetSeth-yl6ke Some other cards with different levels in the manga are Jinzo, Summoned Skull and Jacks Knight. The first two are level 7 and Jack is lv 4 with 1800 atk.
Legit one of my favorite trading card game series. It's always fun to see people appreciate vintage Yu-Gi-Oh cards and having fun with them all over over again.

This whole series reminds me of playing when the sets were coming out. Buying cards was mostly how ppl got cards but trading was the only way to finish your deck on the playground.

Honestly the best Yu-Gi-Oh! content on UA-cam right now, and really the only thing keeping me interested in the game. Hope this helps y'all recover some of the cost and allows you to keep doing it for future sets.

This set is really iconic for me. This is the one that was in shops when I first got into yugioh, age ~9ish. I only had a couple starter decks before but then I amassed a huge playground deck made exclusively out of Pharaonic Guardian. I don't really play any more, only got into speed duel and master duel recently, but seeing all these obscure old cards again brings back so many memories.
I like the monologue about the reason you activate cards. Reminds me of the anime characters thinking out their plays
The commentary cuts while you guys were playing was a great touch. Felt like I was kinda watching a reality Tv show lol

1:30 5:30 I always liked the card Souleater. Remember getting it as a kid i thought the design was quite cool and interesting. Weird that it is a fish and a earth attribute though, Probably the only one if im not mistaken. As kid many of the cards captured my imagination, even ones that are not relevant in the card or anime. Much like this fish that is earthly that feeds on souls!
