    Getting in the classroom as soon as possible is probably the best thing you could do regardless of your age. I was 25 my first year of teaching and I was still treated like I was my principles son-in-law. So weird... Grad school will teach you a lot, but being in the classroom will give you the skills to actually be successful. Its hard, but you got this!

    Congrats! Third is the best! I teach third too.
    My guess as to another consideration for why you were picked so quickly is because with COVID, a lot of teachers aren’t returning to the classroom due to being at risk of dying....especially if they teach in states that are treating the virus as though it doesn’t really kill people and sending their teachers back to school in person. Do you guys have a teachers union?
    You are the perfect candidate for teaching during this pandemic, young and with no children of their own to worry about.
    This opportunity is a gift that under normal times you might not have gotten so quickly being so fresh out of school and without the required certification. Use that to your advantage and slay this job so they keep you after this is over. ❤️

    My story is similar to yours, principal said your our last interview....and I just knew I got the job 💖 (6th grade for me) I did interview the previous year while finishing my Masters in Teaching but didn't have luck, so I went the traditional route. If you are trying to find a good/inexpensive program look into WGU, I finished courses in 3 mo, and then student taught this past fall. Love your videos, and how bubbly and positive you are! Best of luck this year, my district is starting 100% online, a little sad, but it's for the best!

    I know this video is old, but I wanted to say that I start classes for my alternative certification in Alabama one week from today, and I've been freaking out about how to go through the emergency certification process and find a teaching job for this fall, because I'm turning 26 in less than two months and I want to start teaching ASAP. I still need to talk to my advisors to figure out how to do this, because the process works a little differently here, but this video was helpful nonetheless! I have my bachelor's in studio art, so I have literally *nothing* to go off of, but I'm hoping for a miracle! Congratulations on your graduation -- it's amazing and encouraging to look back at your older videos and see how far you've come in two years.

    One question, since you’re in Florida I’m guessing it’s pretty hot all the time so are you aloud to wear shorts to work?

    If you didn't go to school for education, what made you want to become a teacher? hope that doesn't sound snarky :/ I really just want to know what made you change your mind.

    Could you explain a little more about what degree you got, why you didn’t get an elementary education degree if you wanted to be a teacher, and just a little bit more about all of that? 😁

    • @itsbaileystokes
      @itsbaileystokes  4 роки тому +3

      Yes!! So I chose family and child sciences my 2nd year of college and by the time I had made up my mind about wanting to teach I had already started taking my core classes for family and child sciences and I would’ve had to spend an extra 3 years at fsu if I switched to elem Ed just because I’d the day their program is set up and I knew I could still teach without having my bachelors in elem Ed so I stuck with family and child sciences and minored in education!
