- 19 year old Jay Slater from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, UK has been missing since Monday morning of this week after leaving the NRG Festival on the island of Tenerife with two men. The two men allegedly have spoken to Spanish police before leaving Tenerife to return to the UK. Jay's phone last pinged in the Masca area, up in the mountains, about 30 miles north of where he was staying with his friends in Los Cristianos. Cops and search & rescue teams searched the area for 2 weeks before quitting the area. What remains is the investigation as the case remains open.

I believe that Jay had decided to sell the stolen watch to the men and was led to believe that they had money to pay for it at their rental apartment in Masca. However, I think they took the watch from him and then ordered him to leave. He can't turn to the police for help, they deal with it themselves. So Jay made the ill fated decision to walk back to Los cristianos having missed the bus as he hadn't slept at all that night, he'd been drinking and had used a fair amount of drugs and was not thinking straight. He's clearly in unfamiliar territory and doesn't know the surrounding area having driven there in the cover of darkness. He's very disoriented and still under the influence of drink and drugs from the night before despite him being a physically fit young man he would have been unable to traverse the hilly mountain terrain due to the dense undergrowth and steep ravines, he wasn't equipped for such a hike.
I pray he is safe and well. 🙏
How can you miss a bus that is due in 2hours FFS. He wasn't even walking in the direction of the resorts he was told the right direction and yet the lady who gave him the bus time sa w him walking the wrong way. Even then if he hadn't bought his cigarettes yet the shop in the "wrong way" but it is only up the road just out of Masca.. what made him take a footpath into a gorge if he was complaining about no water and being lost so ea rly in the morning when tnere is a very obvious cafe bar at Masca and he presumably went the wrong way to the shop if he was smoking when he called his mate...?
Is there some kind of privacy law that goes against publishing people’s photos as a manipulation tactic to make these people come forward so a self proclaimed investigator can interview them? Just seems wrong

You could well be correct. If you look at the trainers peeping out from the orange patterned blanket on the photo taken at the Airbnb doorway steps you will see dark coloured footwear.
Are there any photos anywhere of Jay wearing dark shoes? I haven’t found any. He is always wearing white footwear.

@@RushmoorFizzbomb And now it turns out the guy booked the Air B&B under a false name, and he has done time in prison for drug offences. Theres a lot of weird stuff going on here. And as for the photo, who takes a photo of their feet, and holding a cigarette for gods sake. It could very well be someone else wearing the guys shoes.
@@IanMorrison-y3z I’ve only seen Jay wearing white shoes. I can’t understand why Mark is certain that it definitely is Jay. However a forensic investigation at the apartment could identify fingerprints and match them with known associates or not.

I’ve seen the Snapchat. It was an AP watch not a Rolex, which was stolen from a few “mailli kids” (Somalians as Jay termed them). He was selling it for 10 grand but in the Snapchat he wrote 10 quid

Thank you for clarifying that the watch stolen whilst he was in Los Cristianos before he arrived in Macous because I have heard very different versions of how he came to be in pocession of it. However what we do not know is whether or not he managed to sell the watch to the two men before he left their rental property?

Jay said he stole the Rolex, Friends said he wouldn't lie. Jay is a criminal , a thug and a dealer, doesn;t deserve to die , but if you run with the wolves etc etc

Exactly what I think. He was off his face and got into trouble trying to walk back. I had a similar experience when I was younger. Walked what I thought was a 10 min walk to get our care back from a town we partied in the night before. It took almost 2 hours to get there. I had no phone no water. I was in a bad way when I got to the town. Thankfully a bar was open I got loads of water into me then drove back. I was only hungover from the night before. Can only imagine what it's like if you're off your face like he was. I'd say he made the same choices as me only he wasn't as lucky. I've a feeling he either fell or tried to get somewhere to water and got into big trouble. I dont think foul play here. Just a young lad that was too full of drugs. If he did steal a watch that just means he's a thief. But I can't see foul play. Just a kid making really stupid choices and ended up paying a dreadful price.
I hope he's OK but it just looks so unlikely now.

It’s strange to say the least this Jay Slater mysterious case! For me, this guy did a runner from those two guys in the RnB for some reason, he didn’t even charge his phone!
I know Tenerife and that area is popular with trekkers and explorers! Personally , I don’t think he’s there! Something happens to him after the runner from that house! The theory is that two Somali guys and him were in the party together and stolen watch was something to be shared, and this two guys decided not to share the profit with Jay , so he went off from there! We don’t know because prove of stolen goods it’s difficult to come by!! Hope he’s found soon dead or alive! The sea should be investigated!!
It's unlikely that he's gone off into the mountains in the sweltering heat with no water. It doesn't make sense.

You can walk to Santiago del Teide in three or four hours and get buses to anywhere he wasn't even walking in the right direction. He could have hitched or waited for the local bus, at the cafe bar just chilled out a d enjoyed the scenery. Even if he had a daft idea to explore one of the footpath why would he say he was low and water and battery and lost. When he could have maybe got a charge and water at the cafe bar after all he had money for cigarettes. Going off piste makes sense if he wronged someone, but maybe it was just foolish cos he was still worse for wear. Still everywhere is signposted it is a busy tourist destination now for the scenery and walking it's not the volcanic national park which is vast and probably easy to get lost. Walking the wrong way but Masca has sign posts saying which way the roads go. You'd have to be a total twit or avoiding the road perhaps. Doesn't mean folk were after him it could have simply been his own daft idea. But can't comprehend saying you are lost. The media nonsense that he had decided to walk back to Las Americas.. there are buses, even if you simply started walking until the 10am bus came or walked along and down to Santiago.. he did neither he went west then south west down one of the gorges. !?!?!? One word Misadventure.

this was talked about for weeks. it was covered in a european newspaper and it was a brawl outside a bar. an eastern european man (oooohhhh ah dad da dahhhhh hum russian, urkraine mafia lol) reported it lost. No one has identified him. So are we now saying Jay stole the watch from one of these men in the Air BnB. A lets say 15,000 watch. so these two guys can afford to wear one but stay over in a cheap AirBnB for 40.00 a night seriously are we believing that lol.
FACT. BRAD STATED ON CAMERA to reporter that jay video called him and was laughing and happy. what time was that I assume early cos he cut off as he had a call. assume LUCY.
FACT. LUCY said she spoke to him he was lost and disoritentated blah blah, around 8.15 - 8.30.
FACT. Jay spoke to Ophelia at 8am. Then stated she SAW him walking up the hill going the wrong way but didnt think to stop. so that was a few hours later I think.
SO 3 FACTS we actually know about. Brad he was HAPPY. LUCY. He was disoriented blah blah. OPHELIA, he was obviously compos mentis as she understood what he was asking her, and idicated 10 with her hands. She didnt say he looked stress, anixous, scared, did she? What if he did steal the watch, the 2 guys said they’d buy it and said they had the money at the Airb&b so he goes back with them. While they’re sorting stuff he takes a Snapchat on the step waiting. The 2 guys decide it’s 2 against 1 and decide to rob him of the watch and he legs it from the airb&b and that’s why the owner saw him walking away quickly. He’s not going to report them robbing him coz he stole the watch in the first place but he obviously can’t go back to the airb&b so just keeps walking.

I have took a cheap stay 5 miles from masca and then got the bus in to the resorts of playa Americas etc its not that strange, what i want to know how did they get to masca were they not intoxicated? How did he steal the watch and when you dont leave these hanging about?

I feel if he had stolen a watch from the guys in the air bnb and then he found out he couldnt jump on a bus immediately he WOULD walk in the opposite direction to what the theft victim would expect, possibly he was then picked up by someone passing by and that person could haved robbed him for the watch and left him somewhere? Just another of many scenerios that could have happened. But this one makes sense.

I don’t know if it’s true because I haven’t actually checked it out myself as I don’t have insta but I saw somewhere someone wrote a comment saying one of the men from the air BnB brags on his insta about having an AP (the same watch Jay is being accused of stealing). It may have been on there before but if this guy does have one or likes them it could explain why Jay went there..maybe he was selling them the watch. Perhaps THEY robbed HIM when they got him back to their place 🤷🏻♀️ robbery isn’t always violent..sometimes people can be intimidating enough to just say “give me that watch then mate”. It would explain why the lady said he was walking fast (baring in mind it was uphill and very hot) so if your walking fast there surely had to be a reason for that 🤷🏻♀️ it would also explain why he didn’t seem to want to wait around for the bus
Is Lucy associated with the Airbnb and or know the owners? Did she sublet it for her friends, or has she ever rented it? Apparently, she was friends with the Somalians prior to meeting up in Tenerife.
If the innocent touristic Somalians were really there on a weekend jolly, the idea of renting the remote property because of it's inexpensiveness but then needing to rent a higher car to get too and from by paying for fuel etc, suggests that the cheap Airbnb rental price was perhaps not the reason they stayed there.
Please let's not forget, if it is indeed true that the named and photograph 30 something year-old has just served nine years in prison for drugs, and was already allegedly associated with Lucy and maybe the others.
Relevant or not it appears that there were two bedrooms in the Airbnb suggesting that perhaps the two friends of Jay may not be 'a couple'.
Also, witnesses suggest that they spent a great deal of time with in the apartment.
If indeed that is the case that would suggest that they did not come to the island solely with the intention of partying. Therefore, leaving a suspicion that the remote location was perhaps a factor in their choice of accommodation.
Regardless of the condition, mentally and physically, in which Jay might have departed the Airbnb does not mean that his friends could not have pursued him in their car, or if not, that he may have thought that they would.
I think we are talking drugs here. How could he get a rolex watch off someone's wrist in a nightclub. People don't carry them around in their pockets.

I'm down south in Hampshire, but I have a lot of family that live in Burnley and surrounding areas. I lived in Nelson for six years during my 30's and used to love going to Oswaldtwistle Mills for shopping.

Im curious about the boat that was just off shore. It was said it left one side of the island and circled in the water at the north side of the island around 10 that morning then went off radar and noone know where the boat went. It was also said the boat had turned the radar off for 8 hours prior to this. Could he have been taken to that boat. And then the lady that saw him walking supposedly saw him in a car later that morning. The information given is so different everywhere.
How would anyone know of such a boat? Who is your source?

This is what I think happened.
He was off his face and got into trouble trying to walk back. I had a slightly similar experience when I was his age. Walked what I thought was a 10 min walk to get our car back from a town we partied in the night before. It took almost 2 hours to get there. I had no phone no water. I was in a bad way when I got to the town. Thankfully a bar was open I got loads of water into me then drove back. I was only hungover from the night before. Can only imagine what it's like if you're off your face like he was. I'd say he made the same choices as me only he wasn't as lucky. I've a feeling he either fell or tried to get somewhere to water and got into big trouble. I dont think foul play here. Just a young lad that was too full of drugs. If he did steal a watch that just means he's a thief. But I can't see foul play. Just a kid making really stupid choices and ended up paying a dreadful price.
I hope he's OK but it just looks so unlikely now.

If only the young people among us would NOT get pie eyed at the first opportunity, Reilly strain, jay, dozens of others have got into trouble when they go away. If nothing else they should be taught to stick together

Surely it's easy to verify if a watch and/or anything else was stolen from the B&B??? And to explain why Jay went back with them? I don't see the difficulty.....One of them is a convicted drugs dealer, go figure!

Robbing those guys may be the reason he didn’t wait for the bus, if the bus stop was so close to the bnb he may of been scared of hanging around in case they caught him, but who knows cuz no one even knows if it’s true but it is odd that he got there and left so soon

Question thats been bugging me is why did he decide to go with the two men from the club, leave his mates behind, even if hes high on such....drive all that way to stay such a short time and make his own way back? Maybe he was trying to sell them the watch and it backfired on him??? because it belonged to them? he got scared at that point and left, tried to make it down to the beach, the best at his state that he knew how? 19 is too young to take such a long trip away from home , Jay and Lucy should have made a agreement to stay together at the party she got tired and left Jay stayed late that was one bad decision.
